A display system has a display device, a display control device, and a laser emitting device. The display device has a display part that displays information on a display screen and a laser detection part having a plurality of optical sensors arranged in the vicinity of the display screen of the display part to detect a laser beam that has reached the display screen. The laser emitting device has an instruction input part that inputs an instruction with respect to the displayed information and a laser output part that outputs the laser beam including output information corresponding to the inputted instruction. The display control device has a position calculation part that calculates a position of the display screen irradiated with the laser beam based on positions of the optical sensors that have detected the laser beam, a received information acquiring part that acquires the output information included in the laser beam detected by the optical sensors and a display control part that controls a display of the information displayed on the display part, based on the position calculated by the position calculation part and the acquired output information.

Display system

The image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion that synthetically prints image data and ID image data specific to a user on a recording paper, a paper discharge tray that discharges and accumulates the recording papers, and an ID image reading portion that reads the ID images of the recording papers accumulated in the paper discharge tray, and notifies an external device specified by a user corresponding to the read ID image that the recording papers in the paper discharge tray must be removed. The image forming apparatus includes an output condition setting portion that sets output conditions of the recording papers, and the image forming portion prints the image data on a recording paper and the ID image data on an edge of the recording paper in accordance with the output conditions set by the output condition setting portion.

A management server is connected to an MFP and a client PC through LAN. The management server includes a leaving information acquiring portion that acquires leaving information related to recording paper sheets left unremoved for each print job accepted by the MFP, a leaving information count portion that counts the acquired leaving information for each user, and a warning portion that transmits warning information for prompting a user not to leave a recording paper sheet. The leaving information count portion counts the number of print jobs associated with the detection of the recording paper sheets left unremoved for each time zone based on the leaving detection time and the user ID from the leaving information acquiring portion, and when accepting a print job from a client PC, the warning portion transmits warning information to the client PC for a user having the counted number not less than a predetermined number.

More than one image forming devices (such as printer, copier, facsimile, etc.) which provide detecting means of environmental conditions (such as a temperature and/or humidity sensor) and sending means of the information of the said detected conditions and a print server are connected through a network. The print server judges the environmental situation of each device, selects the devices which are good for operation and sends the respective print data to the selected devices according to the said judgment. In this printing system the environmental conditions of image forming devices are judged uniformly and in highly reliable manner in order to avoid printing from the devices which are in dew condensation and/or waiting for the devices becoming ready to operate so that a large volume of printing matters can be printed in the minimum interval.

In an image forming apparatus provided with a cooling fan for cooling an original table glass, a controller measures a cooling time from the end of a previous copying operation to the start of a current copying operation. An operating condition determining section estimates a residual amount of heat energy based on the measured time and the generated amount of heat energy at the pervious copying operation. An amount of heat energy to be generated at the current image forming is added to the thus estimated residual amount of heat energy. Based on the sum of the heat energy, actual temperature-rise characteristics are calculated. The fan is driven at a rotating rate for an operating time in accordance with the thus calculated temperature-rise characteristics.

A rotatable-cassette-type feeding device, for use in an image forming apparatus for forming images on sheets of paper, has a paper cassette for housing sheets of paper. This paper cassette can be rotated either to the longitudinal feeding station or to the lateral feeding station of the sheets of paper by a driving motor. The rotatable-cassette-type feeding device is provided with drive control means for controlling the driving motor in its rotation speed in such a manner that, during a state in which no copying process is required, the paper cassette is rotated at a speed that is lower than that marked during an copying operation. Thus, when the rotatable cassette is driven during the stand-by state, the motor is rotated at a low speed. Thus, it is possible to reduce noise that is generated from the driving system and the motor of the rotatable cassette, thereby making the device quieter.

Rotatable-cassette-type feeding device for use in image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus comprising rotatable cassettes rotated by cassette rotating means between a longitudinal feeding station from which paper is fed in a longitudinal direction thereof and a lateral feeding station from which paper is fed in a lateral direction thereof, wherein memory means stores a cassette rotation signal, when the cassette rotation signal is entered therein and cassette rotating means is controlled in accordance with the cassette rotation signal stored in the memory means when a cassette rotation permission signal for permitting the rotation of the rotatable cassette is generated, so that the rotatable cassette is set in a predetermined feeding station. The invention also provides an image forming apparatus capable of storing the feeding station of the rotatable cassette in the memory means and rotating the rotatable cassette to the feeding station stored in the memory means when the rotatable cassette is out of both longitudinal feeding station and lateral feeding station. Further, the invention provides an imagae forming apparatus capable of selecting a desired cassette from a plurality of cassettes and instructing to rotate the rotatable cassette by depressing a minimum number of operation keys. The invention further provides an image forming apparatus wherein the rotatable cassette is taken out therefrom by setting the rotatable cassette in either of the longitudinal feeding station and the lateral feeding station, characterized in that the rotatable cassette is set in the feeding station specified as a rotatable cassette taking-out/insertion position each time an image formation is completed.
