Provided is a grease composition for a magnet clutch of an automobile, including: a base oil; and a thickener, wherein the composition contains 5% by mass or more of a sulfur content in terms of sulfur element relative to a total mass of the composition.

Grease composition

A bearing used for an electromagnetic clutch includes an inner race, an outer race, and a plurality of balls provided between the inner and outer races. The plurality balls are arranged in single row, and each of the balls contacts both inner and outer races at two contact points, respectively. Thus, even when the outer race inclines due to an external force, each ball continuously contacts both the inner race and the outer race at at least one point, respectively. Accordingly, the balls do not fall due to gravity, thereby preventing noise generated by balls falling and colliding with the races.

Rotary machine having single row four contact point bearing

A spring plate member is connected to a hub. The spring plate member includes a plate spring portion generating a resilient force to separate an armature from a rotor, and an outer ring portion, which faces the armature. An elastic member is provided between the armature and the outer ring portion for connecting the armature directly with the outer ring portion. Thus, operation noises of the electromagnetic clutch and a compressor are efficiently reduced. Further, the axial dimension of elastic member can be made much smaller than that of the conventional cylindrical elastic member.

Electromagnetic clutch

A connector-integrated coil apparatus that includes a stress-absorbing elbow segment that minimizes the chance of coil breakage. A fusing portion of a coil terminal wire and a terminal is located within a coupler rather than the interface between a metal housing and the resin coupler. Further, the fusing portion is located between a stress-absorbing elbow segment of the coil terminal wire and a tip of the terminal. Accordingly, even if stress is caused by a difference of thermal expansion coefficients between the housing and the coupler, the stress is absorbed by the stress-absorbing elbow segment. Accordingly, breakage of the coil terminal wire at the fusing portion is prevented.

Connector-integrated coil apparatus

An electromagnetic clutch for a compressor in an air conditioning system, having a rotor 2 for receiving a rotating movement from its source, a hub 12 in connection with a rotating shaft of the compressor, a coil housing 4 for storing a coil spool 14 on which an electromagnetic coil is wound, and an armature 8 which is attracted to a frictional surface 2a of the rotor 2 under the effect of an electromagnetic attracting force generated by the electromagnetic coil 5. The coil spool 14 has an inclined surface at an inner corner location which is located adjacent the frictional surface 2a of the rotor 2. The coil spool has a recess at a location where the inclined surface is formed, in which recess a temperature fuse is arranged. The temperature fuse is broken under a condition that the temperature is higher than a predetermined value, thereby de-energizing the electromagnetic coil 5.

A stator housing of an electromagnetic clutch has a receiving portion for receiving an exciting coil and a bottom with through holes. The through holes are formed by pressing so as to have a tapered portion, a cross-sectional area of which becomes large toward the opposite side of the exciting coil. The exciting coil is received in the receiving portion so as to face the through holes and fixed by a molded resin which is filled into a space between the exciting coil and the receiving portion as well as the through holes. Accordingly, a fixing structure for preventing the exciting coil and the mold resin from coming out of the stator housing can be provided with low cost and high productivity.

A magnetic clutch includes a rotor and an armature facing to each other for establishing a coupling connection. A serpentine magnetic circuit is formed in the rotor and the armature. A method for manufacturing a rotor of a magnetic clutch of the invention comprises the step of deforming a single ring-shaped plate of a magnetic material, by a plastic deformation process such as cold forging, into a ring-shaped element comprising generally concentric inner and outer cylindrical walls, and a ring-shaped bottom wall. Prior to or after or simultaneously with this step, ring grooves are formed on the bottom wall. A nonmagnetic material is then filled in the ring grooves, and the bottom surface of the bottom wall is cut to form a friction surface. By this cutting, the nonmagnetic material is exposed at the friction surface.

Method for manufacturing a rotor of a magnetic clutch

A first body is formed from a first cylindrical member. The first body includes a restricted portion which extends circumferentially along the first body and has an inner diameter smaller than that of the first cylindrical member, a V-shaped groove on the outer surface of the restricted portion, opposite cylindrical end portions which have a diameter substantially equal to that of the first cylindrical member, and a pair of annular connecting portions which connect the end portions to the respective ends of the restricted portion. Further, a second body is formed from a second cylindrical member which has a diameter smaller than that of the first cylindrical member. The second body includes a cylindrical portion which has a diameter substantially equal to that of the second cylindrical member, a flange portion connected to the cylindrical portion and having a diameter larger than the inner diameter of one end portion of the first body, and an annular groove between the flange portion and the cylindrical portion. The flange portion includes an inclined surface along the periphery of the flange portion. The first and second bodies are assembled by fitting the flange portion of the second body into one of the end portions of the first body. A non-magnetic material is filled within the annular groove and a space between the inclined surface of the flange portion of the second body and the end portion of the first body. The outer end of the assembly is machined to provide a friction surface and to expose the non-magnetic material on the friction surface to form a rotor for an electromagnetic clutch.

Method of manufacturing an electromagnetic clutch

An electromagnetic clutch capable of reducing a noise generated upon contact of an armature with rotor. Connecting member 20 for connecting inner and outer rings 5a and 5b of the armature are integrally formed with arms 19 extending radially inwardly from locations where the connection members 20 are connected to the inner ring 5a by rivets 12. The arms 17 are in face to face contact with an elastic member 18 made of rubber, which is held by the inner hub 7 by means of a retainer 19. Upon the movement of the armature 5 toward to rotor 4 by means of an electromagnetic force, just before the contact of the armature 5 with the rotor 4, a steep increase in a force for opposing the movement of the armature 5 with respect to the rotor 4 is obtained, thereby reducing an impact upon the contact, and reducing the noise.
