According to an embodiment, a liquid dispensing head includes a nozzle plate with a plurality of nozzles and a plurality of pressure chambers respectively communicating with the nozzles. A vibration plate is on a side of the pressure chambers opposite the nozzle plate. A supply-side flow path for liquid to be dispensed from the nozzle is on an inlet side of the plurality of pressure chambers. A discharge-side flow path for the liquid is on an outlet side of the pressure chambers. Piezoelectric elements are positioned to vibrate the vibration plate to change a volume of the pressure chambers for ejecting (dispensing) the liquid from the plurality of nozzles. The supply-side flow path is set to have a flow path resistance that is the same as a flow path resistance of the discharge-side flow-path.

Liquid dispensing head

According to one embodiment, a liquid ejection head includes an actuator with a plurality of pressure chambers and dummy chambers. The pressure chambers are each part of a groove that is disposed between an adjacent pair of sidewalls. Each pressure chamber is in fluid communication with a nozzle for ejecting a liquid. The dummy chambers are each between an adjacent pair of pressure chambers. A common chamber is fluidly connected to an end of each of the pressure chambers. A throttle portion is at the end portion of each pressure chamber. Each throttle portion blocks a part of a liquid flow path from the first common chamber to the pressure chamber. The first throttle portion is formed of a resin material.

Liquid ejecting head and method of manufacturing liquid ejecting head

A liquid ejection head of a side shooter type includes a plate including nozzles arranged along a first direction and through which liquid is ejected, an actuator including pressure chambers communicating with the nozzles, dummy chambers each disposed between two adjacent pressure chambers, and sidewalls separating the chambers along the first direction and deformable to change a volume of each pressure chamber according to a signal, and covers having apertures and partly covering both ends of each pressure chamber in a second direction intersecting the first direction such that the pressure chambers communicate with a common chamber at both ends thereof through the apertures. Each cover includes a first portion on and between the sidewalls and a second portion other than the first portion, and a first length of the first portion is equal to or greater than a second length of the second portion in the second direction.

Liquid ejection head

According to one or more embodiments, a liquid ejection head includes an actuator and a driver. The actuator has a piezoelectric element made of a lead-free piezoelectric material. The driver applies a voltage to the actuator to vibrate the piezoelectric element in a first direction with a first electric field in a first polarization direction of the piezoelectric element and a second electric field in a direction opposite to the first polarization direction. The second electric field is controlled to be equal to or less than a coercive electric field of the piezoelectric element.

Liquid ejection head and liquid ejection device

According to one embodiment, a liquid discharge head includes a flexible printed circuit (FPC) connected to piezoelectric elements. The FPC has a first end in the first direction. A wiring layer of the FPC has a first region at the first end and a cover layer covering on a second region. The piezoelectric elements are spaced from each other in a second direction and each has a first electrode on a side surface facing towards the FPC. The first side has a joint surface facing the first region of the wiring layer. The first electrode is electrically connected to the wiring layer at the joint surface. The side surface includes a step portion that is recessed from the joint surface. A portion of the cover layer protrudes into a space adjacent to the step portion.

Liquid discharge head

A liquid ejecting head of a side shooter type includes a plate including a plurality of nozzles arranged along a first direction and an actuator with a plurality of pressure chambers arranged along the first direction. Each pressure chamber communicates with a corresponding one of the nozzles. The actuator further includes dummy chambers, each of which is between two otherwise adjacent pressure chambers. Common chambers are provided in the actuator. The pressure and dummy chambers are arranged between the common chambers. The end portions of the pressure chambers are connected to a common chamber. The width of the end portions of each of the pressure chambers is less than the width of a portion of the pressure chamber between the end portions.

Liquid ejecting head and liquid ejecting device

A liquid discharge head includes an actuator base, a case member, and a nozzle plate. The actuator base includes a plurality of grooves space from each other in a first direction. Each of the grooves extends in a second direction. The actuator base is formed of a piezoelectric ceramic material. The case member includes a frame portion spaced from the actuator base in the second direction. The frame portion has an end surface in the third direction that is level with an end surface of the actuator base in the third direction. The frame portion is formed of a ceramic material having aluminum titanate as a main component. The nozzle plate is contacting the end surface of the frame portion and the end surface of the actuator base.

A fluid discharge head according to an embodiment includes abase including a plurality of first grooves disposed side by side in a first direction and a plurality of second grooves disposed side by side in the first direction and respectively disposed among the plurality of first grooves, an individual wire including individual electrodes formed in the second grooves, the individual wire being extended to one side in a second direction crossing the first direction, a common wire including common electrodes formed in the first grooves, the common wire being extended to the other side in the second direction, a connection wire connected to the common wire on the other side in the second direction and leading to the one side, and a nozzle plate including nozzles that communicate with the first grooves of the base.

Fluid discharge head and fluid discharge apparatus

An inkjet head comprises a drive section, a nozzle plate, a substrate and a wiring section. The drive section comprises two integral piezoelectric members of which polarization directions are opposite with respect to the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric member, wherein a plurality of grooves arranged from one piezoelectric member to the middle of the other piezoelectric member and a plurality of holes arranged across the two piezoelectric members are alternately arranged along the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric member. Inkjet head, inkjet printer and manufacturing method of inkjet head

In accordance with one embodiment, an inkjet head comprises a plurality of groove-shaped pressure chambers formed on piezoelectric members of which the polarization directions are opposite, and a nozzle plate arranged at the lateral side of the pressure chambers across a lid section with high rigidity. A plurality of through holes connected to a plurality of nozzles formed on the nozzle plate is formed in the lid section. The inkjet head is set in a range of 10&#x2dc;25% before and after a center, that is, a length ratio where the relation between ejection voltage of ink ejected from the nozzles and a length ratio between the length of the through hole of the lid section in the longitudinal direction of the pressure chamber and the length of the pressure chamber in the longitudinal direction of the pressure chamber is minimized.

Inkjet printer head

In accordance with one embodiment, an inkjet head comprises a plurality of groove-shaped pressure chambers formed on piezoelectric members of which the polarization directions are opposite, and a nozzle plate arranged at the lateral side of the pressure chambers across a lid section with high rigidity. A plurality of through holes connected to a plurality of nozzles formed on the nozzle plate is formed in the lid section. The inkjet head is set in a range of 10-25% before and after a center, that is, a length ratio where the relation between ejection voltage of ink ejected from the nozzles and a length ratio between the length of the through hole of the lid section in the longitudinal direction of the pressure chamber and the length of the pressure chamber in the longitudinal direction of the pressure chamber is minimized.

A process of manufacturing an inkjet head includes forming an electrode part, in which after an electrode is formed on an inner surface of a groove part formed in a substrate of the inkjet head, a smoothed film made of an inorganic material and having an average surface roughness of 0.6 &#x3bc;m or less is formed on a surface of the electrode, and then, an electrode protection film having a thickness of 1.0 &#x3bc;m or more is formed on a surface of the smoothed film; bonding a nozzle plate to an opening end face of a pressure chamber in the groove part by an adhesive after the electrode part is formed; and forming, in the nozzle plate, a nozzle communicating with the pressure chamber by laser machining after the nozzle plate is bonded.

A manufacturing method of an inkjet head including, forming an insulating layer which is compact compared to a piezoelectric member with respect to a region other than a driving unit which ejects ink, in the piezoelectric member, and forming an electrode for applying a driving voltage to the driving unit, by performing electroless plating with respect to the driving unit and the insulating layer.

According to one embodiment, an inkjet head comprises a substrate, and a nozzle plate. The substrate includes grooves. The nozzle plate includes nozzles that are formed by laser processing to communicate with the grooves. Electrodes are formed on respective internal surfaces of the grooves. Each of the electrodes is formed of a plurality of metal layers, and includes a flat surface that is apart from the internal surfaces of the grooves. A first inorganic film is superposed on the surfaces of the electrodes. A second inorganic film is superposed on the first inorganic film.
