A carburetor fuel flow control device having an elongate annular body received in a cavity with an inlet in its side-wall communicating with a fuel supply passage and an outlet downstream of the inlet and adjacent to an end of the body, and a needle valve with a metering portion adjacent one end rotatably and slidably received in the body with the metering portion at least partially lapping or blocking the inlet to change the effective flow area of the inlet in response to generally axial movement of the needle valve relative to the inlet.

Carburetor fuel control

A carburetor valve and limiter cap assembly for limiting adjustment of fuel flow in a carburetor may include a needle valve and a limiter cap. The needle valve may have a tip, a threaded portion, a head having a flange with an outer diameter greater than the rest of the head, and one or more serrations formed on the head. The limiter cap may have a sidewall, a tab extending outwardly from the sidewall, a first cavity having an inner diameter sized for an interference fit with the flange, and at least one driving feature to engage at least one serration so that rotation of the limiter cap causes rotation of the needle valve. The interference fit between the flange and the limiter cap inhibits removal of the limiter cap from the needle valve to prevent undesired adjustment of the needle valves by an end user.

Carburetor valve adjustment limiter

A carburetor has a throttle valve assembly with a cam member and cam surface internally arranged in a body of the carburetor. The cam member is carried by the throttle valve body and preferably has outwardly extending tabs for locking engagement within slots formed in the throttle valve body. The throttle valve body has a dust seal constructed from an elastomeric material. The dust seal has one end sized for a tight resilient fit about a boss extending upwardly from a cap of the carburetor, and another end sized for tight resilient fit about a shaft carried by the throttle valve body, and a mid-section expanded over a flange.
