A signal transmission device includes a communication unit that performs communication using differential transmission with an electronic device via a differential wiring, and a signal processing unit that performs signal processing related to the communication, in which the communication unit is capable of receiving, via the differential wiring, communication signals transmitted from the electronic device at each of a plurality of signal transmission rates including at least a first signal transmission rate and a second signal transmission rate lower than the first signal transmission rate, the communication unit measures an amplitude of the communication signals received from the electronic device at the second signal transmission rate, and the signal processing unit detects a short-circuit failure of a filter circuit on the basis of the amplitude measured by the communication unit.

Provided is a gateway device capable of reducing power consumption in a sleep state and relaying an activation signal between networks without delay. If a power supply is provided to a circuit necessary to control a switch for switching a path after wakeup, or if a buckle switch is switched while a microcomputer is asleep, an electrical current necessary for reliable operation of the buckle switch cannot be supplied during sleep, so that the buckle switch will not operate normally. This creates the possibility that wakeup cannot be performed. To permit the electrical current necessary for reliable operation of the buckle switch to be secured if the buckle switch is switched while the microcomputer is asleep, an FET capable of being kept ON or OFF by a power supply acting during sleep, a resistor connected with the FET, and a resistor of large resistance for blocking excessive dark current if the buckle switch is connected are arranged in parallel. The combined resistance of the parallel combination of these elements is used as a pull-up resistance at the input of a control unit.

A non-contact position sensor having improved rotational angle measuring accuracy is provided. A magnet is attached To a rotating shaft. An angle sensor element detects magnetic field changes generated from the magnet due to rotation of the rotating shaft. A signal processor, on the basis of a temperature detected by a temperature sensor, corrects variance between the sensors including the sensor element, the signal processor, and the magnet by correcting an amplitude value and/or an offset value of a signal or variance due to time of the amplitude value. The sensor elementoutputs the first and second outputs vand vand the signal processor obtains the temperature coefficients of the amplitude values of the output vand output v, or the temperature coefficients of the offset values, or the coefficients of variance due to time of the amplitude values, obtains the ratio of the first and second outputs corrected by these coefficients, and calculates the angle using the corrected ratio.

Non-contact position sensor

A sensor and a control circuit are provided externally of a gear cover. This enhances reliability of a shift controller operated by an electric actuator and a motor driven control module similar thereto, and constitute them compact. Further, this provides a rotating position detection sensor suitably used for a switching device as described. A circuit and a sensor are not contaminated with oil or metal powder of a gear mechanism portion.

An angular position sensor has a sensor element detects changes of magnetic field strength of a magnet that rotates in synchronization with a rotating body, for detecting its angular position. A circuit is provided for compensating hysteresis characteristics of an output of the sensor element in both the clockwise and counterclockwise rotation directions, using different coefficients for compensation approximated by different functions, depending on whether said rotating body rotates clockwise or counterclockwise.
