A transmission for a vehicle has a main shaft and a counter shaft, which are supported in a transmission case by bearings. Gears on the main shaft and gears on the counter shaft include: shifter gears which are not rotatable but axially movable relative to the shaft, and fixed gears which are rotatable but not axially movable relative to the shaft. Dog clutches are provided between the shifter gears and the fixed gears, and outer races of the bearings supporting the main and counter shafts are affixed to the transmission case. Vibration-absorbing elastic members are pressed against the outer races from axially outside and are set to have a volume of 50% or more of the volume of the outer races. With such configuration, the vibration of the bearings supporting both the main and counter shafts of the transmission is attenuated, and striking noise caused by shifting is reduced.

Transmission

A variable-speed drive device for a power unit to be used in a vehicle equipped with a stopper pin passed through an opening in a master arm for regulating the amount of rotary movement of the master arm. Shock-absorbing device is provided on the master arm or the stopper pin At least a part of the shock-absorbing device is formed to project into the path along which the stopper pin moves relative to the opening of the master arm, from a stopper pin outer surface or from edge portions of a defining edge of the opening in the master arm onto extension of the stopper pin path. As a result, even if the master arm and the stopper pin contact one another at high speed, it is possible to suppress the sound of contact and suppress an increase in the weight of a stopper pin fixing part.

Variable-speed drive device for power unit

A silencer includes conduit with a downstream end portion configured from a tubular member which includes a conduit discharge port extending through a silencer main body and discharges exhaust gas to the outside therethrough. The tubular member includes a resonance communication hole communicating with a resonance chamber and an upstream side communication hole and a downstream side communication hole communicating with a second chamber. A barrier wall serving as a throttle portion for throttling an exhaust path at an intermediate location of the tubular member is provided in the inside of the tubular member and between the upstream side communication hole and the downstream side communication hole.

Silencer for internal combustion engine

A vehicle exhaust system structure capable of easily improving output performance in comparison with a two-cylinder internal combustion engine having the same displacement and outputting an appealing and excellent exhaust sound relating to the two-cylinder internal combustion engine, in a four-cylinder internal combustion engine or a three-cylinder internal combustion engine. An exhaust pipe structure for an internal combustion engine is configured such that exhaust pipes are respectively connected to four cylinders of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine, the two exhaust pipes of the exhaust pipes are formed as long exhaust pipes having a long pipe length while the other two exhaust pipes thereof are formed as short exhaust pipes having a short pipe length, and a difference in a pipe length between the long exhaust pipes and the short exhaust pipes is set to 150 mm or more.

Exhaust pipe structure for internal combustion engine

An engine balancer device is provided that can prevent an increase in the number of component parts and the enlargement of an engine. The balancer weight includes a primary balancerrotated at the same speed as, and in a counter direction to a crankshaftand a coupling balancer for suppressing moment force resulting from the reciprocative weight of the engine. Engine balancer device

A silencer cover adapts to a heat expansion of a silencer even when, for example, the silencer cover has a large size and is attached to the silencer over an area from the front to the rear. A silencer cover is provided for a silencer connected to a downstream end of an exhaust pipe of an engine. The silencer cover is fixed to a fixing support provided to the silencer. The silencer is heat-expanded with the fixing support part fixed as a base. The fixing support part is provided at a front end portion, in a vehicle front-rear direction, of the silencer. With a tail pipe constituting a rear end portion of the silencer, the rear end portion of the silencer is provided with a slide structure in which the silencer cover is slidably supported.

Silencer cover for saddle-ride type vehicle

An exhaust-pipe structure for a saddle-ride type vehicle includes expansion paths each having a capacity appropriate for the output capacity of a corresponding cylinder. A front exhaust pipe and a rear exhaust pipe extend from a front cylinder and a rear cylinder constituting a V-type engine, respectively. A silencer is connected to rear end portions of the front and rear exhaust pipes. As expansion chambers, the silencer is provided with a lower first chamber led from the front cylinder and an upper first chamber led from the rear cylinder. A protruding space protruding from the lower first chamber is formed so that the capacity of the lower first chamber led from the front cylinder is larger than the capacity of the upper first chamber led from the rear cylinder.

Exhaust pipe structure for saddle-ride type vehicle

A power unit support structure to minimize vibration of a vehicle body frame. A mount bracket disposed on a vehicle body frame supports a power unit that includes a longitudinal engine. Specifically, the mount bracket is disposed substantially at a center in a vehicle width direction between a pair of right and left center side frames that form part of the vehicle body frame and extend in a vehicle fore-aft direction. The center side frames are connected together with cross members. The mount bracket is mounted to the cross members via a connection member as a vibration damping material. The power unit is then mounted to the mount bracket via a subframe.

Power unit support structure

An exhaust device includes an exhaust pipe connected at its upstream end to a cylinder head of the engine and an exhaust muffler connected to the downstream end of the exhaust pipe for suppressing the generation of noise from a heat insulating cover that covers a part of the exhaust pipe. A heat insulating cover covers a portion of the exhaust pipe near the engine and a stay is fixed to the heat insulating cover. The stay includes a supporting plate portion curved so as to partially surround the outer circumference of the exhaust pipe. A first vibration isolating member is provided that is sandwiched between the outer circumference of the exhaust pipe and the supporting plate portion, a band member is tightened to mount the supporting plate portion to the exhaust pipe, and a second vibration isolating member is sandwiched between the supporting plate portion and the band member.

Exhaust device for vehicle engine

To reduce the transmission of vibrations from a body frame to a rotary switch, thereby preventing any trouble in the rotary switch and reliably maintaining the function and performance of the rotary switch. A side stand device includes a side stand bracket mounted on the body frame. A side stand is rotatably mounted through a pivot shaft to the bracket, and a rotary switch is provided in coaxial relationship with the pivot bolt through a securing bolt. A sheet is interposed between the rotary switch and the pivot bolt, and a tube and a sheet are interposed between the rotary switch and the securing bolt. The sheets and the tube are formed from rubber members. A cushion member is interposed between an engaging member of an inner rotor in the rotary switch and a locking hole of the side stand. The cushion member is formed from a rubber member.

Side stand device

To provide a bearing device for a rotary shaft which can further restrain the damage to a sliding bearing, by determining the position of a parting surface of the sliding bearing taking into account the position of the maximum pressure of an oil film. A bearing device includes a pair of sliding bearings for rotatably bearing a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, and an oil supply passage for supplying a lubricating oil into clearances between the crankshaft and the sliding bearings. The sliding bearings are composed of bearing halves bisected at a parting surface located on a flat plane, substantially orthogonal to the direction of the maximum pressure of the oil films, formed of the lubricating oil in the clearances. The bearing device is applicable to an internal combustion engine including a cylinder having an inclined cylinder axis, which reduces the vibration and noise of the internal combustion engine.

Bearing device

An engine mount for a saddle-seat vehicle includes an upper engine mount operatively connected to the engine of the vehicle. The upper engine mount operatively connects the engine to the frame of the vehicle. At least one connector is provided for connecting the engine to the upper engine mount. The upper engine mount permits substantially free vertical movement of the engine relative to the frame. The upper engine mount includes an outer sleeve operatively connected to the frame. The upper engine mount further includes an elastic cushion arranged between the connector and the outer sleeve. The upper engine mount may further include an inner sleeve located within the elastic cushion for passage of the connector therethrough. The upper engine mount further includes a plate bracket operatively connected between the outer sleeve and the frame. The plate bracket may include lightening holes therein for decreasing the weight of the plate bracket while increasing flexibility of the plate bracket. The upper engine mount substantially reduces or eliminates the transmission of engine vibration to the seat and the rider of the vehicle.

Engine mount for saddle-seat vehicle

In an exhaust silencing device having inner tubes which are connected to an exhaust pipe connected to an engine and provided with a plurality of through holes, and an outer tube which covers the inner tubes. The occurrence of a whistling sound is prevented while avoiding the use of a sound absorbing material. Recesses or indentations, are provided on the inner surface of the inner tube, which, together with the outer tube, form an annular expansion chamber.

Exhaust silencing device

In an exhaust silencing device having inner tubes which are connected to an exhaust pipe connected to an engine and provided with a plurality of through holes, and an outer tube which covers the inner tubes. The occurrence of a whistling sound is prevented while avoiding the use of a sound absorbing material. Recesses are provided on the inner surface of the inner tube, which, together with the outer tube, form an annular expansion chamber.

An elastic seal member includes a watertight seal around the outside of a rubber cushion between the inner and outer cylinder portions and a cover member for covering the outer face of the elastic seal member with a space therebetween so that the elastic seal member is not exposed to water pressure during washing of a vehicle.
