A packaging machine includes a pair of brushes that hold a tubular film (Fm) therebetween while rotating and impeding the advancement of packaged articles. Consequently, an elongated stream of packaged articles aggregate at the leading end of the pair of brushes. When the pair of brushes release the tubular film, the packaged articles are again conveyed in a more closely aggregated state than the aggregated state thereof when the advancement of the packaged articles was temporarily impeded. The rotational axis of each brush is also biased a predetermined distance from the central axis of a core thereof. Since the brushes swing in conjunction with the rotation thereof, small vibrations and large swings cause the gaps between packaged articles to be readily filled and reduce the space occupied by the packaged articles. As a result, the bag size can be reduced.

Packaging machine

A bag making and packaging machine forms a first transverse seal portion in a packaging material formed in a tubular shape, fills the packaging material with articles, thereafter further forms a second transverse seal portion to make a bag, and allows the bag to fall, and is equipped with a vibrating mechanism. The first transverse seal portion is formed in a direction perpendicular to a conveyance direction of the packaging material. The vibrating mechanism tilts the packaging material to an outer side of a fall path of the bag and vibrates the packaging material after the packaging material has been filled with the articles and before the second transverse seal portion is formed.

Bag making and packaging machine

A form-fill-seal machine is adapted to manufacture a bag having a gusset section, and includes a conveying part, a plurality of splitters and an inward-folding member. The conveying part is configured and arranged to convey a tubular packaging material. The splitters extend along a conveyance direction of the tubular packaging material to contact with the tubular packaging material from an interior side. The inward-folding member has a pressing part including a plurality of contacting portions that are three-dimensionally arranged to generally correspond to a shape of the gusset section. The inward-folding member is configured and arranged to press the contacting portions of the pressing part from an external side of the tubular packaging material against an outer surface of a gusset formation area of the tubular packaging material located between the splitters to form the gusset section.

Form-fill-seal machine

A form-fill-seal machine has a tube, a sailor-collar-shaped part, and a vertical sealing mechanism. The sailor-collar-shaped part wraps a sheet-shaped film around the tube so that two edges thereof define overlapping portions. The vertical sealing mechanism ultrasonically seals the overlapping portions of the sheet-shaped film in the vertical direction. The vertical sealing mechanism has an oscillator and a roller. The oscillator generates ultrasonic waves. The roller is disposed downstream of the oscillator along the advancing direction of the film. The roller holds down the film while rotating in the advancing direction of the film after the film has passed the oscillator.

A bag making and packaging machine includes a conveying unit, a transverse sealing mechanism, and a gusset forming mechanism. The conveying unit is configured and arranged to continuously convey a tubular packaging material. The transverse sealing mechanism has a pair of sealing jaws configured and arranged to revolvingly move while following annular loci to seal the tubular packaging material in a transverse direction with respect to a conveyance direction of the tubular packaging material. The gusset forming mechanism has a pair of folding members configured and arranged to be pressed against side portions of the tubular packaging material to form gussets in the side portions of the tubular packaging material while the folding members move along the conveyance direction of the tubular packaging material before the transverse sealing mechanism seals the tubular packaging material.

A packaging machine includes a packaging machine main body, a film transport unit, a former and a former insertion guide assembly. The film transport unit is coupled to the packaging main body to transport a film from a first end part of the packaging main body towards a second end part of the packaging main body opposite from the first end part. The former is disposed in the second end part of the packaging main body to form the film transported by the film transport unit into a cylindrical shape and to direct the film downwards. The former insertion guide assembly is configured and arranged to guide the former to a predetermined position in the second end part of the packaging machine main body while the former is rotated from a lateral side of the packaging machine main body when the former is mounted to the packaging machine main body.

A bag-making packaging machine includes a bag-producing part, a bag receiving part, and a bottom forming part. The bag-producing part is configured and arranged to transversely seal a tubular packaging material to produce a bag having a top seal part and a bottom seal part formed above and below a product-enclosing main body of the bag. The bag receiving part is configured and arranged to receive and hold the bottom seal part and a part of the main body of the bag, which has been dropped from the bag-producing part. The bottom-forming part is configured and arranged to deform the bag in contact with the bag receiving part to form a bottom portion of the bag into a prescribed shape.

Bag-making packaging machine

A tape mounting systemmounts a product X to a strip tape T, and includes a tape holding mechanism, a mounting mechanism and a control unit. The tape holding mechanism has a payout rollerand a carry-out conveyor, and holds the strip tape T in a horizontal state. The mounting mechanism has a clampand a heater block, and mounts the product X to the strip tape T by attaching a portion Xto the strip tape T. The control unitcontrols the tape holding mechanism and mounting mechanism such that the portion Xof the products X vertically overlaps the strip tape T. The tape mounting system that reduces positional deviation of the portion Xand the strip tape T during the mounting of product X to the tape T caused by positional deviation of the tape T.

The bag-manufacturing and packaging machine transverse sealing mechanism is for a bag-manufacturing and packaging machine that makes bags by sealing a tubular packaging material longitudinally and transversely while also filling the bags with items to be packaged. The transverse sealing mechanism functions to thermally seal the packaging material in a transverse direction, which is perpendicular to the direction in which the packaging material is conveyed. The transverse sealing mechanism is equipped with a plurality of sealing jaws and an adjusting part. The plurality of sealing jaws rotate about a rotational axis and execute thermal sealing by making contact with the tubular packaging material. The adjusting part adjusts a relative distance between the sealing jaws. The bag-manufacturing and packaging machine transverse sealing mechanism readily accommodates different bag sizes.

Bag manufacturing and packaging apparatus

A packaging machine has a former with a guiding member and tube for forming an elongated bag-making material into a tubular form, a longitudinal sealer disposed on the front side of the tube for sealing mutually overlapping side edge parts of the tubularly formed bag-making material in a longitudinal direction and a transverse sealer for sealing the longitudinally sealed bag-making material in a transverse direction transverse to the longitudinal direction to thereby package articles dropped down. The tube has a conical part at the top and a cylindrical part extending downward from the conical part. The cylindrical part has an opening on the back side such that articles dropped through the interior of the tube can directly contact the bag-making material and will be prevented from becoming clogged. An unopened part may be provided to the cylindrical part of the tube below the opening in order to maintain a circular cross-sectional shape of the bag-making material.

A bagging and packaging machine for forming a bag from a strip of bag material and introducing an article into the bag includes a gas supply unit for supplying an inert gas into the bag to substitute for air contained in the bag and a gas supply control means for controlling supply of the inert gas by the gas supply means into the bag. The bagging and packaging machine is designed to allow the inert gas to be supplied under high pressure at a flow rate sufficient to increase the gas replacement rate in the bag when the machine is started, to be supplied under low pressure at a flow rate lower than the high pressure flow rate during a bagging and packaging operation subsequent to the start of the machine. Should the machine is temporarily brought to a halt, the length of time T passing from the timing at which the machine is temporarily brought to a halt is counted by a timer without the supply of the inert gas being interrupted, so that the supply of the inert gas can be interrupted at a timing the counted length of time exceeds a low pressure gas supply time T . In this way, without the bag being bitten during bagging and/or the bagging and packaging speed being lowered, not only can the inert gas be sufficiently filled in the bag to achieve a high gas replacement rate, but the amount of the inert gas supplied can also be suppressed.

Bagging and packaging machine capable of filling a proper quantity of inert gas into bags

A lateral sealing mechanism for use in a bag-making and packaging machine includes movable rotary shafts. The movable rotary shafts are driven by a lateral drive mechanism so that the distance between the shafts is controllable. Support mechanisms are mounted on and rotatable about the shafts. The support mechanisms support sealing elements for forming lateral heat seals on a tubular packaging material from which the bags are formed. The support mechanisms are such that the sealing elements are tiltable with respect to the tubular packaging material, and so that two sealing elements can be maintained in directly opposed engagement to one another across the packaging material as the seal is formed. The machine includes a squeezing mechanism that operates to force the packaged material downward within the tubular material and out of a sealing region before the seal is formed. The machine also includes a shutter mechanism to force the packaged material upward and to prevent the packaged material from entering the sealing region as the seal is formed.

A timing controller for controlling a mobile machine part such as sealers of a form-fill-seal packaging machine includes a display device for displaying a time axis or parallel axes. Displayed on this display device are a marker-indicative of an object arrival time at which an moving object arrives at a specified position and another marker indicative of a machine part arrival time at which the mobile machine part arrives at the same specified position. If the user moves the latter marker on the display device to a selected position, the machine part is automatically controlled so as to arrive at the specified position at the specified time.

A form-fill-seal packaging machine produces a dummy bag from a film by starting to move seal jaws after the film has been pulled over a specified length or for a specified length of time from the moment when an eye mark on the film is detected by a detector. If the position on the film at which it was cut is displaced from the intended position, this displacement is inputted such that the specified length or the specified length of time is automatically corrected. If any of the parameters defining the pattern of transverse sealing operation is changed, the specified length or the specified length of time can also be automatically adjusted.
