A piezoelectric composition comprises an oxide having a perovskite structure, wherein the oxide contains bismuth, barium, iron and titanium; the X-ray diffraction pattern of the piezoelectric composition after a polarization treatment has a first peak and a second peak in the range of the diffraction angle 2&#x3b8; of 38.6&#xb0; or more and 39.6&#xb0; or less; the diffraction angle 2&#x3b8; of the first peak is smaller than the diffraction angle 2&#x3b8; of the second peak; an intensity of the first peak is represented as I; an intensity of the second peak is represented as I; and I/Iis 0.00 or more and 2.00 or less.

Piezoelectric composition and piezoelectric device

An electronic component includes an element body, an external electrode, and a resin film having electrical insulation properties. The element body includes a principal surface and a side surface adjacent to the principal surface. The external electrode includes a first electrode portion disposed on the principal surface and a second electrode portion disposed on the side surface. The resin film is disposed on the principal surface and is in contact with the principal surface. Each of the first electrode portion and the second electrode portion includes a conductive resin layer disposed on the element body. A conductive resin layer included in the first electrode portion is disposed on the resin film and is in contact with the resin film.

The piezoelectric composition is represented by the following Chemical Formula (1):[BiFeO]-[BaTiO]-[SrTiO]&#x2003;&#x2003;(1)wherein 0.5&#x2264;x&#x2264;0.8, 0.02&#x2264;y&#x2264;0.4, 0.02&#x2264;z&#x2264;0.2, x+y+z=1, and 0.96&#x2264;m&#x2264;1.04.

A piezoelectric composition comprises a plurality of crystal particles, wherein the piezoelectric composition includes bismuth, iron, barium, titanium, and oxygen; the crystal particles include a core and a shell covering the core; the average value of the contents of bismuth in the cores is expressed as C% by mass, the average value of the contents of bismuth in the shells is expressed as C% by mass, and the Cis lower than the C; and the number of all the particles comprised in the piezoelectric composition is expressed as N, the number of the crystal particles including the core and the shell is expressed as n, and n/N is 0.10 to 1.00.
