A metallic feed initially in a solid state is fed into a cylinder barrel of an injection molding machine. The metallic feed is melted by applying heat to the metallic feed from outside the cylinder barrel and by heat produced from frictional and shearing forces generated by rotation of a screw housed within the cylinder barrel. The cylinder barrel and screw define at least a feed zone, a compression zone and an accumulating zone. After melting and passing through each of the three zones, the metallic feed is injected into a die, to thereby form a shaped part. The temperature of the metallic feed is controlled to be above the liquidus of the metallic feed during the injecting process.

Process for producing shaped parts of metals

A method for controlling an injection molding machine involving the steps of: detecting, by a screw position detector, a position of a screw of the injection molding machine immediately before the start of injection, to produce a detecting signal; comparing the detecting value with a predetermined value for a plasticizing/measurement position set in a metering position setter, to calculate any deviation therebetween; and adding/substracting the deviation to or from predetermined values representative of switching-over positions set in switching-over position setters, thereby keeping constant an actual screw stroke from the plasticizing/measurement position to the switching-over position for every shot of the injection molding machine.

Method and apparatus for controlling screw positions in injection

A press apparatus for magnetic injection molding machines in which only the portion of a movable table in close contact with a lower metal mold is made ferromagnetic material and the other portion of the movable table is made of non-magnetic material, thereby fully utilizing the magnetic flux generated by magnetic coils with high efficiency and reducing the magnetic resistance of the magnetic circuit.

Press apparatus for magnetic injection molding machines

A plastic magnet injection molding machine comprises a stationary platen side and a movable platen side block each made of a ferromagnetic material and fixed to or integrated with a stationary and a movable platen, a stationary platen side and a movable platen side exciting coil arranged at the outer circumferences of respective ferromagnetic blocks, and a stationary platen side and a movable platen side cover each made of a non-magnetic material and attached to respective platens so as to surround the outer circumferences of the respective exciting coil and ferromagnetic block. The stationary platen side ferromagnetic block and non-magnetic cover have, respectively, surfaces each being in opposition to the movable platen and being flush with each other in a single plane parallel with the stationary platen. The movable platen side ferromagnetic block and non-magnetic cover have, respectively, surfaces each being in opposition to the stationary platen and being flush with each other in a single plane parallel with movable platen. Both of the single planes are formed with bolt holes for fitting stationary and movable molds, respectively.
