A load control server, computer program product, and method for controlling bottlenecks in an information system that includes application servers and a database server. Each application server executes at least one application program for processing a transaction received by each application server. The database server accesses a database based on a request received from an application server. A processing time required for each application program to process the transaction is monitored. A bottleneck relating to usage of at least one resource is detected. Each resource is a resource of at least one application server, a resource related to input to the transaction, a resource of the database server, or a resource related to the transaction. The detecting responds to the monitoring determining that the processing time for processing the transaction by at least one application server is not within a predesignated permissible processing time range. The detected bottleneck is removed.

Information system, load control method, load control program and recording medium

A method and system for managing server load to execute groups of transactions of an application program on N servers. A condition, ascertained for each transaction group, is that a current value of global multiplicity is not or is, respectively, less than a specified maximum value of global multiplicity. For each transaction group, an instruction is or is not issued to each server to change a current value of the maximum permitted local multiplicity for each server to a new value of the maximum permitted local multiplicity. For each transaction group: global multiplicity denotes a number of transactions concurrently performed by the N servers collectively; and local multiplicity for each server denotes a number of transactions concurrently performed by each server. The issuing or not issuing depends on the ascertained condition and whether the current value of the maximum local multiplicity is a default value for each server.

The present invention provides photocatalysts showing excellent sensitivity not only in ultraviolet light region but also in visible light region. The ultraviolet and visible light-sensitive titania-based photocatalysts according to the present invention are characterized by their composition as expressed by a general formula: TiSiNO(where 0.01&#x3c;x&#x3c;1 and 0.003&#x3c;y&#x3c;0.3). The invented photocatalysts have optical properties that the relative absorbance at 450 nm to that of 300 nm is not lower than 0.1 and the relative absorbance at 600 nm to that of 300 nm is not higher than 0.1.
