A camera is operable while connected to a plurality of accessory apparatus. The camera is configured to control communication with the plurality of accessory apparatus using a notification channel for notification with the plurality of accessory apparatus and a data communication channel for data communication with the plurality of accessory apparatus. The camera is configured to perform first communication for simultaneous communication with the plurality of accessory apparatus using the data communication channel, and second communication for individual communication with a specific accessory apparatus among the plurality of accessory apparatus using the data communication channel. The camera is configured to change a content of communication error processing according to a type of error when detecting the error based on information that is used to detect the error included in a data packet in performing the second communication by switching the specific accessory apparatus in a predetermined order.

A camera is operable while a plurality of accessory apparatuses are connected to the camera. The camera perform first communication for simultaneous communication with the plurality of accessory apparatuses using a data communication channel, and second communication for individual communication with a specific accessory apparatus among the plurality of accessory apparatuses using the data communication channel. In performing the second communication with the plurality of accessory apparatuses by switching between specific accessory apparatuses in a predetermined order within one or more communication periods, at least one of the communication period, a communication speed, a data packet number, a data packet length, and a combination and order of a communication source and a communication destination to be communicated for each communication period is determined based on accessory information acquired from the plurality of accessory apparatuses.
