An image forming apparatus includes an image carrier to carry a toner image, intermediate, primary, and secondary transfer members, and a voltage application member. The voltage application member applies a voltage to the image carrier. The secondary transfer member is in contact with an outer circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer member. The toner image carried on the image carrier is primarily transferred onto the intermediate transfer member in a state where the voltage application member applies the voltage to the image carrier. The intermediate transfer member has a volume resistivity from 5×10Ω·cm to 2×10Ω·cm inclusive. A relation ρs1/ρs2≥1.5 is satisfied, where ρs1 denotes a surface resistivity which is measured from the outer circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer member and ρs2 denotes a surface resistivity which is measured from an inner circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer member.

The controller uses the calculated stream function value &#x3c6;z(x, y) and vorticity &#x3c9;z(x, y) to calculate a fluid drag force acting on the cantilever. The controller substitutes the calculated fluid drag force into a displacement calculation equation to calculate the displacement h(z; t+1) of the one-dimensional beam at the subsequent time step t+1. The controller repeats such calculation for each grid point and further repeats it at each time step.

A method and system are provided that can realize data migration between volumes accessed by a host computer without stopping the host computer accessing the volumes. A host computeris connected to a storage subsystemvia pathsand, and the storage subsystemis connected to a storage subsystemvia a path(or pathsand). While data is being copied from an old volumein the storage subsystem(a migration source) to a new volumein the storage subsystem(a migration destination) via the path(or pathsand), if a request for I/O processing is sent from the host computer, the storage subsystemresponds and handles that I/O processing.

A technique is provided in which, even when the number of devices and device addresses handled in the storage apparatus side increases, it is possible to access all the devices and save used resources by simple control of the configuration definition information without adding the device addresses retained on the host side. An image generating apparatus is provided which can maximize the throughput without causing thermal damage of the fusing components. It determines a sub-thermistor temperature threshold value for switching small size paper feed intervals in response to a sub-thermistor initial temperature. It supplies a heating body with current for heating, and starts feeding recording mediums at the feed interval determined by a feed interval initial value. It makes a successively conveyed paper count. Every time the successively conveyed paper count reaches a paper count threshold value, it performs the switching control of the sub-thermistor temperature threshold value. If the sub-thermistor temperature exceeds the threshold value while the recording medium is passing through the fusing apparatus, it carries out the switching control of the feed intervals. In another mode, it prevents the extension of the paper feed interval of the paper conveyance during a specified paper count &#x3b1;.

A storage system comprising a host device, a storage device, a switching device, and a management terminal is provided. The host device has a plurality of first logical blocks. The storage device has a plurality of second logical blocks. The switching device transfers data between the host device and the storage device through a plurality of paths. The management terminal receives information on the first logical blocks from the host device, receives information on the second logical blocks from the storage device, and generates information showing connecting paths between the first logical blocks and the second logical blocks based on the information on the first logical blocks received and the information on the second logical blocks received. Accordingly, it is possible to get hold of the connected configuration of the first logical blocks and the second logical blocks.
