A scroll fluid machine comprises a fixed scroll, an orbiting scroll and a plurality of self-rotation preventing device for preventing the orbiting scroll from rotating on its own axis. On the rear surface of the orbiting scroll, a reinforcement bearing plate is fixed with a central bolt and an outer circumferential bolt. A follower of the self-rotation preventing device is provided in the reinforcement bearing plate. An oil-supply hole is formed through the reinforcement bearing plate to supply oil to the follower.

A scroll fluid machine comprises a housing having a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll revolved by a driving shaft which is driven by a motor behind the housing. A blowing fan is provided between the orbiting scroll and the motor. Rotation of the fan causes decompression in the housing to allow primary external air to be sucked from the outside into the housing through a primary sucking hole. Secondary external air is introduced from a secondary sucking hole and mixed with the primary external air of the scroll fluid machine to cool the parts of the scroll fluid machine in the housing and/or the motor.

A scroll fluid machine comprises a fixed scroll, an orbiting scroll and a self-rotation-preventing device for preventing the orbiting scroll from rotating on its own axis. The self-rotation-preventing device comprises a bearing in a support hole of the orbiting scroll, a crank pin which connects the orbiting scroll to the orbiting scroll, and an adjusting member interposed between the inner circumferential surface of the support hole and the outer circumferential surface of the bearing to correct an error in orbiting motion between the two scrolls.

In a scroll fluid machine, a stationary scroll and an orbiting scroll are provided. On the stationary scroll opposing the orbiting scroll, an annular groove is formed. An O-ring, a flexible support ring and a sliding member are put in the annular groove. The support ring has legs between which the O-ring is held. The sliding member in sliding contact with the annular groove is placed on the support ring, thereby decreasing deterioration and keeping stable sealing.

In a scroll fluid machine, an orbiting scroll is eccentrically revolved with respect to a stationary scroll so that fluid in a sealed chamber between the stationary and orbiting scrolls may be compressed toward a center. A first magnet is mounted on the stationary scroll and a second magnet is mounted on the orbiting scroll so that the same poles of the first and second scrolls may be opposite to each other thereby preventing the orbiting scroll from pressing the stationary scroll excessively.

A first fixed scroll has a first fixed wrap, and a first orbiting scroll has a first orbiting wrap. The first orbiting scroll is rotatably mounted to an eccentric portion of a driving shaft. The first fixed wrap is engaged with the first orbiting wrap to form a first compression chamber in which pressure is changed towards the center of the first orbiting scroll. A second fixed scroll has a second fixed wrap and a second orbiting scroll has a second orbiting wrap which is engaged with the second fixed wrap. The first orbiting scroll is connected to the second orbiting scroll by a pin inserted a partition wall between the first and second orbiting scrolls, thereby rotating the first orbiting scroll together with the second orbiting scroll when the first orbiting scroll is driven by the driving shaft via the eccentric portion.

An oil-free two-stage vacuum pump includes first and second pump stages coupled in series. The first and second pump stages have discharge spaces capable of communicating with each other via a bypass passage. The bypass passage is provided with a pressure control valve which is closed when pressure in the bypass passage is lower than a predetermined pressure. This permits a reduction in scroll size. In addition, the pump is free from problems present in pumps with large scroll sizes such as drive shaft vibrations due to warping thereof at high speed rotation, noise and heat generation, and durability reduction due to causes such as non-uniform contact between stationary and revolving scrolls. Moreover, in a compression step in the first pump stage, withdrawn gas is under high pressure; the gas pressure in a sealed vessel is close to the atmospheric pressure in an initial stage of driving. With a pressure increase beyond a predetermined pressure, a pressure control valve is opened so that compressed gas under high pressure is no longer supplied to the second pump stage; the compressed gas is instead exhausted to the outside environment. The second pump stage thus does not withdraw compressed gas under a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, and is free from heat generation that might result from excessive compression.

It is sought to provide an oil-free scroll vacuum pump, which can discharge condensed fluid in it to the outside. An oil-free scroll vacuum pump body 1 for withdrawing fluid from a vessel to be evacuated, compressing the fluid and discharging the compressed fluid to the outside, comprises a stationary scroll constituted by a housing half 4 and a wrap 7, another stationary scroll constituted by a housing half 5 and a wrap 6, and a revolving scroll 3. The housing half 4 has a gas ballast gas inlet duct 10 and an inlet port 4a, and the revolving scroll 3 has a communication hole 3e. Gas is introduced through the inlet port 4e into a sealed space defined by wraps of the individual scrolls engaged with one another. The introduced gas is compressed together with compression fluid in the sealed space, and the resultant fluid is discharged through a discharge port 4c to the outside.
