An apparatus transfers a data signal along a transmission route that is set by a route determination device. The apparatus includes a data transmission unit and a controller. The data transmission unit receives the data signal from an upstream node adjacent to the apparatus in an upstream direction of the data signal along the transmission route, and transfers the data signal to a downstream node adjacent to the apparatus in a downstream direction of the data signal along the transmission route. The controller controls power supply to the data transmission unit, and transmits a route-reconfiguration instruction for reconfiguring the transmission route, to the route determination device, upon receiving, when power supply to the data transmission unit is stopped, from the route determination device, a path-creation request for requesting creation of a path on the transmission route.

Apparatus and method for transferring a data signal by bypassing a power-saving segment in a communication network

A control scheme is disclosed for controlling establishment of a standby channel route for an active channel route in a GMPLS network made up of plural transmission apparatuses. The standby channel route is formed by at least one standby channel route transmission apparatus, an ingress transmission apparatus, and an egress transmission apparatus. The control scheme involves transmitting from the ingress transmission apparatus to the standby channel route transmission apparatus a standby channel path establishing message including pre-reserve information for directing the standby channel route transmission apparatus to pre-reserve a standby channel path of the standby channel route, and setting the standby channel path to pre-reserved status within a band management table of the standby channel route transmission apparatus. The standby channel path that is set to pre-reserved status within the standby channel route transmission apparatus is externally recognized as free by the other transmission apparatuses.

Control scheme for standby channel route

An inverter system which converts DC input into AC output and supplies the AC output to a load such as an FL tube detects change in a circuit current due to anomaly such as discharge without contacting with a current route. Relating to an inverter which converts DC input into AC output and supplies the AC output to a load, change in a circuit current of the inverter is detected through the medium of magnetic flux change due to the change in the circuit current caused by discharge. For example, if change in a current occurs in the circuit current of the inverter by disconnection discharge or ground-fault discharge occurring in a current route including a load of the inverter, magnetic flux change occurs in circuit wiring and a space of a core gap of a transformer of the inverter. The change in the circuit current is detected through the medium of the magnetic flux change without contacting with the circuit wiring or the transformer.

Anomaly detection in inverter system

In a clock management apparatus for a synchronous network system, when the quality of a clock signal is deteriorated, the clock signal is switched to another clock signal automatically to continue synchronous communication. Clock signals are received and extracted by transmission/receiving units of the synchronous network system. A plurality of clock signals including the extracted clock signals and a clock signal from an external clock are selectively switched by a clock switching unit, and a master clock signal is selected and output based on quality information transferred with each clock signal. The master clock signal is applied to a clock generator generate a clock signal. A quality control table is used to convert quality information into associated quality levels. A quality determination processing unit issues an alarm when the quality level of the master clock signal is deteriorated beyond a threshold provided by a synchronization management table.
