Provided are an electrophotographic photoconductor that is less likely to cause transfer ghosting even when mounted in an electrophotographic apparatus with high transfer voltage set for high-speed or cleanerless processes, as well as a method of manufacturing the electrophotographic photoconductor, and an electrophotographic apparatus. The electrophotographic photoconductor includes a conductive substrate; an undercoat layer provided on the conductive substrate, and a photosensitive layer provided on the undercoat layer. In the electrophotographic photoconductor, the undercoat layer contains a resin binder and a first filler; and the first filler contains zinc oxide particles that are surface-treated with an N-acylated amino acid or an N-acylated amino acid salt.

Electrophotographic photoconductor, method of manufacturing the same, and electrophotographic apparatus

Provided are an electrophotographic photoconductor being resistant to abrasion even in long-term use, having highly sensitive electric characteristics, being capable of maintaining a high retention rate, and being capable of providing a stable image without filming, a method of manufacturing the same, and an electrophotographic device. The photoconductor includes an electroconductive substrate (), a charge generation layer (), and a charge transport layer (); the charge transport layer contains a hole transport material, a resin binder, an electron transport material, and an inorganic oxide; the charge generation layer contains a charge generation material; the masses of the hole transport material, the resin binder, the electron transport material, and the inorganic oxide in the charge transport layer respectively denoted by a to d satisfy 1.5&#x2264;b/a&#x2264;5.7, 0.005&#x2264;c/a&#x2264;0.35, 0.05&#x2264;d/a&#x2264;0.70, a&#x2265;c+d, and c/d&#x2265;0.01; the hole transport material contains a compound expressed by formula (A-1); and the charge generation material contains titanyl phthalocyanine having an exothermic peak at 251&#xb1;5&#xb0; C., a half-value width of the exothermic peak equal to or less than 15&#xb0; C., and a heating value equal to or greater than 1.0 mJ/mg when a temperature rise condition is 20&#xb0; C./min in differential scanning calorimetry, and having an X-ray diffraction peak at 27.2&#xb1;0.3&#xb0;.

A photoconductor for electrophotography includes a base member; an anodic oxide coating provided on the base member and having a film thickness of 2 to 10 &#x3bc;m; an interlayer provided on the anodic oxide coating and containing a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer resin and having a film thickness of 0.02 to 0.3 &#x3bc;m; and a photosensitive layer including a charge transport layer formed on the interlayer and containing a charge transport material and a first resin binder, and a charge generation layer laminated on the charge transport layer and containing a charge generation material, a hole transport material, a first electron transport material that is a naphthalenetetracarboxylic diimide compound, a second electron transport material that is an azoquinone compound, a diphenoquinone compound, or a stilbenequinone compound and that has a mobility of 17&#xd7;10cm/V&#xb7;s or more, and a second resin binder.

Photoconductor having interlayer for hole injection promotion

An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes an electroconductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer that is formed on the electroconductive substrate and that contains an inorganic oxide and a lubricant resin which contains a polycarbonate resin having a siloxane structure therein or a polyarylate resin having a siloxane structure therein. When light having a wavelength of 780 nm is irradiated onto a slurry containing 20% by mass of the inorganic oxide in a predetermined solvent to provide an inorganic oxide slurry, the inorganic oxide slurry has a light transmittance that is 80% or more. The photosensitive layer may be a negatively-charged laminate-type photosensitive layer, a monolayer type photosensitive layer, or a positively-charged laminate-type photosensitive layer. The electrophotographic photoreceptor is less worn upon long-term use, allows no filming, and can realize stable images. A method for producing the electrophotographic photoreceptor and an electrophotographic apparatus including the electrophotographic photoreceptor are disclosed.

A photoreceptor for electrophotography includes a photosensitive layer provided on a conductive substrate that contains at least a resin binder, a charge transport material, and an additive. The photoreceptor exhibits high photoresponsivity, stable electrical properties regardless of repeated use thereof, and high durability. The resin binder contains a polycarbonate resin composed of a copolymer having structural units expressed by general formulae (1) and (2) below. The charge transport material contains at least one type of stilbene compound expressed by general formulae (3), (4), and (5) below. The additive contains at least one type of diester compound expressed by general formula (6) below.

In a negatively-chargeable laminate-type electrophotographic photoreceptor, a charge generation layer and another charge transport layer are arranged on a conductive substrate directly or via an intermediate layer. Provided are an electrophotographic photoconductor that satisfies sufficient wear resistance as well as various characteristics as a photoconductor, and that is little affected by harmful gas or the temperature and humidity environment, and a method for producing such an electrophotographic photoconductor. The electrophotographic photoconductor has at least a photosensitive layer on a conductive substrate. The photosensitive layer contains a diadamantyl diester compound represented by Formula (I) (in Formula (I), R, Rand Reach independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6 alkoxyl group, a C6-C20 aryl group or a heterocyclic group; l, m and n each represent an integer from 1 to 4; U and W represent a single bond or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6 alkylene group; and V represents an OCO group or a COO group).

A biphenyl derivative is included in a photosensitive layer of an electrophotographic photoconductor. The electrophotographic photoconductor includes a single-layer photosensitive layer coated on a conductive substrate. The photosensitive layer includes a resin binder, a charge generation substance, a hole transport substance, and an electron transport substance. An electrophotographic apparatus using such an electrophotographic photoconductor has excellent electrical characteristics in a positive chargine system and is stable in repeated use.

An electrophotographic photoconductor which is a positive charging, single layer type organic photoconductor including a conductive substrate; and a photosensitive layer which is provided on the conductive substrate, which is a positive charging, single layer type organic photoconductor, and which is composed of at least one charge generation substance that contains a phthalocyanine pigment; a positive hole transport substance; an electron transport substance; and a binder that contains a polycarbonate resin with a polydialkylsilozane constructed of a repeated unit represented by formula (1). Toner consumption during repeated electrophotographic use is reduced and print defects including dirty background suppressed.

Electrophotographic photoconductor

In a electrophotographic photoconductor having a single layer type photosensitive layer,laminated directly or through an undercoat layer,on an electroconductive substrate,, the single layer type photosensitive layer,contains at least a resin binder, a charge generating substance, a hole transfer substance and an electron transfer substance, wherein the hole transfer substance is a compound represented by the general formula (HT1) shown below and an electrophotographic apparatus comprise this photoconductor. This electrophotographic photoconductor has good electric property in positive charge and good stability in repeated use.

An electrophotographic photoconductor is provided which principally consists of an electrically conductive substrate, a charge generation layer, and a charge transport layer which contains an orange dye compound. Preferably, the orange dye compound is selected from the group consisting of 1-o-tolylazo-2-naphthol, 5-(9-anthracenyl methylene) amino-3-methyl-1-tolylpyrazole, 4,5-diiodo-3,6-fluoranediol, and 4,5-dibromo-3,6-fluoranediol.
