A totally aerated combustion burner has a combustion plate part through which an air-fuel mixture is ejected. The combustion plate part includes: an air-fuel mixture permeable body made from metallic fibers to allow the air-fuel mixture to pass therethrough; and a distribution plate having formed therein a multiplicity of distribution holes and being stacked on a back surface of the air-fuel mixture permeable body. An air-fuel mixture permeable body is constructed by laminating a plurality of metallic-fiber woven bodies which are woven by metallic-fiber threads obtained by bundling a plurality of metallic fibers relatively large in diameter. These metallic-fiber woven bodies are laminated such that a part of meshes in one metallic-fiber woven body overlaps a portion other than meshes in another metallic-fiber woven body, said one metallic-fiber woven body and said another metallic-fiber woven body that lies adjacent to each other in the laminating direction.

Totally aerated combustion burner

A controller memorizes an accumulated combustion time by accumulating combustion time of a burner, and is set in a first lower-limit and a second lower-limit higher than the first lower-limit as a lower-limit lower than an initial value of an excess air ratio when reducing an excess air limit of a mixture gas of combustion air and a fuel gas, and the former is the lower-limit in case the accumulated combustion time is under a predetermined set time and the latter is the one in case the accumulated combustion time is the predetermined set time and over.

Combustion apparatus

A fixing plate for the thermal insulation material is attached to the combustion plate flange part. Provided that a direction leaving away from the air-fuel mixture ejection part of the combustion plate is defined as an outward side direction, there are disposed: on the side edge in the outward side direction of the fixing plate, bent edge parts, which come into contact with the side edge in the outward side direction of the thermal insulation materials; and a plurality of tongue-shaped pressing claws which are elongated from the bent edge part so as to press and prevent the thermal insulation materials from getting released away from the fixing plate.

A flame rod () including: a rod portion () made of a metal material containing aluminum; and a protective cover layer () containing a cover material having high conductivity and high heat resistance, wherein the protective cover layer () covers a surface of an insertion portion (A) of the flame rod (), and the protective cover layer () has a thickness of 0.002 mm or more and less than 0.1 mm.

Flame rod

A burner has: a combustion plate part for ejecting air-fuel mixture; and a flame rod which lies opposite to a portion of the combustion plate part which has a picture-frame-like burner frame; a metal-fiber knit which covers an opening enclosed by the burner frame; and a distribution plate which has formed therein distribution holes and which sandwiches the metal-fiber knit between the burner frame and the distribution plate through the distribution holes and the metal-fiber knit. The flame rod has: a rod base part which lies opposite to a portion of opening peripheral part of the burner frame which is positioned on the same surface level as the opening; and a rod main body part which lies opposite to a portion of the metal-fiber knit. The distance between the rod base part and the opening peripheral part is made smaller than the distance between the rod main body part and the metal-fiber knit.

Burner

A totally primary air combustion type of burner has a combustion plate with a plurality of slit-shaped flame holes for ejecting therethrough air-fuel mixture for combustion. The combustion plate has a plurality of flame-hole rows having flame holes arranged in an X-axis (longitudinal) direction at a predetermined pitch in a Y-axis (lateral or shorter) direction. First flame-hole rows with position of flame holes and second flame-hole rows with position of flame holes with deviation by half a pitch in the Y-axis direction, are alternately arrayed in parallel with one another in the X-axis direction. A plurality of positions in the Y-axis direction of one of the first and the second flame-hole rows are provided with thinned portions (portions where no flame holes are formed) so that the pitch between the flame holes becomes two times the predetermined pitch.

Totally primary air combustion type of burner

An exhaust duct has a riser duct section which is connected to an exhaust port having such an inlet port at a lower portion of the riser duct section as is connected to an exhaust port for the combustion gas. The riser duct section extends upward along an external surface of the combustion box. A horizontal direction perpendicular to the front-to-back direction is defined as a lateral direction, then the riser duct section is formed into a flat shape having a smaller dimension in the front-to-back direction than the dimension in the lateral direction. Fluctuations in width between front-side and back-side plate parts of the riser duct section are devised to be restrained, and increase in size can be avoided. The riser duct section has a rail inside the riser duct section, the rail being elongated in the vertical direction and connecting together the front-side and the back-side plate parts.

Exhaust duct

A combustion plate is for use in a totally aerated combustion burner in which a plate main body made of ceramic has formed therein a multiplicity of flame holes for ejecting a premixed gas. The plate main body is provided, in a lattice shape, with non-flame-hole sections free of flame holes. Each of those sections of the plate main body which are enclosed by the non-flame-hole sections constitutes a collective flame-hole section having formed therein in a crowded manner a plurality of flame holes. Flame holes formed in those peripheral portions of the collective flame-hole sections which are adjacent to the non-flame-hole sections are smaller in diameter than the diameter of the flame holes formed in those portions of the collective flame-hole sections which are inner than the peripheral portions.

Combustion plate

A combustion plate for use in a totally aerated combustion burner has a ceramic plate body with a multiplicity of flame holes formed therein for ejecting a premixed gas. The plate body is provided, in a lattice shape, with non-flame-hole portions having no flame holes therein. Each of such regions of the plate body as are enclosed by the non-flame-hole portions constitutes a collective flame-hole portion having formed therein a plurality of flame holes. It is so arranged that flame lifting can be effectively prevented in the flame holes on the periphery of the collective flame-hole portions. Along each of such sides of the non-flame-hole portions as are adjacent to each of the collective flame-hole portions, outside flame holes are formed at a predetermined spacing therebetween in a longitudinal direction of the non-flame-hole portions. This predetermined spacing is greater than a spacing, in the longitudinal direction of the non-flame-hole portion.

An image reading apparatus configured to read images of both surfaces of a document is provided. The image reading apparatus may include a first image reading device configured to read an image of a first surface of a document, a second image reading device configured to read an image of a second surface of the document, and a document conveying mechanism configured to convey the document from the second image reading device to the first image reading device. The first image reading device has a first reading range, and the second image reading device has a second reading range, which is smaller than the first reading range.

Image reading apparatus

An image reading apparatus may include a main unit and a cover unit pivotally attached to the main unit. The cover unit may include an image reading device configured to read an image of a document along a conveying path. The image reading device may include a contact image sensor, a sensor holder to hold the contact image sensor, an urging member, and a shock absorber. The contact image sensor is disposed below the conveying path. The sensor holder has an open top boxed shape and holds the contact image sensor in position inside. The urging member is disposed in an inner bottom surface of the sensor holder to urge the contact image sensor toward the conveying path. The shock absorber is disposed between a bottom surface of the contact image sensor and the inner bottom surface of the sensor holder, and is made of a porous material.

An image reading apparatus having a lower unit with a controller and an upper unit rotatably attached to the lower unit to rotate about a rear end of the upper unit is provided. The upper unit includes a sheet conveyer, an upper image reader connected with the controller via a flat cable, and an external covering. A rearward-extending section of the flat cable extends rearward from the upper image reader and is drawn in an area below a part of a frame of the sheet conveyer and to a rear section of the upper unit to reach an inner surface of the external covering at the rear end of the upper unit. A widthwise-extending section of the flat cable extends from the rear end of the upper unit along the inner surface of the external covering in a direction orthogonal to reach an outlet of the upper unit.
