A linear compressor is provided in which a driving spring and an elastic supporting member for supporting a compressing mechanism portion are disposed such that a piston and the compressing mechanism portion move in opposite phases such that vibration of a hermetic vessel is canceled out. The linear compressor comprises a hermetic vessel having a compressing mechanism portion and a linear motor therein. The compressing mechanism portion includes a piston-side mechanism and a cylinder-side mechanism, the former includes the piston and the mechanism member which is movable together with the piston, the latter includes the cylinder and the stator which connects with the cylinder. The cylinder-side mechanism member is elastically supported at opposite ends in the hermetic vessel by a first elastic member, and a reciprocating force in the axial direction is given the piston-side mechanism by a second elastic member whose one end is supported by the hermetic vessel.

Linear compressor with vibration canceling spring arrangement

The present invention has an object to provide a method for generating vibration and a vibration generating apparatus for allowing a single unit to provide a call signal by way of sound and body-sensible vibration. According to the method for generating vibration of the invention, first and second vibration systems having different resonance frequencies from each other are magnetically coupled to each other and a state of energy externally supplied to the systems is selected thereby causing the first vibration system to vibrate relative to the second vibration system for generating a body-sensible vibration, for example. By changing the state of the energy, the second vibration system is caused to vibrate relative to the first vibration system for generating sound.

Vibration generating apparatus

A flat display device includes cathodes, a screen plate having a fluorescent screen, a plate-like electrode for controlling electron beams from the cathodes to the fluorescent screen, and a frame body for supporting the plate-like electrode. The frame body securely fixes both ends of the plate-like electrode at two opposite sides thereof, and has an elastic body for supporting the plate-like electrode in a stretched state by a spring force of the elastic body. The flat display device is made by the steps of pressing a pair of leaf springs provided respectively at two confronting sides of a frame body to thereby bend the frame body in such directions that the confronting sides become close to each other, securely fixing both ends of a plate-like electrode to the pair of bent leaf springs, and releasing the pressing of the leaf springs to thereby restore the leaf springs.

Flat display device and manufacturing method thereof

A method for fixing to a frame an electrode or a shadow mask for an image receiving tube. The method includes steps for stretching, in opposite directions, supporting ends of a rectangular mask plate having apertures formed between the supporting ends, in order to generate a tensile force having a uniform distribution over the entire surface of the plate. The method also includes pressing inwardly and bending a pair of elastic supporting elements, constituting two confronting sides of a frame, so that a distribution of the pressing force in a direction of each of the sides almost balances with a distribution of the tensile force. The supporting ends of the mask plate are then rigidly fixed to both of the bent supporting elements of the frame. The stretching and pressing forces applied to the mask plate and the frame are then released.

An ultrasonic wire bonding apparatus and method is capable of maintaining a sufficient clearance between the horn and bonding surface, and thereby increase the working area without using a long horn. In the ultrasonic wire bonding apparatus, a capillary is located at the front end of a horn for holding a wire that is directly supported at the front end of the horn. The capillary is long enough to maintain a sufficient clearance between the horn and the bonding surface. Alternatively, a capillary, which is located at the front end of a horn for holding a wire, is short and is supported at the front end of the horn through a joint or extension. The total length of the joint and the capillary is enough to maintain a sufficient clearance between the horn and the bonding surface.

A color selecting electrode for a color-picture tube, includes a rectangular frame-shaped frame having a pair of mutually-opposite long sides and a pair of mutually-opposite short sides, and a mask plate which is stretchedly supported on top surfaces of the frame while receiving a resilient spring force exerted from the frame, the long sides having a greater section modulus and a greater rigidity than the short sides. A method of manufacturing the color selecting electrode includes the step of welding, to the frame pressed inward by an equally-distributed force applied to the pair of long sides and the pair of short sides, the mask plate of which four sides are stretched outward by a distributed force which approximately counterbalances the equally distributed force.
