A vehicle control device mounted on a vehicle includes a power storage device, a drive device configured to be driven by electric power from the power storage device, a system main relay attached to a power line between the power storage device and the drive device, and a charge circuit connected to a side of the drive device through the system main relay of the power line, in which the vehicle control device is configured to turn off the system main relay and prohibit reactivation of the system in a power shortage of the power storage device. The vehicle control device is configured to permit the system main relay to be turned on in a case where charging of the power storage device using the charge circuit is requested.

Vehicle control device

A vehicle control device includes a power storage device, a drive device, a system main relay attached to a power line, and a charge circuit connected to the power line on a side of the drive device from the system main relay. The vehicle control device turns off the system main relay in a power shortage of the power storage device, and store a power shortage state of the power storage device to prohibit reactivation of the system. The vehicle control device, when charging of the power storage device using the charge circuit is requested, determines whether the power shortage state of the power storage device is stored, and when the power shortage state of the power storage device is stored, releases prohibition of system reactivation when an output limit of the power storage device reaches predetermined electric power or more due to charging.

An electrically driven vehicle comprises a motor; a power storage device; a first power supply device connected with a power line; a charging device configured to charge the power storage device by using electric power from an external power source; and a second power supply device configured to supply part of the electric power from the external power source to auxiliary machinery via the charging device. The electrically driven vehicle performs a charging efficiency determination process that calculates a charging efficiency as a ratio of a charging power of the power storage device to an input power of the charging device, and that determines whether the charging efficiency is lower than a predetermined efficiency. When the charging efficiency determination process determines that the charging efficiency is lower than the predetermined efficiency, the electrically driven vehicle stops the second power supply device and performs the charging efficiency determination process again.

Electrically driven vehicle

A vehicle includes an electric power converter; an electric power storage device; a control unit. The control unit is configured to i) increase command electric power stepwise by a specified reference amount toward target electric power, ii) after the command electric power reaches the target electric power, reduce the command electric power each time a voltage of the electric power storage device exceeds a first threshold voltage, and iii) stop supply of electric power from an external power supply when the voltage of the electric power storage device reaches a second threshold voltage that is higher than the first threshold voltage. The specified reference amount is set such that an increased amount of the voltage of the electric power storage device at each step of increasing the command electric power is smaller than a voltage difference between the second threshold voltage and the first threshold voltage.

Vehicle and method of charging electric power storage device

A hybrid vehicle includes an engine, a first MG (motor generator), a second MG, a battery electrically connected to the first MG and the second MG, an engine ECU configured to control the engine, and a hybrid ECU (Electronic Control Unit) configured to control the first MG and the second MG and communicate with the engine ECU. When an abnormality of communication with the engine ECU is not found and a history of an abnormality of the engine main body is not found and electric power generated by the first MG during cranking of the engine is lower than electric power receivable by the battery during MD (Motor Drive) running (fail-safe running) in which the engine is stopped, the hybrid ECU achieves recovery to normal running in which actuation of the engine is permitted, with cranking of the engine by power generation torque of the first MG.

Hybrid vehicle

An estimation apparatus of estimating a deterioration state of a secondary battery has a current sensor measuring an electric current of the secondary battery, a current estimating section estimating the electric current of the secondary battery by using a battery model, and a deterioration estimating section estimating a second deterioration component produced in association with a salt concentration imbalance in the secondary battery. The deterioration estimating section estimates the second deterioration component by using the measured current obtained from the current sensor, the estimated current obtained from the current estimating section, and a first deterioration component produced in association with wear of the secondary battery. The deterioration estimating section corrects the estimated current by using a ratio between a resistance change rate of the secondary battery when the second deterioration component is eliminated and a resistance change rate during charge and discharge of the secondary battery.

Deterioration state estimation apparatus and deterioration state estimation method for secondary battery

A charge control system () includes an electric power storage device (), a variation suppression coefficient setting section () which sets a variation suppression coefficient, a variation suppression operation processing section which operates a charged state estimation operation value, and a charged state estimation section which estimates a charged state of the electric power storage device. The variation suppression coefficient setting section (), when the charged state estimation operation value drops within a predetermined period during charging of the electric power storage device (), changes the variation suppression coefficient such that, of the voltage across the electric power storage device detected by a voltage sensor () and a charged state estimation operation value which is obtained by the previous operation, a ratio of the voltage across the electric power storage device which is detected by the voltage detection section is smaller, for operating the charged state estimation operation value after the predetermined period.

Charge control system

A power supply system for a hybrid vehicle includes a main power storage device and a plurality of sub power storage devices used selectively. When an SOC of one of the plurality of sub power storage devices decreases to a predetermined value or smaller, an ECU selects this sub power storage device as a sub power storage device to be charged. The ECU controls a connecting unit such that the sub power storage device to be charged is connected to a second converter. Furthermore, the ECU selects the HV mode as the travel mode. In the HV mode, electrical energy stored in an electric powered vehicle is maintained because of electric power generation by an engine.
