Problem To provide a revolutionary airbag device that can protect an occupant's head from one side, to the front, to the other side. Resolution Means The present invention is an airbag device stored in a vehicle seat, the airbag device including: an inflator for generating expansion gas; and an airbag for deploying from near an upper end of the vehicle seat to protect the periphery of the head of an occupant. Furthermore, the airbag includes: a first chamber for protecting one side of an occupant; a second chamber connected to the first chamber and for protecting the front of the occupant's head; a third chamber connected to the second chamber and for deploying from the front of the occupant's head across to the other side of the occupant; and a fourth chamber connected to the third chamber and for deploying at the other side of the occupant.

Airbag device

To provide a motorcycle airbag device that contributes to the stabilization of the deployment behavior and the deployment posture of the airbag. An airbag device mounted on a motorcycle having a gas generator that generates an expansion gas, where the airbag is expanded by the expansion gas, and by deploying in front of the occupant, restrains forward movement of the occupant. Furthermore, the airbag has a stepped portion that protrudes forward when deployed and is supported by a structural portion around the top of the handlebars of the motorcycle.

Motorcycle airbag device

A saddle-ride type vehicle includes a retainer that is provided behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The retainer is disposed below a handlebar. The airbag is formed in a bag shape by a joining structure of a front surface and a rear surface, and a panel that forms a circumferential length difference between the front surface and the rear surface in a side view is provided at a coupling portion between the front surface and the rear surface.

Saddle-ride type vehicle

The configuration of an airbag module according to the present invention includes an airbag cushion, an inflator equipped in this airbag cushion, and housing for stowing this airbag cushion, wherein the housing has a convex polygonal shape in cross-section and has an opening on the upper side, and when the airbag cushion expands and deploys, a first pair of mutually opposed side surfaces expand separating from each other, the airbag module further comprises a cover covering the opening and side surfaces of the housing, and of the cover, the upper surface portion that covers the opening of the housing is formed with a first weak portion that extends in the longitudinal direction of the upper surface portion, is weaker than the area surrounding thereof, and is cleaved by the separation of the first pair of side surfaces.

Airbag module

To enable a retainer to be easily manufactured in accordance with a position where an inflator is disposed. In an airbag device for a saddled vehicle including: a retainer provided behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag accommodated in the retainer, the airbag being configured to be expanded by gas released by the inflator and deployed in front of a passenger, the retainer has a box shape formed by assembling a plurality of components, the inflator is disposed to be offset outward in a vehicle width direction relative to the head pipe, the first component covers the inflator from a vehicle front side, a second component is provided behind the head pipe, and a third component is provided on a side of the passenger and is fitted to the second component and the first component from a back side.

Airbag device for saddled vehicle

A saddle riding-type vehicle includes a retainer that is provided behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The airbag includes a proximal end portion that is positioned in the retainer when the airbag is deployed and an outward deployment portion that extends from the proximal end portion and is deployed to the outside of the retainer when the airbag is deployed. A tab is provided on the proximal end portion, and the tab is fixed to the retainer.

Saddle riding-type vehicle

A saddle-ride type vehicle includes a retainer that is disposed behind a head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag that is housed in the retainer, inflates by gas discharged by the inflator, and is deployed in front of an occupant. The airbag is housed in the retainer and includes a proximal end-side folded portion folded in a roll shape or a bellows shape, an intermediate-side folded portion extending from the proximal end-side folded portion and folded above the proximal end-side folded portion, and a distal end-side folded portion extending from the intermediate-side folded portion and folded in a roll or bellows shape in a cross section in a vehicle side view. The intermediate-side folded portion has a plurality of folding-back points at which folding is made along the distal end-side folded portion in a front-rear direction of the distal end-side folded.

A representative configuration of an airbag module including a folded or rolled airbag cushion, an inflator provided in the airbag cushion, and a case type housing for stowing the airbag cushion, wherein the housing is rectangular shaped in cross-sectional view and includes a first member forming at least one side wall of the rectangular shape, a second member that forms the remaining two or more side walls of the rectangular shape, and a rotational shaft connecting the first member and the second member enabling mutual relative rotation, and upon expansion and deployment of the airbag cushion, one of either the first member or second member rotates relative to the other around the rotational shaft causing the opening of an upper part of the case type housing to open up.

A configuration of the airbag module according to the present invention is an airbag module including an airbag cushion that is folded or wound, an inflator equipped in the airbag cushion, and a case-shaped housing where the airbag cushion is stowed. Herein, the housing includes four side walls, the upper part thereof being open; one side wall of the four side walls and two side walls positioned and connected on both sides thereof; and two extendable walls and at the opening above the four side walls that are in a folded state prior to expansion and deployment of the airbag cushion and open up when the airbag cushion expands and deploys.

The present invention is an airbag device that is housed in the instrument panel of a vehicle and includes an inflator for generating inflation gas and an airbag that inflates and deploys toward the occupant side via gas released from the inflator. The airbag has a front protection part located in front of the occupant when deployed and a pair of side protruding parts located on the sides of the front protection part in the vehicle width direction and protruding further toward the occupant side than the front protection part. Furthermore, a cross tether extending in the direction intersecting the deployment direction of the airbag and connected to the inner surface of the airbag along with a pair of first front-rear tethers connected to the cross tether at the front ends thereof and connected to the front protection part at the rear ends thereof are provided inside the airbag.

In a saddled vehicle including: a vehicle body including a head pipe that supports a steering system and a down frame that extends downward from the head pipe; a retainer provided behind the head pipe; an inflator; and an airbag accommodated in the retainer, the airbag being configured to be expanded by gas released by the inflator and deployed in front of the passenger, the retainer is provided with a fastening portion that fastens the retainer to the vehicle body, and the fastening portion includes a plurality of fastening members.
