A percutaneous absorption preparation including donepezil for the treatment of dementia is disclosed. The percutaneous absorption preparation for the treatment of dementia includes a support layer, a drug-containing layer, and a release layer, wherein the drug-containing layer contains donepezil or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof as an active ingredient; monothioglycerol, thiocyanate metal salt (preferably potassium salt) or dimethylthiourea as a stabilizer; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Also disclosed is a percutaneous absorption preparation for the treatment of dementia with reduced the formation of donepezil impurities.

Percutaneous absorption preparation comprising stabilized donepezil

A percutaneous absorption preparation is disclosed. The percutaneous absorption preparation contains donepezil for treatment of dementia, wherein the preparation includes: (a) donepezil or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as active component, (b) propylene glycol monocaprylate as solubilizer, and (c) styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer ('SIS') as adhesive. The percutaneous absorption preparation has low skin irritation and high skin penetration.

Percutaneous absorption preparation for treating dementia comprising donepezil

The present invention provides a transdermal absorption preparation in which a drug-containing adhesive layer is formed on a support, the aforementioned adhesive layer contains at least a thermoplastic elastomer and a higher fatty acid ester, and a content of a tackifier is not more than 10 wt %, which is superior in drug solubility and releasability, as well as adhesiveness to the skin and low irritation to the skin.

The present invention provides a patch containing an adhesive layer maintaining a drug, which is formed on a support, wherein the aforementioned adhesive layer comprises a thermoplastic elastomer, a non-volatile hydrocarbon oil in an amount exceeding 50 parts by weight and not more than 800 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the elastomer, and rivastigmine or a salt thereof, and the aforementioned adhesive layer optionally further contains a tackifier at a content in the adhesive layer of not more than 10 wt %.

The invention provides an adhesive sheet for skin, which shows sufficient adhesiveness to the skin and causes low skin irritation. The adhesive sheet contains an adhesive layer formed on a support, in which the adhesive layer contains at least a thermoplastic elastomer, a non-volatile hydrocarbon oil, and polyisobutylene, but no tackifier. The polyisobutylene is a medium molecular weight polyisobutylene with a viscosity average molecular weight of more than 100,000 and not more than 500,000. The invention also provides a percutaneous absorption preparation containing a drug or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in an adhesive layer of the inventive adhesive sheet for skin.
