The present invention relates to an air cleaner element holding structure for an air cleaner device for use in filtering intake air for an engine. The air cleaner device includes an air cleaner element and an element holder, provided in an air cleaner case. The air cleaner element includes at least a pair of element support plates and the element holder includes at least a pair of circular plates. The air cleaner case includes an intake duct facing an inner circumferential side of the air cleaner element for conducting air thereto. Each of the support plates has an outer diameter that is larger than that of the air cleaner element. The element support plates support the air cleaner element in such a manner that both ends, in the axial direction, of the element holder contact an inside surface, in the axial direction, of the element support plates.

Air cleaner element holding structure

An air cleaner is disposed on an upper side of an engine. The air cleaner and an intake port of the engine can be easily connected without enlarging the interval between a left-right pair of frames. A saddle ride type vehicle includes a longitudinally laid crankshaft type engine having a crankcase, a cylinder and a cylinder head. A left-right pair of frames support the engine. An air cleaner is disposed on the upper side relative to the engine with the frames therebetween. The air cleaner takes air in through an intake duct connected to the engine through a throttle body provided in a case. The engine is disposed so that the cylinder is inclined to one side and the one side of the cylinder head is disposed near one of the frames. The throttle body is disposed between the other frame and the other side of the cylinder head.

Saddle ride type vehicle

An engine arrangement structure of a saddle-ride type vehicle includes an engine having a crankcase and a cylinder part overhung upwardly from the crankcase. An alternating current generator is provided at one end of the crankshaft with a power transmission system member being provided at the other end thereof. The alternating current generator and the power transmission system member are overhung ahead of and behind the engine relative to the engine cylinder part, respectively. A width by which the power transmission system member is overhung is larger than that by which the alternating current generator is overhung. The alternating current generator of the engine is arranged so as to be directed to the front side of the vehicle body and the power transmission system member is arranged so as to be directed to the rear side of the vehicle body.

Engine arrangement structure of saddle-ride type vehicle

A drive switching lever device for a vehicle for a vehicle in which a single control lever can operate both two-wheel-drive/four-wheel drive switching means and a differential lock on/off switching mechanism includes a bell crank swingably supported by a vehicle body side. A pull rod adapted to operate a switching lever of a two-wheel-drive/four-wheel-drive switching means is connected to a lever bracket and a control cable adapted to operate a switching lever of a differential lock on/off switching mechanism is connected to the bell crank. When a control lever is swung independently of the lever bracket, the bell crank is swung in engagement with the shaft portion of the control lever. The resulting configuration provides flexibility for the layout of the linkage between the control lever and the operating portion of each switching mechanism.

The plurality of electric components includes a battery and an ECU. Couplers of the electric components are arranged in the support member. The main frame supports the support member at a front region located forward with respect to the engine. A refueling operation of an all terrain vehicle can be enhanced, even when a fuel tank is arranged below a seat, without changing an entire length of the vehicle. A fuel tank is arranged below a seat. A seat concave portion with a substantially concave shape when viewed from the top is formed in the seat. A fuel filler of the fuel tank is arranged in the seat concave portion to be seen from the top. It becomes possible to perform refueling from the fuel filler without detaching the seat. Also, an overlap between the seat and the fuel filler when viewed from above is avoided, with a reduction in a seating area of the seat minimized.

A vehicle body frame structure for an all-terrain vehicle having at least a front wheel, and including a first frame assembly and a second frame assembly. The first frame assembly includes an arm support portion and a steering shaft support portion located at a front portion of the vehicle body frame structure, for steering the front wheel. The second frame assembly is bisected from the first frame assembly; and the vehicle body frame structure also includes a suspension arm vertically swingably supported by the arm support portion.

A frame structure and a method of manufacturing a body frame that is divided into small assemblies to facilitate the carriage and storage of articles and individuals and the manufacturing efficiency. A body frame is divided into three, namely, a front assembly having a closed loop structure, an engine support system assembly having a closed loop structure and a rear suspension support system assembly having a closed loop structure. The front assembly and the rear suspension support system assembly are connected to the engine support system assembly to form the body frame. The small assemblies have a closed loop structure whereby the rigidity is enhanced, and the shape is also stabilized. Therefore, the accuracy management can be performed.

Frame structure in saddle type vehicle and method of manufacturing frame

An air cleaner and an exhaust pipe insulator attaching structure for a vehicle engine. The air cleaner on a rear side of the engine includes an air cleaner element disposed in an upper portion inside an air cleaner case. An air cleaner intake-air duct is inserted into the air cleaner case obliquely from above, and then is curved inside the air cleaner case and extended up to directly underneath the air cleaner element. An exhaust duct provided at a front side of the engine is provided with an arc-shaped heat insulator structure. An attachment member includes a curved arc-shaped contact portion and attachment portions formed on an outward side of the arc-shaped contact portion in a radial direction. An inner-peripheral face of the arc-shaped contact portion of the attachment member is brought into contact with an outer-peripheral face of the exhaust duct, and held in place by a band member.

Exhaust pipe insulator attaching structure for saddle-riding vehicle

A storage section structure of a saddle-ridden type vehicle for ensuring adequate storage capacity and allowing the storage workability to be increased while making it possible to improve the external appearance. A storage indent is indented downwardly and is provided on an inclined plane portion of a fender that covers a wheel. A lid is provided that opens and closes an opening of the storage indent. The lid is also swingably provided on the inclined plane portion of the fender. In this way, it is possible to prevent the projection of the structure from the outer surface of the fender while making it possible to widen the storage space above the fender and widen the opening section.

Structure of storage section for saddle-ridden type vehicle

A running board for an all-terrain vehicle includes structure for substantially blocking snow, mud and the like from landing onto the running board during operation, and also for blocking engine heat from excessively warming the feet of a rider. In a running board including a step portion which is positioned on a side of a powertrain unit having an operation pedal in a side portion thereof, a partition is provided between the engine and the step portion, the partition including an insertion opening portion into which the operation pedal is inserted. The partition can be made wider since the operation pedal is inserted into the insertion opening portion blocking snow, mud and the like from coming through a space between the running board and the engine. The partition plate also tends to block engine heat from excessively warming the feet of a rider.

Running board for an all-terrain vehicle, and vehicle incorporating same

To provide a sub fender through which it is difficult for mud or snow to invade. A sub fender for connecting respective lower end portions of a front fender and a rear fender is constituted by a front wall portion attached to the front fender, a rear wall portion attached to the rear fender and a bottom wall portion for connecting lower end portions thereof substantially horizontally. The front wall portion is formed separately from the bottom wall portion and a lower end portion thereof constitutes a downward extended portion extended in a downward direction by a dimension L relative to the bottom wall portion. A slit is provided on the extended portion. Furthermore, an engaging protrusion integrally protruded from a front end of the bottom wall portion in a front direction is provided. The engaging protrusion is engaged with an engaging hole provided at the downward extended portion to thereby position the parts in assembling operation.

Fender structure

A snorkel duct passes a side of a lower portion of a fuel tank to extend to a front side thereof and an inlet at a front end of the snorkel duct is connected to an intake cover disposed in the area of the front side of the fuel tank. The intake pipe cover is a box shape member substantially in an L-like shape, integrally provided with a side chamber deviated to the left side of a vehicle body and a rear chamber extended therefrom to the center of the vehicle body. An intake port of the intake pipe cover is opened rearwardly from a front end side of an extended portion of the rear chamber. The rear chamber faces a space on a lower side of a stepped portion constituted at a front portion of a bottom portion of the fuel tank and sucks outside air from an optimum position having negligible water, dust or the like content.
