An electrical connector () is provided for connecting a flexible printed circuit or a flexible flat cable. The connector comprises a housing (), a number of electrical contacts () received in the housing and an actuator (). The housing has a pair of concave portions () formed on opposite lateral ends thereof and opening upwardly to exterior. Each electrical contact comprises a support arm () defining a pivot portion () at an end thereof. The actuator has a pair of turning shafts () received in the corresponding concave portions and a plurality of turning pintles () therein for engaging with the pivot portions of the electrical contacts.

Electrical connector with improved actuator

An electrical contact ( ) includes a medial portion ( ), two upper arm portions ( ), and a lower solder portion ( ). The medial portion includes two sidewalls ( ), and an engaging portion ( ) below one sidewall. The solder portion depends from the engaging portion. Each arm portion extends from a top of a respective sidewall, and is deflectable from a rest position to a deflected position by a corresponding horizontally actuatable mating pin ( ). Each arm portion includes a top contact portion ( ), and a guiding portion ( ) extending obliquely from an end of the contact portion. An electrical connector ( ) for electrically connecting a central processing unit (CPU) with a printed circuit board (PCB). Electrical connector for electronic package

A tact switch ( ) includes a top cover ( ), an actuator ( ), a metal dome ( ), a rubber disc ( ), a conductive disc ( ) and a housing ( ). The housing has four contacts ( ) retained therein. The rubber disc is attached to an underside of the metal dome, and the conductive disc is attached to the rubber disc. The metal dome fits into a bottom of the housing with the conductive disc spaced a short distance above the contacts. The actuator is slidably mounted above the metal dome. The top cover is mounted on the housing and includes a plate ( ) with a curved lever ( ) extending therefrom. The curved lever confronts a ramp ( ) of the actuator. In operation, when the actuator is pressed into the housing, the lever of the top cover is forced downwardly by the ramp of the actuator to depress the metal dome, which pushes the conductive disc into electrical connection with the contacts.

A magnetic disk driving device comprising a flexible disk-shaped magnetic recording medium; a first motor for rotating the magnetic recording medium; first and second head supporting members for supporting first and second magnetic heads, respectively, the first and second head supporting members being formed with recesses from which the first and second magnetic heads project toward the magnetic recording medium; a second motor for moving the magnetic heads; and first and second arms extending along opposite surfaces of the magnetic recording medium, the first and second arms having respective free ends where the first and second head supporting members are mounted and having respective base ends where a rotating shaft of the second motor is directly fixed; wherein the first and second arms are adapted to be rocked within a predetermined rocking angle defined in such a manner that when the first magnetic head supported by the first head supporting member is located in opposition to an outermost recording track of the magnetic recording medium, the second magnetic head supported by the second head supporting member comes to a position opposed to an innermost recording track of the magnetic recording medium.

Magnetic disk head positioning device

A method of mounting a magnetic head to a case employs a jig having a grooved placing unit for placing the head and a support for the case formed at a predetermined height from the slidably contacting surface of the head. The method includes placing the slidably contacting surface of the head on the bottom of the placing unit of the jig to position the head in the placing unit, placing the case on the support to set its height at a predetermined gap with respect to the mounting surface of the head, and filling a bonding agent in the gap between the mounting surfaces of the case and the head.

Method of mounting a magnetic head

A photosensor block for use with a zero track sensor of a disk drive unit or the like wherein adjustment of the position of a photosensor can be effected simply with accuracy. In the photosensor block, a photosensor forms a side of a deformable parallelepiped and is mounted on a mounting member having a pair of parallel elastic members which form a pair of opposing sides of the parallelepiped. An interconnecting portion of the mounting member between the elastic members is secured either to the photosensor or to a base member which is mounted on a stationary section of the unit and forms the remaining side of the parallelepiped. Opposite ends of the elastic members are removably connected to the other of the photosensor and the base member. An adjusting member is adjustably mounted on the base member for pressing against a side face of one of the elastic members for fine adjustment of the position of the photosensor.

A magnetic head has a head core and a slider integrally formed with the head core, and sidewardly projecting flanges formed on a rear side of the magnetic head to be mounted against the back surface of a mounting plate for the magnetic recording/reproducing device. As a result, the height from the mount surfaces to a slide surface of the magnetic head does not vary when it is assembled on the recording/reproducing device.

Mounting structure for magnetic head

A magnetic head assembly comprises a carriage on which a first magnetic head is mounted for performing read/write with respect to one face of a disk, a second magnetic head also mounted on the carriage opposite to the first magnetic head for performing read/write with respect to the other face of the disk, and a hold case coupled turnably via a leaf hinge spring to the carriage, wherein the first magnetic head is attached via a gimbal spring to the carriage, and the second magnetic head is secured to the hold case, and is characterized in that the carriage has a support portion abutting directly on the hold case inclusive of the leaf hinge spring to support the same, so that the hold case is supported turnably with the support portion serving as a supporting point, whereby the reference plane of the hold case is defined by the support portion, so that accuracy can be ensured for the reference plane of the second magnetic head with respect to the disk and an enhancement of the follow-up performance can contribute to an improvement of the read/write characteristic.

Pivot support structure for magnetic head assembly

In a button shaped magnetic head used for a floppy disc apparatus, a planar spring and a plurality of terminals are inititally formed integrally and insert molded to be contained in a button shaped base, the planar spring and the terminals are then separated from each other, an erasing coil and a read/write coil are mounted on one side of the planar spring, ends of coil wires of the erasing coil and the read/write coil are connected with internal end portions of the terminals relative to the base, while outer end portions of the terminals extending radially outwardly of the base are connected with lead wires.

Button shaped head for floppy disc

A disk driving device which receives a disk cartridge accomodating an information recording disk and drives the information recording disk rotatively for recording information in and for reproducing information from the information recording disk, which comprises a holder for holding the disk cartridge received in the disk driving device, springs for biasing the holder toward a turntable for rotatively driving the information recording disk, a lever for securing the disk cartridge to the holder, a sliding plate which travels along a frame moving the disk cartridge vertically toward or away from the turntable, a spring for always biasing the sliding plate toward the disk cartridge receiving side of the device, a locking lever for restraining the sliding plate from moving toward the cartridge receiving side when the holder is raised from the turntable and located at a predetermined position near the cartridge receiving side and for releasing the sliding plate to allow the holder to move horizontally and vertically toward the turntable after the disk cartridge has been secured to the holder by the lever, and holder control lever for shifting the holder in a direction opposite the direction of movement of the sliding plate. The direction of movement of the sliding plate is inverted by the holder control lever to drive the holder, so that the position of the sliding plate and that of the holder can be regulated accurately for reliable automatic loading and ejecting operation.

Disk driving device

A carriage moving device for moving a carriage having a head unit in a radial direction of a disc. The carriage moving device comprises a screw shaft formed with a spiral intermittent driving screw on an outer circumference thereof, the intermittent driving screw being formed by a plurality of groove portions each having a lead angle of substantially zero and each having a straight bottom, the groove portions being so arranged as to be sequentially shifted in the axial direction of the screw shaft, and a stepping motor having a rotating shaft perpendicular to the screw shaft. A spur gear is mounted to the screw shaft, and a crown gear is mounted to the rotating shaft of the stepping motor in such a manner that the spur gear is meshed with the crown gear.
