A clutch control apparatus for a hybrid vehicle () having an engine () and a motor () as power sources, and an output shaft (). The clutch control apparatus includes a clutch device () and a clutch control device () operatively connected to the clutch device () for controlling the engagement degree of the clutch device () when the driving mode of the vehicle is alternately switched between an engine cruise mode and a motor cruise mode. The clutch control device () is adapted to execute a clutch relaxation control operation which includes an engagement decreasing control operation and a subsequent engagement recovery control operation, and is further adapted to execute an engagement increasing control operation in which the engagement degree of the clutch device () is forced to increase when the revolution rate of the engine () falls below a predetermined value.

Clutch control apparatus for hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle comprises an engine and a motor as power sources, the output power of at least one of the engine and the motor being transmitted to driving wheels for driving the hybrid vehicle, an accelerator pedal for increasing and decreasing driving power of the hybrid vehicle, and a drive control section which is provided for operating and stopping the engine and the motor, and which is adapted to control the engine and the motor in such a manner that when the engine is stopped and the motor is operated solely for driving the hybrid vehicle, change in desired output power is predicted, and the engine is maintained to be stopped, even when the predicted output power falls in a drive zone in which the engine is supposed to be operated, when the movement of the accelerator pedal in a predetermined period is less than a predetermined amount, and that the motor is controlled so as to output the predicted output power for continuing drive of the vehicle solely by the motor.

Hybrid vehicle

A rotational shaft receives drive power from an engine and a first motor, and drives front wheels through front clutches. A second motor drives rear wheels. The first motor and the second motor are supplied with electric power from a battery. A main ECU controls an electric vehicle mode in which the first clutches are disengaged, the supply of fuel to the engine is stopped, and the second motor drives the rear wheels to propel a hybrid vehicle, by dividing the electric vehicle mode into a first propulsion mode and a second propulsion mode. In the first propulsion mode, the first motor is de-energized. In the second propulsion mode, a load imposed on the second motor is greater than that of the first propulsion mode, and the first motor is supplied with electric power to rotate the rotational shaft at a predetermined speed.

A control device for a hybrid vehicle which comprises an engine and a motor-generator that is capable of generating electrical power as power sources, and in which the power of at least one of the engine and the motor-generator is transmitted to an output shaft for driving the hybrid vehicle. The control device comprises a battery which is capable of supplying energy to the motor-generator, a state of charge measuring section for measuring the state of charge of the battery, and a drive control section that preliminarily stores information of a motor drive permissible vehicle speed below which a motor drive mode, in which the engine outputs no power and the motor is operated solely for driving the hybrid vehicle, is employed. The drive control section is adapted to control so to increase the motor drive permissible vehicle speed when the state of charge of the battery measured by the state of charge measuring section is equal to or greater than a predetermined value.

Control device for hybrid vehicle

A hybrid vehicle is provided in which even if the temperature of a catalyst is decreased after a long period of travel by means of a motor, the temperature of the catalyst can be increased immediately and the exhaust of harmful materials can be suppressed. A hybrid vehicle having a normal travel mode as a travel mode in which travel is conducted while switching between motor travel and engine travel in accordance with the degree of the depression of an accelerator, comprising: a switching device being capable of switching between the normal travel mode and a specific travel mode in which travel is conducted only by means of an engine irrespective of the degree of the depression of the accelerator; an activity detector for detecting activity of a catalyst provided in the exhaust system of the engine employed in the engine travel; and a determination device for determining whether or not the catalyst is activated; wherein when the determination device determines that the catalyst is not activated, the switching device compels the switching of the travel mode to the specific travel mode engine.

Catalyst temperature control device for hybrid vehicle

An EGR control system for a direct injection spark ignition engine operated at a plurality of the combustion modes comprising stratified-charge combustion and premix-charge combustion. The system includes a flow rate control valve equipped at the EGR passage to regulate flow rate of the exhaust gas to be recirculated which is operated when the one combustion mode is determined to be changed to another of a plurality of the combustion modes, thereby ensuring an EGR amount that is neither deficient nor excessive for the combustion mode, while preventing misfire from happening and preventing the degradation of drivability, fuel economy and emission performance from occurring. Alternatively, the system includes an actuator for regulating an opening of a throttle valve or a second EGR control valve installed in a branch passage and a passage switching valve for switching the EGR passage and the branch passage.

EGR control system for internal combustion engine

An engine control apparatus is provided that is capable of improving drivability and reducing the volume of exhaust gas expelled. In the engine control apparatus of the present invention, it is determined whether or not a vehicle is stopped. When the vehicle has stopped, it is determined whether or not it is possible to acquire road traffic information, for example, including traffic congestion information and the like, and traveling conditions information, for example, including the current position of the vehicle and information on a route to a destination. When it is possible to acquire this information, a determination is made as to whether or not the current position of the vehicle is within a traffic congested area based on the road traffic information and the traveling conditions information. If the vehicle is within a traffic congested area, stopping of the operation of the engine is prohibited.

Engine control apparatus

A method of controlling supercharging pressure in an internal combustion engine having a supercharger with an increase rate-varying device for varying the rate of increase of the supercharging pressure. The supercharging pressure is controlled to a desired value in response to the difference between the actual value of the supercharging pressure and the desired value. The increase rate-varying device is held in a position for obtaining the maximum rate of increase of the supercharging pressure while the actual value of the supercharging pressure is below a predetermined value which is lower than the desired value. The predetermined value is set to a lower value as the rate of increase of the supercharging pressure increases, or when a transmission of the engine is in a lower of two or more speed positions of the transmission. Also, the predetermined value of the supercharging pressure is set to a lower value as the actual intake air temperature decreases.

Supercharging pressure control method for internal combustion engines

A method of controlling supercharging pressure in an internal combustion engine, wherein the supercharging pressure is controlled by controlling a control amount for operating a supercharging pressure control device. The control amount is controlled in feedback control mode responsive to the difference between the actual value of the supercharging pressure and a desired value thereof when the supercharging pressure is in a steady state, and at the same time a learned value of the correction value is obtained by calculating values of same applied during the feedback control. The control amount is controlled in open loop control mode based upon the learned value when the supercharging pressure is in a transient state. The calculation of the learned value is inhibited when a predetermined condition is satisfied during the steady state. The predetermined condition is satisfied when the desired value of the supercharging pressure is set to a different value than a normal value set during the steady state.
