A hierarchical processing system includes processors connected in a hierarchical formation having first, second and third hierarchical levels, for down loading information to the processors in parallel. The system comprises a memory unit provided at the first hierarchical level, for storing information to be down loaded to the processors located at the second and third hierarchical levels and for receiving configuration data about the processors located at the second and third hierarchical levels therefrom, a receiving unit provided at the second hierarchical level, for receiving the information to be down loaded to the processors located at the second and third hierarchical levels from the memory unit and for sending the configuration data about processors located at the second and third hierarchical levels to the memory unit. Another receiving unit is provided at the third hierarchical level, for receiving the information to be down loaded to the processors located at the third hierarchical level from the memory unit via the first receiving unit and for sending the configuration data about the processors located at the third hierarchical level to the first receiving unit. Thus, the memory unit can store the information to be down loaded to the processors and send the information to the processors on the basis of the configuration data.

Hierarchical processing system and method for down loading information

A facsimile communication system includes a transmitter for transmitting data in a state where a minimum value of a total amount of data to be transmitted for each scanning line is secured, the data for each block including image data, and a receiver for receiving the data transmitted from the transmitter. The receiver has a memory for storing the image data out of the data received for each scanning line by the receiver, a printer unit for performing a printing process using the image data read out from the memory, a checking unit for determining, based on an amount of image data which has not been used for printing yet and remains in the memory, whether or not the minimum value of the total amount of data to be transmitted for each scanning line can be changed, and a signal output unit, when the checking unit determines that the minimum value of the total amount of data to be transmitted for each scanning line can be changed, for outputting a request signal, the request signal being transmitted to the transmitter. The transmitter has a detecting unit for detecting the request signal from the receiver, and changing means, when the detecting unit detects the request signal, for changing the minimum value of the total amount of data to be transmitted for each scanning line, so that the data is transmitted in a state where a changed minimum value of the total amount of data to be transmitted for each scanning line is secured.

A communication terminal connected to a line of an exchange of a public network, includes a main body of the communication terminal, and a line branching detection controller coupled to the main body. The line branching detection controller includes a communication state detector enabling the communication terminal to call and receive a call when a communication operation of the communication terminal is detected, a line signal monitoring part activated when the communication state detector detects no communication operation and monitoring signals on the line connected to the exchange when activated, and an interference signal generator driven when the line signal monitoring part detects a signal indicating a communication made on the line and generating an interference signal on the line when driven.
