A resin composition is provided which is improved in fluidability, stiffness and impact resistance and therefore can achieve the reduction in wall thickness of a resin product for automotive interior/exterior applications comprising a polypropylene resin; and a resin product produced from the resin composition. The resin composition comprises 30 to 65 mass % of an ethylene-propylene block copolymer having a melt flow rate of 60 to 120 g/10 minutes and a Charpy impact strength of 3 kJ/mor more; 0 to 25 mass % of a homopolypropylene resin having a melt flow rate of 10 g/10 minutes or more and a modulus of elasticity of 2000 MPa or more; 5 to 20 mass % of an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer rubber having a Mooney viscosity of 20 to 75 or a styrene-ethylene butylenes-styrene copolymer having a styrene component content of 15 to 30 mass %; and 23 to 37 mass % of talc having an average particle diameter of 8 &#x3bc;m or less.

Resin composition and resin product

A resin molding includes an elongate body and a bent end that is continuous with the elongate body and is formed by a pressing operation. A back side of an intersecting portion of the elongate body and the bent end has reinforcing ribs formed by resin melted during the pressing operation. The resin molding is formed by extruding a melted resin, cutting the extruded resin into a predetermined length to form an intermediate product, heating and pressing an end of the intermediate product to bend the end, and introducing a melted resin onto the intermediate product during the pressing to form at least one reinforcing rib thereon to support the bent end.

Molding and method of manufacturing the same

A side moulding which is readily manufactured and mounted on an exterior side surface of a body or door of a motor vehicle, and is free from the generation of noise during the running of the motor vehicle or upon the opening and closing of the door of the motor vehicle. The side moulding includes a main body, clips for mounting the main body to the body or door of the motor vehicle, and cushion members provided in a rear surface of the main body. Each of the cushion members includes a cushion part for achieving a cushioning operation against the main body, and the body or door of the motor vehicle, and a fitting part for fitting to each of rib parts provided in the rear surface of the main body.

Side moulding for motor vehicle

Extrusion molding is performed while the extrusion molding is regulated from the skin layer side so that the foaming capacity of a portion opposite to a surface of a reinforcement portion of an insert having at least one gap portion is smaller than the foaming capacity of a portion where the gap portion is filled with the foam layer when a foamable resin is foamed.

Extrusion molding provided with insert and method of producing the same

A stable window molding assembly for sealing a gap between a window glass and a frame includes a U-shaped fastener, which has a first hook extending inward from one wall and a second hook extending inward from an opposite wall. The window molding includes a window lip, which contacts an upper surface of the window glass, and a frame lip, which contacts the frame. An arm of the window molding includes projections that engage the hooks of the fastener. Grooves are respectively formed in the arm for facilitating elastic deformation of the projections.

Window molding assembly

A thermoplastic olefin elastomer molded article has a sealant contact portion coming into contact with a urethane sealant and is substantially made of thermoplastic olefin elastomer. At least the sealant contact surface of the sealant contact portion is made of a polyvinyl chloride layer or a thermoplastic polyurethane layer. At least the portion of the molded article adjoining the polyvinyl chloride layer or the thermoplastic polyurethane layer is made of a chlorinated thermoplastic olefin elastomer which is obtained by replacing part or the whole of the non-rigid phase of a thermoplastic olefin elastomer with chlorinated polyethylene and is capable of thermal fusion bonding to the polyvinyl chloride layer or the thermoplastic polyurethane layer.

Thermoplastic olefin elastomer molded article

An injection molded colored article produced from colored material prepared by blending a coloring pigment with a synthetic resin. The article has the shape of a long main body section and a thin plate section integrally molded along a side edge of the main body section. A back surface of the main body has a curve formed from an inner end thereof. The thin plate section is formed into a tapered shape, having its thickness decreased toward its outer edge. An inclined angle .theta. defined between a upper surface and a back surface of said thin plate section, a ratio of distance A between an inner edge of said upper surface and an outer edge of said thin plate section to a distance B between said inner end of said back surface of said thin plate section and said outer edge, A/B, and a thickness C of said main body section are selected to fall within the following ranges;

Molded colored articles

With an auxiliary electrode having a shape corresponding to the end of a workpiece attached to an upper electrode of a high frequency heater for high-frequency heating the end of the workpiece extruded, the workpiece is high-frequency heated intensively and uniformly between the auxiliary electrode and the lower electrode. After heating, the end of the workpiece is molded into a predetermined shape by a couple of stamping molds.

Method of fabricating a molding

A window molding for automobiles, which is installed around the periphery of a windshield, including a leg and a head. The head is formed to permit the creation of two different water guide portions extending along the molding, one that will function along the roof line and another along the side edge of the windshield. The side water guide portion prevents water from going from the windshield to the side windows. The roof line water guide portion opens toward the window frame and prevents water from flowing from the roof onto the windshield.

Window molding for automobiles

An automobile window molding includes an elongated leg having an embedded core member, an outer head portion having a contact portion, an inner support portion, a seal lip and a position control portion. The molding is suited to position a window in a supporting window frame. The head portion is integrally formed at an upper end of the leg and extends over a portion of the front widow glass. The contact portion is defined by a projection positioned between the head portion and the inner support portion so as to touch the end surface of the front window glass. The inner support portion is formed at a lower end of the leg and is configured to touch an inner surface of the front window glass. The perimeter of the front window glass is held between the head portion and the inner support portion. At least one seal lip is formed on the leg so as to contact a window frame. The position control portion is preferably bent towards the window glass, such that the projection is disposed to be closer to the inner support portion than to the core member.

An automobile decoration molding includes a decoration molding body formed by extrusion-molding a synthetic resin material; and an end part formed by remolding the end portion of the decoration molding body with a die. At least the end portion of the decoration molding body which is to be formed into the end part is formed by using the synthetic resin material kneaded with electrically conductive metallic powder, and the end portion of the decoration molding body which is to be formed into the end part is obliquely cut in such a manner that the resultant cut becomes larger in the direction opposite to a decorative surface of the decoration molding body, and the end portion thus processed is remolded with a die consisting of an upper half die and a lower half die.

Automobile decoration molding

In a two layer extrusion molding, a core part 11 is formed of hard resin material, a crease pattern 11a having a given depth, preferably, a depth in the range of 10 to 20 .mu.m is formed on the surface of the core part 11, and a skin part 12 formed of soft resin material is coated on the surface of the core part 11. Thus, the core part and skin part are effectively prevented from being detached from each other to thereby improving the quality of the molded product.

Molded sandwich article

A window molding for automobiles has an elongate leg fitted into a gap between a perimeter of a front window glass and a window frame. The molding holds the perimeter of the front window glass between an inner support and an outer support. A head is disposed at one end of the leg, the head having a lateral portion thereof extending over the outer support. A guide connects the lateral portion of the head and the outer support, the guide defining a distance between the lateral portion of the head and the outer support and being deformed according to a respective position along the perimeter of the front window glass. A guide groove is defined at least in part by the guide and opened toward the front window glass at least at side edges of the front window glass. A veil lip is disposed on the lateral portion of the head and forms an obtuse angle therewith at least at the side edges of the front window glass so that the veil lip extends toward the front window glass and defines another part of the guide groove. The guide is deformed at the upper edge of the front window glass to shorten the distance between the lateral portion of the head and the outer support so that the veil lip has a portion thereof bearing on the front window glass along the upper edge of the front window glass.

A door lower molding that has a main body molded of a synthetic resin by extrusion. The main body is fixed along a lower end of a door of a vehicle. The main body has a seal lip extended thereon, which closely contacts a rocker molding of the vehicle body when the door is closed. A core made of a synthetic resin is embedded in the main body. The seal lip may be covered on its outer side with a skin which has a flaw resistance characteristic and on its inner side with a sealing layer including silicone to prevent freeze-sticking to the vehicle body.
