A radar level gauge using electromagnetic signals is provided, which includes a connection arrangement for connecting a transmitter receiver circuit board and an antenna unit with one another, with which the horizontal size of the radar level gauge may be reduced and reflection and transmission losses may be suppressed as well. The transmitter receiver circuit boardis so disposed in a housingas to extend vertically. The connection arrangement includes a waveguide sequence which is fed at a feed terminalformed on the transmitter receiver circuit boardand composed of three waveguides Wto W. Specifically, the waveguide sequence includes, in sequential order from the transmitter receiver circuit board to the antenna unit: a circular waveguide Wextending horizontally and perpendicular to the transmitter receiver circuit board; a rectangular waveguide Win connection with the circular waveguide Wand extending vertically; and a second circular waveguide Wfurther in connection with the rectangular wave guide Wand extending vertically.

The burst signal generation sectiongenerates two kinds of burst signals with a phase difference and sends these burst signals to a pair of transmission/reception ultrasonic transducersandlocated on the upstream side and downstream side of the conduit to be measuredUpon reception of the corresponding burst signals, the pair of the transmission/reception ultrasonic transducersandconvert the burst signals, send ultrasonic waves with a phase difference to the conduit to be measuredreceive the ultrasonic wave sent by the other transmission/reception ultrasonic transducer and propagated through the conduit to be measured and convert the ultrasonic waves to received signals. These received signals are binarized through the binarization circuitsand, exclusive-ORed by the exclusive-OR circuitand converted to a phase difference signal indicating a phase difference and the flow velocity of the conduit to be measuredis measured based on this phase difference signal.
