A capillary array includes a light detection portion, a sample supply portion, a buffer solution supply portion and a voltage application portion which are necessary functions for electrophoresis, thereby, when assembling the capillary array into an electrophoresis apparatus, the same can be immediately used. Accordingly, a capillary array is provided which can be easily incorporated into an electrophoresis apparatus.

Capillary array

A water quality meter is composed of a plurality of water quality monitoring meters including analyzing units for analyzing water samples introduced from a water distribution pipe, each analyzing unit analyzing the water samples and a measuring cell, and a liquid introducing unit integrated with the analyzing units, which is composed of a single member in which a plurality of fluid flow paths for feeding various types of liquid including the water sample into the analyzing unit are formed. Furthermore, the cells and the plurality of three-dimensional fluid flow paths formed in the single member are fabricated by a micro-fabrication technique using photo-curing resin.

Water quality meter and water quality monitoring system

A water quality meter is composed of a plurality of analyzing units for analyzing water samples introduced from a water distribution pipe, each analyzing unit including a reagent mixing cell and a measuring cell, and a liquid introducing unit integrated with the analyzing units, which is composed of a single member in which a plurality of fluid flows paths for feeding various types of liquid including the water sample into the analyzing unit are formed. Furthermore, the cells and the plurality of three-dimensional fluid flow paths formed in the single member are fabricated by a micro-fabrication technique using photo-curing resin. In one embodiment, a photometer is situated in the flow path in at least one analyzing unit for measuring absorbency of the liquid. In another embodiment, a pair of electrodes, for measuring electric conductivity or pH, is disposed in a measurement flow path in at least one of the analyzing units.

Water quality meter and water monitoring system

A water quality management system for managing the water quality in a water supply network having water pipe lines running from the purification plant to consumers' faucets to maintain the water quality at the consumers at the terminals of the network at an appropriate level. The water quality monitors for measuring the quality of water in the pipe lines are installed in the small-pipe water distribution network branching from the water distribution main pipe network and running toward the consumers. The water distribution facility for improving the water quality is installed at the base point of the small-pipe water distribution network. The water quality in the small-pipe water distribution network is managed based on the signals from the water quality monitors.

Water quality management system

A physical quantity measuring apparatus in which the measurement range of the physical quantity such as displacement, pressure or the like can be widened. Laser beams different in wavelength are radiated through an optical fiber onto a diaphragm and the light reflected on the diaphragm and the light reflected on a reference face opposite to the diaphragm are returned to the optical fiber so that the distance between the reference face and the diaphragm which is transformed, and hence a pressure difference, is measured by a light interference method. The quantity of displacement of the diaphragm is measured optically by using laser beams different in wavelength from each other so that it is possible to make the measurement accuracy high and to effect measurement in a wide range with respect to a physical quantity such as displacement, pressure, or the like, without being influenced by a change in characteristic of the optical fiber.

Physical quantity measurement apparatus and instrument therefor

A compact pressure differential/pressure detector is a process detection apparatus for measuring a pressure, a level, a pressure differential of a process fluid. The detector is constructed of a pressure sensing block having sensors for sensing a pressure and a pressure differential, a signal processing block for processing signals from the pressure sensing block, and a terminal board block for receiving power supply from outside and transmitting signals to outside. These blocks are arranged along the same axis. Furthermore, an indicator indicating a process state is also arranged along the same axis and received in a covering case. The case is firmly attached to the pressure sensing block. The process detection apparatus permits a compact design and offers an excellent maintainability.

Process detection apparatus

An autonomous distributed field bus system includes a host apparatus disposed in a control room, a plurality of detection and control blocks disposed in a field, and a bus line for connecting the host apparatus to the plurality of blocks. Each of the plurality of control blocks includes a detection device, an arithmetic and control device and an operating device, and forms a control loop. The arithmetic and control device produces a control signals by using control parameters stored therein on the basis of the measured value detected by the detection device. The operating device is operated by the control signal. Control operation is thus performed in each of the blocks without participation of the host apparatus.

Field bus system having automonous control operation

An electromagnetic flow meter for industries includes a transducer and a signal processor provided separately from the transducer. The transducer having an exciting circuit, an amplifying and calculating part and a transmitting part outputs an analog flow rate signal and digital signals which are superimposed to the an analog flow rate signal to the signal processor. The analog signal sent to the signal processor is passed through the signal processor without receiving any signal processing and the digital signals are sent into the transducer or taken into the signal processor through alternating current coupling means. The data transmission is diagnosed by checking the conformity between the data stored in the signal sending part and the received data. Data set in a data setting part provided in the signal processor are sent to the transducer through a transmitting cable in which the flow rate data are also transmitted.

Electromagnetic flow meter

An electromagnetic flow meter comprises a ceramic measuring pipe formed into a straight cylinder through which fluid to be measured flows, electromagnetic field generating device disposed adjacent to a central portion of an outer surface of the central portion of the ceramic measuring pipe for generating an electromagnetic field into a radial direction of the ceramic measuring pipe, electrodes for detecting an electric potential generated in the fluid, a case which accommodates the ceramic measuring pipe, the electromagnetic field generating device and the electrodes, and sealing members which are disposed between inner surfaces of the flanges of the case and ends of outer circumference of the ceramic measuring pipe. The case has a length longer than that of the ceramic measuring pipe and flanges at both ends thereof. Inner diameters of the flanges are slightly larger than an outer diameter of the ceramic measuring pipe. Portions of the sealing members outwardly project over the end surfaces of the flanges of the case.

An apparatus in which a magnetic field is generated by an excitation coil provided in the outside of a conduit and electromotive force generated in electrodes attached on the conduit is detected to thereby measure a flow rate of a fluid flowing in the conduit, in which the conduit is made thinner in a manner so that a ratio of the axial length of the conduit to the inside diameter of the conduit is set to a value within a range of from 0.2 to 1.0, and in which correction data previously analyzed in accordance with magnetic permeability and inside surface conductivity of a mate piping to which the conduit is to be connected are stored so that a detection signal from the electrodes is corrected on the basis of the correction data to thereby measure the flow rate of the fluid flowing in the conduit.

In a communication system in which a plurality of communication units are connected to a common two-wire transmission line and signal transmission/reception is made between the communication unit and a field sensor connected to one end of the transmission line, the communication unit transmits a signal to the field sensor under the condition that no signal is present on the transmission line during a period of time not shorter than a predetermined time while the field sensor transmits a signal indicative of in-use of the transmission line at an interval of time shorter than the predetermined time during a period of time until the field sensor sends back a signal in response to the signal from the communication unit, whereby signal collision between the plurality of communication units is prevented with no provision of any specific means.

Field sensor communication method and system

A ceramic conduit with a metal outer tube is joined to bonding rings through insert members between end surfaces of the rings and annular bonding surfaces, with the annular bonding surface being not parallel to the axis of the conduit and the insert member being bonded to the ring and conduit. The rings are joined to the outer tube through welds between forward ends of annular protrusions provided in end surfaces which are the reverse surfaces of the surface bonded with the insert members and the forward ends of annular protrusions provided in axial end surfaces of the outer tube. The inner periphery of the outer tube is fitted on the outer periphery of the conduit with a small gap therebetween. The rings are bonded to the conduit with the insert members by being pressed against the conduit in the axial direction of the conduit and only a small quantity of heat is transmitted from the welds to other portions. The outer tube is joined to the rings through portions having a low rigidity to achieve a highly reliable metal and ceramic bonding is achieved and the bonded surfaces are not deteriorated by the welding nor is the outer tube deformed by the welding heat, and an external load is not substantially transmitted to the bonded surfaces.
