An image forming apparatus has first to fourth photoconductor drums, a driving source (i.e, motor), a transmitting member for transmitting power of the driving source to the photoconductor drums to rotate the photoconductor drums (i.e, gears and belts), a first restricting member being rotatably held and being coupled to the first and second photoconductor drums to restrict rotations of the first and second photoconductor drums (i.e, gear), the first restricting member being a member different from the transmitting member and a second restricting member being rotatably held and being coupled to the third and fourth photoconductor drums to restrict rotations of the third and fourth photoconductor drums (i.e, gear), and the second restricting member being a member different from the transmitting member.

In order to provide a driving mechanism for a photosensitive drum which is capable of reducing deformation of the shaft of the photosensitive drum caused by loads when transmitting a driving force, a drive transmission course 51 is diverged to at least two courses in a drive transmission system 42 for transmitting the drive force from a drive motor 41 to the photosensitive drum 25. Specifically, the last stage of the drive transmission course 51 is engaged with a passive member 47 provided to the drum shaft 25a at two or more points to connect and link the drive force, thereby diverging the directions of loads to several directions, by which irregular movements of the photosensitive drum or vibration caused by the deformation of the shaft is eliminated.

This invention concerns an image forming apparatus provided with a fixing device for fixing an image formed on a sheet. This apparatus comprises shutters for shielding opening parts formed in the fixing device for the passage of the sheet, a driver for switching the shutters between the opened state and the closed state, a sensor for detecting the presence or absence of the opened state of the shutters, and a CPU for setting the driver moving and controlling the opening or closing motion of the shutters. The CPU compares the signal to open or close the shutters and the signal from the sensor and prohibits the fixing device from producing a fixing motion when the sensor detects the closed state of the shutters in spite of the issuance of a signal to open the shutters. Owing to this construction, the otherwise possible blockage of the sheet by the shutters provided for the fixing device can be precluded because the fixing operation of the fixing device is prohibited when the shutters are closed in spite of the issuance of the signal to open the shutters.

The facsimile machine according to the invention can set a so-called night time collective time designation mode for power saving during night time processing time. Turning on a prescribed operation key of the facsimile machine permits printing. More specifically, even when the machine is in the power saving state, a printing operation is permitted in response to a key input.

The present invention relates to a container packed with instant food to be cooked by a microwave oven which allows a solid instant food such as instant chow mein and instant macaroni to be reconstituted to its original cooked state with good texture in a short period of time when the food is cooked in a microwave oven without the need to drain water after it is cooked. The container packed with instant food comprises: a container composed of a container body and a lid which is capable of tightly or substantially tightly sealing said container; and a solid instant food accommodated in said container, wherein said food is to be reconstituted and made ready for eating on absorbing water when said container packed with said food is heated in a microwave oven after water is added thereto in an amount equivalent to between 100 and 155 wt % of the water absorption capacity of said food.
