A paper sheet handling apparatus capable of effectively preventing a photodetector from malfunctioning due to external light is provided. The present invention is a paper sheet handling apparatus including a paper sheet handling port, a projector for emitting light within the paper sheet handling port, a photodetector for receiving the light emitted from the projector, and a light-shielding body that is formed along an optical path from the projector towards the photodetector and shields the photodetector against external light; wherein a projector-side end of the light-shielding body is formed to be retracted from an incident direction of the external light towards the photodetector.

A cash automatic transaction device capable of, upon storage of a banknote sent from a depositing/dispensing port in a banknote storage box, or upon accumulation of a banknote sent from the banknote storage box in the depositing/dispensing port, preventing the occurrence of trouble such as paper jam or poor posture. The cash automatic transaction device has a depositing/dispensing port used for depositing/dispensing of banknotes, and a banknote storage box for storage of deposited/dispensed banknotes. The depositing/dispensing port has depositing/dispensing space to store the deposited/dispensed banknotes, and accumulation space in which the banknote is accumulated upon dispensing. The width of the depositing/dispensing space is smaller than the exit and entrance width of the storage box, while the width of the accumulation space is greater than the exit and entrance width of the storage box.

A paper sheet handling machine is provided, including: a paper sheet slot configured to receive and provide a paper sheet, a pair of push plates configured to hold the paper sheet inserted into and discharged from the paper sheet handling machine via the paper sheet slot and apply a pressing force to the paper sheet in a thickness direction thereof, pair of conveyor assemblies including a first conveyor assembly and a second conveyor assembly configured to hold and convey the paper sheet inserted and discharged via the paper sheet slot; and a moving mechanism configured to move the first conveyor assembly and the second conveyor assembly in mutually approaching directions or in mutually away directions, and to locate the first conveyor assembly and the second conveyor assembly at any position in between and external to the pair of push plates, as seen from the paper sheet slot.

A paper money handling apparatus comprises a service mechanism unit for delivery of a paper sheet or sheets, a counting processing unit for counting of a paper sheet or sheets, a stacker for storing of a paper sheet or sheets, and conveyance paths for conveyance of a paper sheet or sheets to the service mechanism unit, the counting processing unit, and the stacker. The apparatus further comprises connection guides provided between the conveyance paths and the stackers to perform delivery of a paper sheet or sheets, a motor, a cam and a solenoid, which switch the connection guides to a connected state to connect the same to the conveyance paths and the stackers to enable delivery of a paper sheet or sheets and to an evacuated state to release the connection.

Feed rollers, stopper rollers situated on both outer sides with respect to the feed rollers, each of the stopper rollers having part of the periphery being a highly frictional portion compared with other peripheral portions, and a flexible, radial member in a position on an inner side with respect to the stopper rollers are disposed on a feed roller shaft; and the highly frictional portions of the stopper rollers are in positions at which phases of the highly frictional portions are the same as phases of highly frictional portions of the feed rollers in a rotational direction respectively. On a pick roller shaft, pick rollers, which have highly frictional portions for passing a paper sheet to a paper sheet running-out section, and have flexible, radial members in positions at a side opposite to the highly frictional portions, are disposed in the same or inside positions in an axial direction with respect to both the outside stopper rollers disposed on the feed roller shaft.

The invention provides a bill receiving and paying apparatus which has a function capable of replenishing and retracting the bill in correspondence to a lot of money kinds, secures the bill capacity without enlarging the apparatus, and has an improved maintenance characteristic and an improved operability. A recycle cassette per a money kind and a reject cassette are arranged in parallel in a depth direction as seen from a front face of a bill receiving and paying apparatus, a replenishment/retract cassette is arranged in a vertically laminated direction with respect to the recycle cassette and the reject cassette, the reject cassette is arranged in a front face side or a rear face side of the recycle cassette in correspondence to an operation and maintenance aspect of the apparatus. Further, a bill carrying path arranged in a front side of the replenishment/retract cassette is structured such as to be freely opened and closed, thereby being detachable from the front face side of the replenishment/retract cassette. Further, the bill receiving portion structured by the replenishment/retract cassette and the reject cassette, and the carrying path which may be freely opened and closed, are connected by one two-way carrying path.

A banknote receipt and pay-out apparatus of a recirculation type for using received banknotes as those to be paid out, which can maintain the alignment of banknotes in a receipt and pay-out box in order when the latter is installed on the banknote receipt and pay-out apparatus which can deal with banknotes having different sizes, or when the receipt and pay-out box in which the banknotes are set is transported. That is, the banknote receipt and pay-out apparatus incorporating a receipt and pay-out box for replenishing the apparatus with banknotes, recovering banknotes therefrom, and storing banknotes in a standing posture, the receipt and pay-out box comprising an alignment mechanism for holding the banknotes aligned in order around the widthwise center thereof when the banknote receipt and pay-out box is not installed on the banknote pay-out apparatus.
