A process for the production of human serum albumin A (HSA) characterized by culturing host cells transformed with the plasmids containing a leader DNA sequence and a cDNA coding for mature HSA to produce and secrete mature HSA, and recovering the mature HSA. As the leader HSA sequence, a cDNA coding for the prepro sequence of HSA, a synthetic DNA coding for the prepro sequence of HSA, by the codons frequently used in a selected host, a DNA coding for a chimeric leader peptide, a DNA coding for MF.alpha.1 prepro sequence, or a DNA coding for PH05 signal peptide, is used.

A method and apparatus for determining an optical disc type. A light beam is directed at an optical disc, and a focal point of the light beam moves in a focus direction with respect to the optical disc. An intensity of a reflection of the light beam from the optical disc is detected during the movement of the focal point of the light beam. A time interval between occurrences of a plurality of peaks of the detected intensity of the reflected light beam is detected, and the optical disc type is determined according to the detected time interval.

There is provided a tracking servo apparatus of a disk player comprising: off-track detecting means for detecting that an information reading spot of a pickup does not exist on an information recording track of a disk and for generating an off-track signal; and level control means for increasing an amplitude of a tracking error signal when the off-track signal exists, whereby the stable tracking servo operation can be executed.

A servo loop particulary useful for a focusing or tracking servo in an optical disk. The peak-to-peak value of an error signal in the servo loop is detected while the optical pickup is being driven perpendicularly to the disk in focusing or transversely to the disk in tracking. The detected peak-to-peak value is used to adjust the gain of a variable gain amplifier included in the servo loop.

Method and apparatus for correcting the loop gain of a servo loop in

A tracking servo system for use in an information recording disc player including an equalizing circuit for compensating a frequency characteristic of a tracking error signal generated at a pickup of the disc player. The equalizing characteristic of the equalizing circuit is changed for a predetermined time period after the servo loop is closed during a track jump operation of the disc player. By this feature the servo loop is locked in when a decelerating force is exerted on the actuator of the tracking servo system, thereby to increase the stability of the lock in of the tracking servo system.
