An engine ECU executes a program including the step of detecting an engine coolant temperature (THW), the step of selecting a map for a warm state as the map for calculating a fuel injection ratio (or a DI ratio) (r) when the engine coolant temperature (THW) is equal to or higher than a temperature threshold value (THW(TH)), the step of selecting a map for a cold state as the map for calculating the fuel injection ratio (or the DI ratio) (r) when the engine coolant temperature (THW) is lower than the temperature threshold value (THW(TH)), and the step of calculating the fuel injection ratio between the in-cylinder injector and the-intake manifold injector (or the DI ratio) (r) based on the engine speed, load factor, and the selected map.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine

A high pressure pump for decreasing an initial axial force of a clamping bolt and preventing distortion of a sealing surface and a cylinder form. The high pressure pump has an intermediate member including a cylinder body. The cylinder body has a pressurizing chamber communicated with a cylinder accommodating a plunger. Fluid in the pressurizing chamber is pressurized by reciprocating the plunger. The intermediate member is arranged between a cover and a flange and clamped by a clamping bolt. The clamping bolt has an exposed area at its axially central area where the entire periphery of the clamping bolt is exposed from the cover and the flange. One or both of the cover and the flange clamp the intermediate member with a flexing elastic force.

High-pressure fuel pump and assembly structure of high-pressure pump

A cam for driving a high-pressure fuel pump has a cam profile that is asymmetric for the suction stroke and the ejection stroke. The cam profile is set so that the cam angle for the ejection stroke is greater than the cam angle for the suction stroke. Therefore, even when the cam drive shaft is rotating at a constant speed, the duration of the ejection stroke becomes longer than the duration of the suction stroke. That is, the changing speed of the capacity of a pressurizing chamber becomes less during the ejection stroke than during the suction stroke.

High-pressure fuel pump and cam for high-pressure fuel pump

The amount of fuel ejected from a high-pressure fuel pump that ejects fuel toward a delivery pipe is adjusted by controlling the valve closure start timing of an electromagnetic spill valve. In this manner, the fuel pressure in the delivery pipe is controlled. The duty ratio DT used for controlling the valve closure start timing of the electromagnetic spill valve is calculated based on a valve closure start timing that provides a maximum amount of fuel ejection. The actual fuel ejection characteristic of a high-pressure fuel pump may deviate from a designed state due to individual differences of the pump. However, the valve closure start timing of the electromagnetic spill valve that provides the maximum amount of fuel ejection in accordance with the actual fuel ejection characteristic is learned as a maximum ejection timing. Based on the maximum ejection timing, the duty ratio DT is calculated.

Fuel pressure control apparatus and method of internal combustion engine

The energization control system for a motor equalizes the power loss of switching elements energizing coils of each phase of the motor in order to maintain a balance of heat development. The energization control system for a motor includes a plurality of phase coils and two switching elements. The energization control system of a motor supplies an electric current from the power source line to the coil when two switching elements are simultaneously conducted. Two switching elements are controlled under a first condition that one of the switching elements is switched every predetermined time while the other of the switching elements is conducted. Two switching elements are also controlled under a second condition that the other of the switching elements is switched every predetermined time while one of the switching elements is conducted. The first condition and the second conditions are repeated and synchronized to the predetermined time every predetermined period.

Energization control system of a motor

A direct injection type internal combustion engine control apparatus is capable of increasing the frequency of performing the compression-stroke fuel injection following an automatic start of the engine by maintaining a sufficient fuel pressure for the compression-stroke injection even after the engine has been stopped by an automatic stop function. When an immediately-before-automatic-stop flag is &ldquo;ON&rdquo;, the control apparatus sets the control duty of an electromagnetic spill valve to 100 (%) to raise the fuel pressure immediately before the automatic stop. As a result, after the engine stops, the fuel pressure starts to decrease from a high pressure, so that there will be a long time before the fuel pressure decreases to a level that makes it impossible to perform appropriate fuel injection into the combustion chamber during the compression stroke. Therefore, the possibility of performance of the compression-stroke injection immediately following an automatic start is increased, and the frequency of performing the compression-stroke injection is increased. Thus, sufficient improvements in fuel economy and the like can be achieved.

Direct injection type internal combustion engine control apparatus and control method of the same

An energization control device is provided to prevent rapid decrease of current which is flowing through each of phase coils of an electric motor. A time duration is divided into three stages which ranges from an initiation of the current supply to the phase coil to a termination of the current supply to the phase coil. At the first stage, the second stage, and the third stage, soft/hard chopping energization control, 0-volt energization, and duty chopping energization control, respectively, are made. Energizing the phase coil is made by way of a first switching element and a second switching element. At the first stage, depending on an actual current value being in excess of a target current value, either of or both of the first switching element and the second element are made OFF. At the second stage, while the second switching element is being made OFF, the second switching element is made ON. At third stage, while the second switching element is being made OFF, the first switching element is, at a duty cycle, made ON and OFF alternately in repetition.

In a chopping energization control device, a pair of switching elements IGBT/U and IGBT/L are used to control an electric power supplied from a DC power source to a phase coil CL of a DC motor, particularly an SR motor, such that one of the switching elements is alternately turned on-and-off while the other is being turned on continually. To avoid uneven heat generations between the switching elements, an arrangement is provided wherein whenever a time elapses beyond a limit value of, for example, 10 milliseconds the conditions of the respective switching elements are swapped with each other. Such a swapping is established cyclically which causes equal heat generations in the switching elements.

A motor driving control device that achieves as high as possible phase coil energization level while preventing thermal destruction of the power switching element by using precise thermal detection of a portion of the power switching element inside a switching module of the control device. An electric power loss Lt at the switching element is used for calculating a saturation temperature Tjgoal. On the basis of the saturation temperature, Tjgoal, and a time constant &tgr; of temperature rise, an instant junction temperature Tjnow is calculated. A difference Error between the instant junction temperature Tjnow and an upper temperature limit value Tjmax is calculated. In a motor locked condition, a coefficient Kt is calculated for the target torque, the target torque being equal to the required torque multiplied by Kt. Kt is based on the Error for calculating the target torque. If Error is greater than or equal to a predetermined value, K3, Kt is set to be 1, even if Kt is in excess of 1. If Error is less than or equal to 0 , Kt is set to be zero.

Motor driving control device

In a high-pressure fuel pump of a fuel supplying apparatus, the amount of movement of a plunger (cam speed) occurring during a unit-angle rotation of a cam changes in accordance with the phase of the cam. The amount of fuel delivered from the high-pressure fuel pump is controlled by changing the start timing of closure of an electromagnetic spill valve. However, the amount of fuel delivered is greatly affected by the cam speed at the start of closure of the spill valve. Therefore, for example, a cam profile of the cam is set such that the closure start timing of the electromagnetic spill valve that provides a maximum amount of fuel that needs to be delivered for fuel injection is placed within a predetermined cam angle range in which the change in the cam speed with respect to changes in phase of the cam is constant. Therefore, the changing of the closure start timing of the electromagnetic spill valve for the purpose of adjusting the amount of fuel delivered is performed within the predetermined cam angle range.

Fuel supplying apparatus and method for internal combustion engine

During the idling state, the number of times of injecting fuel per performance of the fuel delivery from a high-pressure fuel pump is decreased or increased. If the number of times of injecting fuel per performance of the fuel delivery is decreased, the amount of fuel that needs to be delivered by one performance of the fuel delivery is reduced, so that the timing of starting to close an electromagnetic spill valve can be delayed. Therefore, the lift of a plunger for 1&deg; rotation of a cam (i.e., cam speed) at the time of closure of the electromagnetic spill valve decreases, so that the force applied from fuel to the electromagnetic spill valve in the valve closing direction decreases. If the number of times of injecting fuel per performance of the fuel delivery is increased, the noises produced at the time of closure of the electromagnetic spill valve increase because the timing of starting to close the spill valve is advanced to increase the amount of fuel delivered by one performance of the fuel delivery. However, the number of times of closing the electromagnetic spill valve during a predetermined period decreases, so that the number of occurrences of the valve closure noises decreases.

An energization control device for an electric motor includes: a rotor angle sensor for detecting a motor rotational angle; a current sensor for detecting a current flowing through a phase coil; a control data storage device for storing therein a plurality of control data items in map format which correspond to rotational conditions of the rotor; and a control device for controlling the energization of the phase coil. The control device obtains first control data items for deriving a first torque from the motor and second control data items for a second torque, when a target torque is intended to be derived from the motor which is smaller and larger than the first torque and the second torque, respectively. The control device, when establishing an energization control for deriving the target torque from the motor, uses the first control data item and the second control data item in such a manner that a ratio of the second control data item to the first control data item is the ratio of a first deviation between the first torque and the target torque to a second deviation between the target torque and the second torque.

A chopping energization control device is made up of a first switching element interposed between one end of a load and one terminal of a power supply, a second switching element interposed between the other end of the load and the other terminal of the power supply, a signal generation device for generating an energization indication signal which makes the first switching element and the second switching element conductive in order to establish a chopping energization control of the load, and a control device for giving a delay, in response to the energization indication signal, between when the first switching element is made to be conductive and when the second switching element is made to be conductive. The control device has a changeover device for establishing, whenever a set time duration elapses, that an earlier conductive switching element and a later conductive switching element are interchanged with each other where the one of the first switching element and the second switching element and the other are defined as the earlier conductive switching element and the later conductive switching element, respectively.
