A method of processing a purchase transaction includes generating a transaction file containing a product code, which is transmitted from a user computing device when an image of a product code identifier is captured by the user computing device, a first user ID of the customer, and an indicator of whether or not the customer has opted in to receive electronic receipts. The method further includes generating an electronic receipt based on the transaction file, storing a conversion table containing the first and second user IDs of the customer, converting the first user ID contained in the transaction file to the second user ID based on the conversion table, when the indicator indicates that the customer has opted in, and storing the electronic receipt in association with the second user ID. The electronic receipt is transmitted in response to a request for electronic receipts associated with the second user ID.

Method for processing a purchase transaction using a plurality of transaction systems

A method of distributing purchase recommendations to a user terminal and tracking their effectiveness includes receiving an image of a product code captured from a user terminal at a store server through a wireless device, the store server connected to a first database from which the store server retrieves product information relating to the product code, the product information including one or more recommended products associated with the product, and a second database that tracks effectiveness of recommendations for each product, and transmitting the product information to the user terminal through the wireless device. The presence of at least one recommended product in the product information causes the self-registration program in the user terminal to display a user interface for accessing information about the recommended product on the user terminal and enable the store server to update the second database by tracking the user inputs made through the user interface.

The salesclerk specification section specifies a salesclerk as a notified target based on at least one of the advertising information that the customer as the received target is watching specified by the customer specification section and the position of each salesclerk. The notification section notifies the existence of the customer as the received target specified by the customer specification section to a portable communication terminal carried by the salesclerk as the notified target specified by the salesclerk specification section.

According to one embodiment, a database system includes a first and second storage unit, a reading unit, and a generating unit. The first storage unit stores a first data table in which first data records, each including information about information fields, are described. The second storage unit stores a second data table in which second data records including pieces of attribute information, each representing a display attribute about the information field included in the first data record, are described. The reading unit reads out the first and second data records from the first and second storage units in accordance with the fact that displaying the information included in the first data table is requested. The generating unit generates an image for displaying the information included in the read first data record in accordance with the display attribute represented by the attribute information included in the read second data.
