A turbocharger includes a turbine housing accommodating a turbine wheel, and a waste gate valve connected to the turbine housing. A valve seat for the waste gate valve is provided at an opening edge of a bypass passage on an inner wall surface of the turbine housing. The waste gate valve includes a shaft rotatably supported by a wall, and a valve element extending in a radial direction of the shaft from an end portion of the shaft on an inner side of the turbine housing. A contact surface of the valve seat and a contact surface of the valve element are a flat surface. The waste gate valve is a one-piece molding including the shaft and the valve element.

Turbocharger

A turbine housing includes an accommodation space that accommodates a turbine wheel, a discharge passage connected to the accommodation space, and a bypass passage that extends from the scroll passage bypassing the accommodation space and is connected to the discharge passage. The bypass passage extends so that an end surface on an upstream side of the catalytic device is located on a center axis of the bypass passage. An air-fuel ratio sensor is located closer to a center axis of the accommodation space than the center axis of the bypass passage. A protuberance that protrudes from an inner wall surface of the discharge passage is located between the accommodation space and the air-fuel ratio sensor. The protuberance protrudes toward the center axis of the accommodation space.

Exhaust structure for internal combustion engine

An electric waste gate valve system includes a waste gate valve, an electric actuator that drives waste gate valve, an impeller rotation speed sensor, and an electronic control unit. The waste gate valve opens and closes a bypass passage that bypasses a turbine impeller of a turbocharger. The electronic control unit is configured to calculate a predicted value of the rotation speed of the impeller when the waste gate valve is closed. The electronic control unit is configured to drive the electric actuator in a valve-closing direction to close the waste gate valve. The electronic control unit is configured to stop the driving of the waste gate valve by the electric actuator when the rotation speed of the impeller detected by the impeller rotation speed sensor increases to a reference value determined based on the predicted value.

Electric waste gate valve system and method for controlling electric waste gate valve system

A wastegate valve is arranged in a communication passage that bypasses the exhaust turbine of a turbocharger arranged in the exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine. When the opening degree of the wastegate valve is controlled to the fully closed opening degree, a determination value is calculated based on the operation state of the internal combustion engine, and the turbo rotation speed is detected. When the turbo rotation speed is less than the determination value, a drive force is increased in the direction for closing the wastegate valve.

Wastegate valve control device

A turbine housing includes an outer housing member, which has a proximal housing portion and a distal housing portion, and an inner housing member, which is provided inside the outer housing member and has a shroud surface that faces a turbine wheel in an axial direction. A distal portion of the inner housing member serves as a slide portion slidable in the axial direction. Further, a proximal portion of the inner housing member is fixed to the proximal housing portion at a part closer to a distal side than a proximal portion of the proximal housing portion. Further, a scroll portion is formed by the inner housing member and a proximal scroll portion of the proximal housing portion located closer to a proximal side than the inner housing member.
