A power supply device for an internal combustion engine, using a generator driven by an internal combustion engine as a power source and supplying power to a first load that needs to be constantly driven to cause the internal combustion engine to operate and a second load that is permitted not to drive during startup of the engine, wherein a first generation coil for driving the first load and a second generation coil for driving the second load are provided to be magnetically-coupled tightly in the generator, and voltage supplied to a load is boosted to a higher voltage value than conventionally achieved by performing chopper control of an energizing current of the first generation coil and an energizing current of the second generation coil while preventing energization from the second generation coil to a load.

Power supply device for internal combustion engine

A power generating apparatus including an AC generator that supplies electric power to a load including a voltage accumulating means, an inverter that applies AC control voltage to armature winding of the generator from the voltage accumulating means, and a controller that controls a phase of control voltage applied to the armature winding by the inverter to keep load voltage at a target value, wherein the phase of the control voltage is controlled so as to advance when the load voltage is higher than the target value, hold the present phase when the load voltage is equal to the target value, advance when the load voltage is lower than the target value and a phase of phase voltage of the generator is delayed behind a phase of a phase current of the same phase, and delay when the load voltage is lower than the target value and the phase of the phase voltage of the generator is advanced ahead of a phase of a phase current of the same phase.

Power generating apparatus

A generation device, having a magneto generator, in which an AC control voltage is applied from a battery charged with a rectified output of the magneto generator to an armature winding of the generator through an inverter to control a battery voltage to a limit value or less, comprising: fixed point detection means for detecting a fixed point on a waveform of a phase current of the generator; phase current phase detection means for detecting a phase angle of the fixed point in relation to a reference phase; arithmetical operation means for arithmetically operating timing for generating the AC control voltage with reference to the phase of the fixed point; and inverter control means for controlling switch elements of the inverter so as to generate the AC control voltage at the timing arithmetically operated by the arithmetical operation means.

An inverter controlled generator set including: a power supply unit that uses a generator driven by an engine as a power supply to output a DC voltage; an inverter device that converts the output voltage of the power supply unit into an AC voltage; and a rotational speed control unit that controls a rotational speed of the engine so as to be kept at a target rotational speed suitable for a load applied to the inverter device, wherein the rotational speed control unit is comprised so that a settling time when the rotational speed of the engine is caused to converge to the target rotational speed in a state where the load is above a set value is longer than a settling time when the rotational speed is caused to converge to the target rotational speed in a state where the load is below the set value, in order to minimize an operation sound of the engine when the load is intermittently driven.

A method for controlling an inverter controlled generator set which comprises a DC power source section having as a power source a generator driven by an engine and an inverter which converts an output of said DC power source section into an AC output, the method comprising a step of controlling a rotational speed of the engine so that the AC output suitable for driving a load is output from the inverter; wherein, after the engine is started, the rotational speed of the engine is controlled by a constant speed control mode for maintaining the rotational speed of the engine at a set rotational speed, and the rotational speed of the engine is increased to the set rotational speed; and wherein an operation of the inverter is started after the rotational speed of the engine reaches the set rotational speed.

An inverter unit comprising component parts including at least an inverter and a filter which removes a high harmonic wave component from an output of said inverter, wherein said component parts are housed in an aluminum case having a bottom wall portion and a side wall portion, said filter includes a coil which is wound around a core extending straight and is arranged at a position closed to one end of said case, an end portion of said core being wound with said coil is arranged closed to an inner surface of said side wall portion of the case, and a ferromagnetic plate, which leads magnetic flux coming in and out said end portion of the core arranged closed to said wall portion of the case to the direction along the inner surface of the side wall portion of the case, is disposed between said end portion of said core and said inner surface of said side wall portion of the case.

Inverter unit

A generating device that includes an AC/DC conversion unit having a rectifier circuit that rectifies an output of a magneto rotor and applies the output to a battery, and an inverter circuit that converts a voltage of the battery into an AC control voltage and applies the AC control voltage to an armature coil of the magneto generator, performs chopper control that controls switch elements of the inverter circuit so as to interrupt an output current of the magneto generator to control the output of the magneto generator when a rotational speed of the magneto generator is lower than a set speed, and performs drive control that applies the AC control voltage from the battery through the inverter circuit to the armature coil when the rotational speed becomes higher than the set speed, and changes a phase angle of the AC control voltage to control the output of the magneto generator.

Generating device having magneto generator

A generating device including a magneto generator, wherein: an AC control voltage is applied to an armature coil of the magneto generator from a battery via an inverter to change a phase angle of the AC control voltage, thus increase/reduce an output of the magneto generator and match the output of the generator with a target value; it is determined that a characteristic, in which the output of the magneto generator increases when the phase angle of the AC control voltage is delayed, is a normal control characteristic, and a characteristic, in which the output of the magneto generator decreases when the phase angle of the AC control voltage is delayed, is a reciprocal control characteristic; and it is determined whether a present control characteristic of the output of the generator relative to the phase angle of the AC control voltage is the normal control characteristic or the reciprocal control characteristic to decide, based on a determination result, a changing direction of the phase angle of the AC control voltage when the output of the generator is controlled and brought close to the target value.

A vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine, which has a generator comprised so that: a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine is connected to drive wheels of the vehicle via a power transmission device having a centrifugal clutch; a rotor of a generator is connected to the crankshaft of the internal combustion engine via an acceleration mechanism; and in the case where the generator is operated to supply power to a load when the vehicle is stopped, the generator generates a nominal output while the internal combustion engine rotates at a certain rotational speed between an idle rotational speed and a clutch-in speed.

A starter generator for an internal combustion engine including: a rotating electric machine having a magnet rotor mounted to a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine, and a stator with a three-phase first armature coil and a three-phase second armature coil; a first battery and a second battery connected in series or in parallel; a first driver circuit provided between the first armature coil and the first battery, and a second driver circuit provided between the second armature coil and the second battery; and an inverter that converts voltages of the first battery and the second battery into an AC voltage, wherein drive currents are supplied to the first armature coil and the second armature coil from the first battery and the second battery through switch circuits in the first driver and the second driver, when the engine is started, and induced voltages of the first armature coil and the second armature coil are supplied to the batteries through rectifier circuits in the first driver and the second driver to charge the batteries, after the engine is started.

A method of controlling a parallel operation of two inverter power generation apparatuses wherein an unbalance of outputs from the two inverter power generation apparatuses is cancelled by judging that the outputs of the two inverter power generation apparatuses have the collapse of the balance between them when a DC power supply voltage obtained from a DC power supply section exceeds a judgment value set at a value equal to or more than a non-load output voltage of the DC power supply section and allowing an overload operation of the inverter power generation apparatus of higher output voltage among the two inverter power generation apparatuses so as to lower the output voltage of the corresponding inverter power generation apparatus.
