It is aimed to prevent a reduction in connection reliability. A terminal fitting is to be mounted into a housing having a board accommodation space and is provided with a connection terminal including a resilient contact piece to be brought into contact with a circuit board inserted into the board accommodation space and a protection terminal separate from the connection terminal and attached to the connection terminal. The connection terminal is movable with respect to the protection terminal between a protection position where the resilient contact piece is accommodated in the protection terminal and a connection position where the resilient contact piece is exposed to outside of the protection terminal to be contactable with the circuit board.

Terminal fitting

A circuit board () is arranged in a receptacle (). A housing () having an accommodation space () is fit into the receptacle (). A protecting member () is arranged movably to an initial position and a connection position in the housing (). A terminal fitting () includes a contact point portion () facing the accommodation space (). The protecting member () includes a body portion () to be located on an opening side of the accommodation space () at the initial position and retracted from the opening side of the accommodation space () at the connection position, and a hooked portion () connected to an end part of the body (). The receptacle () includes a hooking portion () on an inner surface for moving the protecting member () from the connection position to the initial position by hooking the hooked portion ().

Card edge connector

A connector is provided with a connecting member including a contact point portion, a housing for holding the connecting member and a protecting member displaceable with respect to the connecting member to a protection position for protecting the contact point portion and a connection position for bringing the contact point portion into contact with a circuit board. The housing includes a lock portion for holding the protecting member at the protection position.

Board connecting connector

A card edge connector includes: a housing including a board accommodation space and a connection terminal including a resilient contact piece configured to contact a circuit board inserted into the board accommodation space, the connection terminal being mounted into the housing. The connection terminal is movable between a connection position where the resilient contact piece is in contact with a surface of the circuit board and a retraction position where the resilient contact piece is separated from the circuit board. A first interference preventing portion and a second interference preventing portion are formed between a moving path of the resilient contact piece and the board accommodation space. The first interference preventing portion and the second interference preventing portion restrict the interference of the resilient contact piece and an inserting end part of the circuit board inserted into the board accommodation space in a moving process of the connection terminal.

Card edge connector preventing a reduction in connection reliability

It is aimed to improve a holding force for holding a retainer on a housing. A female connector (F) includes a female housing (), female terminal fittings () to be inserted into the female housing () from behind, and a retainer () mounted on the female housing (). The retainer () is movable in a direction intersecting an inserting direction of the female terminal fittings () between a partial locking position where insertion of the female terminal fittings () into the female housing () is allowed and a full locking position where the female terminal fittings () inserted into the female housing () are retained. The female housing () is formed with displacement restricting portions (). The retainer () is formed with hooking portions () capable of coming into contact with the displacement restricting portions () from front when the retainer () is at the full locking position.

Connector having improved holding force for retainer

It is aimed to reduce an external force acting on a circuit board. A connector () is provided with a housing () including a board accommodating portion (), a circuit board () accommodated in the board accommodating portion (), a first terminal holding portion () formed in the housing () to be integrated with the board accommodating portion (), a second terminal holding portion () formed in the housing () to be integrated with the board accommodating portion () and second terminal fittings () connected to the circuit board () while being held in the second terminal holding portion ().

Circuit device, method for manufacturing circuit device and connector

A movable member () provided in a housing () is formed with a cover () configured to cover inserting edges () on a tip of a circuit board () in an inserting direction into a board accommodation space () when the circuit board () is inserted into the board accommodation space () and a receiving surface () configured to move the movable member () integrally with the circuit board () to a back side of the board accommodation space () by being pushed by the circuit board (). The movable member () and the circuit board () are formed with locks () configured to move the movable member () integrally with the circuit board () in a withdrawing direction from the board accommodation space () by locking each other.

It is aimed to avoid the abrasion of a contact portion of a terminal fitting. When a harness-side housing () is connected to a board-side housing (), a contact portion () of a terminal fitting () resiliently contacts a circuit board (), whereas a body portion () of the terminal fitting () is pressed against a ceiling wall () of a cavity (). The body portion () is formed with a projecting edge (). When there is a thermal expansion difference in an arrangement direction of the cavities () between the circuit board () and the harness-side housing (), the terminal fitting () pivots with a resilient abutting part of the contact portion () and the circuit board () serving as a supporting point.

It is aimed to enable a short circuit in a retainer insertion hole to be avoided. Short-circuit preventing walls () configured to partition between cavities () adjacent in an arrangement direction are provided in a retainer insertion hole (). A retainer () is provided with a plurality of frame-like portions () along the arrangement direction of the respective cavities (). Each frame-like portion () is formed to be able to communicate with the corresponding cavity (). Escaping grooves () are formed along a mounting direction of the retainer () between the frame-like portions () adjacent in the arrangement direction. Escaping grooves () are open on front end parts in the mounting direction of the retainer () such that the retainer () is mountable into the retainer insertion hole () while avoiding interference with the short circuit preventing walls ().

Connector

It is aimed to prevent a reduction of contact reliability. A card edge connector (A) includes a first housing () formed with a board accommodation space () open forward, terminal fittings () provided in the first housing () and formed with resilient contact portions () projecting toward the board accommodation space (), a second housing () including a circuit board () to be inserted into the board accommodation space () from front of the first housing (), and guide slopes () made of synthetic resin, provided to cover a leading edge of the circuit board () in an inserting direction into the board accommodation space () and inclined with respect to the inserting direction into the board accommodation space ().

Card edge connector and method for manufacturing same

A card edge connector includes supporting walls () provided along a plurality of juxtaposed terminal fittings () and configured to receive reaction forces from the side of a circuit board () due to a resilient pressing action of resilient contact pieces () and a front wall () connected to front end edges of the supporting walls (). The front wall () is formed with a board insertion port () in the form of a slit-like opening substantially parallel to a juxtaposition direction of the terminal fittings () and communicating with a board accommodation space () and a coupling portion () configured to couple two long-side opening edges () substantially parallel to the supporting walls (). The circuit board () is formed with a cut () configured to avoid interference with the coupling portion () in a state inserted in the board accommodation space ().

A card edge connector includes a harness-side connector (H) in which a plurality of terminal fittings () are juxtaposed in a harness-side housing () and a board-side connector (P) in which a circuit board () is attached to a board-side housing (). When the two housings () are connected, the plurality of terminal fittings () are resiliently brought into contact with a plurality of contact portions () juxtaposed on the circuit board (). The harness-side housing () includes a terminal accommodating portion () for accommodating the plurality of terminal fittings () in a state positioned in a juxtaposition direction, and at least a part of the terminal accommodating portion () is made of a material having a linear expansion coefficient substantially equal to that of a material of the circuit board ().

A card edge connector includes a harness-side connector (H) in which a plurality of terminal fittings () are arranged side by side in a harness-side housing () and a board-side connector (P) in which a connecting edge portion () of a circuit board () projects from a front surface (F) of a board-side housing (). The harness-side housing () includes a terminal accommodating portion () configured to accommodate the plurality of terminal fittings (), and a housing accommodating portion () arranged to face a front surface (F) of the terminal accommodating portion () and configured to accommodate the board-side housing () connected to the harness-side housing (). A resilient member () configured to bias the terminal accommodating portion () and the board-side housing () in a direction toward or away from each other in parallel to a connecting direction is provided in the housing accommodating portion ().
