Disclosed herein are stable organosiloxane coating compositions comprising a blocked isocyanate silane and at least one polyol that provide abrasion resistant coatings for transparent polymer substrates. The cured coatings also have excellent adhesion to the polymer substrates. In accordance with certain embodiments, the disclosed coating compositions, which when cured on the substrate, provide formable, weatherable, anti-fog, or combinations of formable, weatherable, or anti-fog organosiloxane coatings. Also disclosed herein are articles comprising coatings cured from such coating compositions, and processes for making the coating compositions.

Coating compositions comprising a blocked isocyanate silane

Stable organosiloxane coating compositions that provide transparent, abrasion-resistant, chemical-resistant, low-tack, and water-washable anti-fog coatings when cured, are described herein. The coating compositions comprise an epoxy functional alkoxysilane, a tetrafunctional alkoxysilane, an alkoxysilyl functional polymer having polyethylene oxide segments, an alkoxysilyl functional cationic surfactant, and a carboxylic acid functional compound. Articles coated with the coating compositions, processes for coating substrates with the anti-fog coating compositions, and processes for making the coating compositions are also described herein.

There are provided a resin composition that is suitable for an optical component which, while maintaining moldability, low birefringence, heat resistance, mass productivity, mechanical strength, and light transmittance, hardly exhibits a low light transmittance during the use of a blue-violet laser beam source and a deterioration in optical properties, and an optical component produced by molding the resin composition, and a optical pickup device using the optical component. The present invention provides a resin composition comprising 0.05 to 5 parts by weight of the specific hindered amine compound based on 100 parts by weight of the polymer having an alicyclic structure in at least a part of repeating structural unit, an optical component produced by molding the resin composition, and a optical pickup device using the optical component.

Polyurethane coating compositions that provide transparent, abrasion-resistant, and water-washable anti-fog coatings when applied to a substrate and cured are described herein. These polyurethane coating compositions have surfactants that are chemically associated with the polyurethane so as to not leach out or wash away when the coating surface is soaked or washed with water. The polyurethane coating compositions comprise isocyanate-reactive surfactants, isocyanate-reactive salts of surfactants, carboxylic-reactive surfactants, or combinations thereof that are chemically bonded to the polyurethane. Articles coated with such polyurethane coating compositions, and processes for applying the coating compositions to a substrate, are also provided herein.

By using an amine hydrochloride represented by the formula (1) as a catalyst, a polythiourethane resin which is suitably used for a transparent resin for optical use, can be obtained without using an organotin compound which has been conventionally used as a catalyst for polythiourethane resins and without being affected by the acidity of an additive: wherein R, Rand Rindependently represent a monovalent or higher valent linear aliphatic, branched aliphatic, cyclic aliphatic or aromatic organic residue which may have a hydroxyl group or an amino group; and R, Rand Rmay be arbitrarily bonded to each other to form a ring.

The polymerization catalyst for a polythiourethane-based optical material of the present invention includes a sulfonate represented by the following general formula (1). Furthermore, in the formula, R, R, Rand Reach independently represent an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R, R, Rand Rmay be bonded to each other to form a ring. Disclosed is an internal mold release agent for the production of polythiourethane optical materials, which is obtained by mixing an acidic phosphate ester compound and at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Zn, Cu, Fe, Ga, Bi, Al and Zr. The internal mold release agent for the production of polythiourethane optical materials contains the metal in an amount of 0.01 to 20 weight %.
