A water filter cartridge having particulate activated carbon filled in a case for accommodating a filtering material in which the ratio of the total mass of particulate activated carbon having a particle size of 0.3 to 4.0 mm relative to the total mass of activated carbon is 97% by mass or more, and, in a particle size distribution which represents the relationship of the mass ratio of activated carbon relative to the particle size of activated carbon, a peak at which the mass ratio is 31% by mass or more does not appear in a particle size range of from 0.3 to 4.0 mm.

Water filter cartridge and water purifier

A carbonate spring producing system includes a gas-liquid separator which is connected on the downstream side of a carbonic acid gas dissolver which connects to a carbonic acid gas supply means and hot water supply. A liquid lead-out pipe is connected to the gas-liquid separator. Preferably an un-dissolved carbonic acid gas lead-out pipe is connected on the upstream sides of the gas-liquid separator and the carbonic acid gas dissolver. The un-dissolved carbonic acid gas lead-out pipe includes a control valve, a compressor, and a liquid level detection means. The control valve controls a flow rate of un-dissolved carbonic acid gas from the gas-liquid separator. An amount of un-dissolved carbonic acid gas in the gas-liquid separator is monitored, so that the un-dissolved carbonic acid gas in the hot water can be separated and removed by the gas-liquid separator. The separated and removed un-dissolved carbonic acid gas can be re-dissolved.

This invention concerns an apparatus and a method for producing carbonated water capable of obtaining high concentration carbonated water effectively. Carbon dioxide gas is passed through a first carbon dioxide gas dissolver composed of a membrane module to be dissolved in water and the carbonated water passing through the first carbon dioxide gas dissolver is passed through a static mixer, which is a second carbon dioxide gas dissolver. Consequently, a high concentration carbonated water can be obtained remarkably, effectively and easily with a simpler structure than conventionally.

Apparatus for producing carbonated water and method for producing carbonated water using the same

This invention concerns an apparatus and a method for producing carbonated water capable of obtaining high concentration carbonated water effectively. Carbon dioxide gas is passed through a first carbon dioxide gas dissolver () composed of a membrane module to be dissolved in water and the carbonated water passing through the first carbon dioxide gas dissolver () is passed through a static mixer (), which is a second carbon dioxide gas dissolver. Consequently, a high concentration carbonated water can be obtained remarkably, effectively and easily with a simpler structure than conventionally.

A crude oil processing method is provided wherein a membrane module is immersed in the crude oil contained in a processing tank and the crude oil is pressurized or driven by gravity for gravitational filtration, thereby to pass through the membrane, with the dehydrated oil that has passed being taken out through an oil collecting pipe. According to this method, a high degree of separation and removal of water content from the crude oil can be carried out regardless of the properties of the crude oil, and muddy matter can also be separated and removed.

Device and method for processing crude oil

The invention concerns a gas diffuser constructed and arranged to disperse gas into a aeration vessel of a water treatment assembly from a blower. The gas diffuser includes main pipes, branch pipes extending between the main pipes and containing gas discharge ports, wherein the branch pipes have a smaller cross-sectional area than the cross-sectional area of the main pipes. The gas discharge ports are further sized, constructed and arranged to reduce the possibility or likelihood of sludge from blocking the ports or entering the branch pipes. This object is achieved either by placement of the ports on the bottom sides of the branch pipes or, alternatively, by construction of the ports to include conduit members, themselves having an arrangement of openings or coverings to prevent or reduce the likelihood of sludge from blocking the ports or entering the branch pipes.

Gas diffuser for aeration vessel of membrane assembly

A method for cleaning separating membranes uses a uniquely formulated detergent. The detergent includes a percarbonate-containing, material, existing in the condition in which hydrogen peroxide is adducted in carbonate and is desirably an alkali metal salt. The percarbonate decomposes the organisms deposited on the membrane surfaces while being environmentally desirable. The detergent preferably also includes at least one bivalent iron salt, which improves the cleaning capability of the percarbonate via the so-called Fenton's reaction in which hydrogen peroxide adducted in the percarbonate reacts with the iron ions to form OH&mdash; radicals which have a very high oxidative reactivity. The detergent may also contain other oxidizers, a surfactant, a chelating agent, an acid and a pH regulator. The detergent is dissolved in water prior to use.

Method of cleaning membrane assembly with detergent

A membrane separator assembly for separating solids from water includes opposing enclosure wall structures, a membrane module unit, and a gas diffuser disposed below the membrane module unit. The membrane module unit includes a plurality of membrane modules respectively having at least one separating membrane extending between at least two membrane fixing members. At least one of the membrane fixing members has a main passage which is in fluid communication with a membrane passageway. The membrane passageway is accessible to water via permeation through the separating membranes and is inaccessible to solids which are impermeable relative to the separating membranes. The membrane separator assembly is preferably used with a detergent containing percarbonate, preferably sodium percarbonate. The assembly also includes a gas diffuser with two opposing main pipes and branch pipes extending therebetween to avoid undesired pressure differentials when cleaning the assembly.

An object is to provide a highly integrated hollow fiber membrane module and hollow fiber membrane module unit as filtration processing devices which are appropriate for miniaturization, and to also provide a purification tank with a hollow fiber membrane module unit installed therein. To achieve this there is provided a hollow fiber membrane module in which at least one end of a hollow fiber membrane with hollow fibers deployed in a plane is fixed with a fixing resin to a collector pipe in a fluid tight manner, constructed such that an open ended tip of the hollow fiber membrane is inserted into an aperture provided in the collector pipe, and in this condition, fixing resin is filled into the aperture and hardened, thereby securing the open ended hollow fiber membrane to the collector pipe. Also provided is a hollow fiber membrane module unit wherein a plurality of the hollow fiber membrane modules are positioned proximately, and a purification tank with the hollow fiber membrane module units installed therein.

A process is described for the formation of an undercoat which is in turn useful in forming a CRT metal back layer. According to the process, a pretreatment composition is coated on a glass panel having a fluorescent layer overlaid thereon, so that a water film is formed. The pretreatment composition is composed of 2-20 wt. % of an alkyl monoalcohol having a C.sub.1-3 alkyl group, 0.05-1 wt. % of a water-soluble, high molecular compound and 79-97.95 wt. % of water. An undercoating composition is then coated on the water film by a wet-on-wet coating method, whereby a coating layer is formed. The undercoating composition is composed of 1-7 parts by weight of an acrylic resin, which has been obtained by polymerizing 90-100 wt. % of an alkyl methacrylate having a C.sub.1-4 alkyl group other than tertbutyl methacrylate and 0-10 wt. % of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer copolymerizable therewith, and 99-93 parts by weight of a solvent containing at least 80 wt. % of toluene. The sum of the acrylic resin and the solvent is 100 parts by weight. The water film and the coating layer are dried to form the undercoat.
