The present invention provides a rotary damper in which both yields and braking characteristics can be enhanced. The rotary damper of the invention includes a valve mechanism which comprises an operating chamberthrough which fluid can pass, a valve bodywhich forwardly moves from a natural state position when the valve bodyreceives fluid pressure and which can forwardly moves in the operating chamber, and a first springcapable of giving a resistance to the forward movement of the valve body. The valve mechanism can reduce a flow rate of fluid which passes through the operating chamberby a flow pathformed between the valve bodyand a peripheral wallof the operating chamber. A reducing amount of fluid can be increased as a moving distance of the valve bodywhich forwardly moves in the operating chamberis increased.

Rotary damper

Described is a rotary damper comprising a partition wall to partition space formed between a rotor and a housing to house said rotor and to form a fluid chamber to be fluid-filled; and a vane to be disposed in said fluid chamber; and a plug to close an opening of said housing; wherein said plug has a flange to be used for mounting which protrudes from an outer circumferential surface of said plug and a stepped portion to enable part of a roller caulking an edge of said opening of said housing to revolve and travel along a peripheral edge of said housing so that said plug having said flange is coupled to said housing by caulking an edge of said opening of said housing.

Rotary damper and method for manufacturing rotary damper

A rotary damper is provided which can include a valve () which automatically varies a flow rate of a viscous fluid passing through fluid passages (a,b) in correspondence with variation in load. The valve () comprises a leaf spring. The flow rate-adjusting portion (g) constituting the valve () is provided so as not to close the fluid passages (a,b) when no load is applied and bends so that its one surface side projects when no load is applied and becomes deformed in a direction in which the fluid passage (b) is closed when receiving pressure of the viscous fluid on its one surface side. The flow rate of the viscous fluid passing through the fluid passage (b) is adjusted depending on a degree of deformation of the flow rate-adjusting portion (g) corresponding to magnitude of pressure of the viscous fluid applied to one surface side of the flow rate-adjusting portion (g). The flow rate-adjusting portion (g), when receiving pressure of the viscous fluid on its other surface side, keeps the fluid passages (a,b) open at all times.

Rotary damper and automobile part comprising it and auxiliary mechanism of rotary operation

A method for manufacturing a purified aromatic urethane. Aromatic urethanes are synthesized from a N,N'-disubstituted urea and an organic hydroxyl compound in a reaction medium. The organic hydroxyl compound and the primary aromatic amine side product which are present in the reaction mixture is distilled off and removed from the reaction mixture leaving a distillation bottom. The N,N'-disubstituted urea is separated and removed from the distillation bottom by solvent extraction of the aromatic urethane, and the aromatic urethane in the extract phase obtained in said solvent extraction is separated and purified.

Method of manufacturing aromatic urethanes

A method of manufacturing aromatic urethanes utilizes a urea production process wherein a primary aromatic amine, an aromatic nitro-compound and carbon monoxide are made to react together in the presence of a catalyst and solvents, to produce N,N'-disubstituted urea, the solvlent used in the urea production process consisting at least partly of an amide or oxygen-containing sulfur compound, and having the functions of stabilizing the catalyst and preventing it from separating out in a solution, and of increasing the activity of the catalyst, the quantity of the solvent being sufficient to permit it to fulfill these functions effectively. The method additionally includes an aromatic urethane production process wherein the N,N'-disubstituted urea produced is made to react with an organic compound containing hydroxyl groups, to produce a primary aromatic amine and aromatic urethane, the primary aromatic amine being separated to obtain the aromatic urethane.

A thin-film device having the structure of a bipolar transistor is provided. The device has three thin-films formed one on another to form emitter, base and collector regions, thereby providing a NPN or PNP structure depending on the impurities contained in these thin-films. The present bipolar thin-film device is particularly useful as a phototransistor, though use is not limited only for this. A non-transparent, insulating layer having an opening may be provided to limit the passage of light and to improve the transistor characteristics.

Thin-film device

A linear solid-state image sensor includes a first chip and a second chip, each of the first and second chips having a long substrate, a plural number of photo-responsive elements formed in a line on the substrate, an analog switch circuit driving the photo-responsive elements, and a shift register shifting signal to make the analog switch circuit successively effective. The second chip is mechanically connected to the first chip so that a shift direction of the shift register circuit is in agreement with a shift direction of the shift register circuit of the first chip. The linear solid-stage image sensor further includes an external wiring connecting a first stage of the shift register circuit of the first chip and a final stage of the shift register circuit of the second chip, and an input wiring being formed on the substrate of the second chip and leading signal input from the terminal at the end of the side opposite a connection portion with the first chip to a first stage of the shift register circuit of the second chip.

Linear solid state image sensor

A full-size image sensor includes a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements formed on a substrate and arranged into a line. A photosensitive surface of each of the photoelectric conversion elements is perpendicular to a document to be scanned. A transparent layer is formed on the substrate so as to cover the photoelectric conversion elements. A light reflecting layer made of a light interrupting member is formed on the transparent layer so as to prevent light emitted from a light source from being directly projected onto the photoelectric conversion elements. The light emitted from the light source is reflected on the document and then projected onto the photoelectric conversion elements directly or after being reflected by the light reflecting layer.

Full-size image sensor

A force detecting device includes an insulative strain element, strain sensors, and leads. The insulative strain element is electrically insulative at least at its surface. The strain sensors are formed of a piezoresistive thin film and deposited as a piezoresistive thin film pattern on the surface of the insulative strain element integrally therewith. The leads are formed of a highly conductive thin film and deposited as a highly conductive thin film pattern on the surface of the insulative strain element integrally therewith.

Force detecting device

A total contact type photoelectric conversion device comprises a substrate having an optically transparent portion, a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements formed in a line on the substrate, and a cover layer covering the plurality of the photoelectric conversion elements and having a roller load region within which the cover layer is to make contact with a sheet partially wrapped around a peripheral surface of a roller for feeding the sheet in a sub-scanning direction. The plurality of photoelectric conversion elements are aligned in a main scanning direction perpendicular to the sub-scanning direction and are located outside the roller load region. Therefore, incident light passing through the device is reflected on a position on the sheet outside the roller load region.

Total contact type photoelectric conversion device and optical reader

An image sensing device includes a plurality of photoelectric elements arranged in the form of a single array and divided into n number of blocks each of which includes m number of the photoelectric elements commonly connected at one end. In one form of the present invention, a single operational amplifier and m number of switching circuits are used to establish operational independency of the m.times.n photoelectric elements. In other forms, operational independecy of the m.times.n photoelectric elements is established by using an array of blocking diodes or operational amplifiers constructed in the form of IC, but all of the components of a driving or scanning circuit, including these blocking diodes or operational amplifiers, are so structured to be mounted on the same substrate which is remarkably compact in size. Also provided are various forms of photoelectric cells which are particularly suited to be incorporated into an image sensing device and methods for manufacturing the same.

Image sensing

According to a method of manufacturing a diphenylmethane dicarbamic acid ester by reacting an N-phenyl carbamic acid diester with a methylating agent in an aqueous acid solution, the aqueous acid solution is an aqueous inorganic acid solution, and the concentration of the N-phenyl carbamic acid ester in the aqueous acid solution is not more than the solubility thereof at the reaction temperature.
