A heat exchanger includes: a first flow passage where first liquid flows; a second flow passage where second liquid flows; and a heat exchanger main body configured to exchange heat between the first liquid and the second liquid. The heat exchanger main body includes a cross-sectional area adjuster configured to change a flow passage cross-sectional area of at least one of the first flow passage and the second flow passage by thermal deformation. The cross-sectional area adjuster adjusts a value of the flow passage cross-sectional area in a low temperature range to be larger than a value of the flow passage cross-sectional area in a high temperature range.

Heat exchanger

A lubrication structure includes a liquid drop splashing device and an electret portion. The liquid drop splashing device is configured to turn a lubricating liquid for lubricating machine-element components into liquid drops. The liquid drop splashing device is configured to splash the lubricating liquid turned into the liquid drops. The machine-element components configure contact parts. Each contact part is a part where corresponding adjacent machine-element components come into contact with each other. An electret portion is provided to a vicinity of each contact part. The electret portion is composed of an electret.

Lubrication structure and transmission

A pair of toothed wheels that mesh with each other includes a plateau portion. The surface of the plateau portion is a plateau-structure surface formed on each tooth face of each of the pair of the toothed wheels, with peak portions of convexities, out of a plurality of concavities and the convexities provided on the each tooth face, being flat. A reduced valley depth Rvk of the plateau portion of one of the pair of the toothed wheels as defined in JISB0671-2 is greater than the reduced valley depth Rvk of the plateau portion of the other of the pair of the toothed wheels. The area occupied by the concavities in the plateau portion of the one of the toothed wheels is larger than the area occupied by the concavities in the plateau portion of the other toothed wheel.

Lubricating device

A switching apparatus is provided in a hydraulic control apparatus having a fluid transmission apparatus; a lockup clutch; a switching valve that controls engagement of the lockup clutch; and a control oil pressure generation apparatus that pressurizes oil and outputs a control oil pressure to control activation of the switching valve. The switching apparatus executes a control to warm the oil input into the control oil pressure generation apparatus if the temperature of the oil is below a predetermined temperature and prohibits execution of the control to warm the oil input into the control oil pressure generation apparatus if the temperature of the oil equals or exceeds the predetermined temperature.

Hydraulic control apparatus

A torque converter provided with a lock-up clutch and including a pump impeller, a turbine runner, a turbine hub, a stator, a clutch piston rotatable with the turbine runner and cooperating with the pump impeller to define an engaging chamber, a front cover cooperating with the clutch piston to define a releasing chamber and a friction member attached to the front cover, and wherein the lock-up clutch is placed in a slipping state for slipping engagement between the clutch piston and the front cover through the friction member, by a controlled difference between pressures of a working fluid in the engaging and releasing chambers, and the pump impeller and the stator cooperate to define of a first and a second fluid passage both of which communicate with the engaging chamber, while the stator and the turbine hub cooperate with each other to define the other of the first and second fluid passages, and wherein the lock-up clutch is brought into the slipping state with a supply flow of the fluid into the engaging chamber through the first fluid passage and a discharge flow of the fluid from the engaging chamber through the second fluid passage.
