[Object] A computer system in which a server and a storage apparatus are integrated and operated is designed so that a multi-tenant can be realized favorably. [Solution] The present invention provides an integrated computer system in which a business server and a storage apparatus for providing the business server with a storage area are integrated and operated; and the integrated computer system includes a management server for managing the business server and the storage apparatus; wherein the management server sets an integrated tenant which extends across the business server and the storage apparatus, the business server sets a server tenant belonging to the integrated tenant, the storage apparatus sets a storage tenant belonging to the integrated tenant, and the server tenant and the storage tenant are associated with each other by the integrated tenant.

Integrating server and storage via integrated tenant in vertically integrated computer system

The object is to achieve a disaster recovery configuration in a short period of time. In a first storage apparatusP, a child-generation volumePB is created using a snapshot from a parent volumePA, and a grandchild-generation volumePC is created using a snapshot from the child-generation volumePB. Similarly, in a second storage apparatusS as well, a child-generation volumeSB is created using a snapshot from a parent volumeSA, and a grandchild-generation volumeSC is created using a snapshot from the child-generation volumeSB. The parent volumes form a normal remote copy pair. The child-generation volumes and the grandchild-generation volumes form virtual remote copy pairs without implementing an initial copy.

First storage apparatus and first storage apparatus control method

The invention provides a storage system which can estimate a necessary capacity at the time of acquiring a snap shot copy without actually sampling the snap shot copy, and a control method of the same. In a storage system, a disk control unit monitors a write instruction from a host machine for a fixed period, and calculates a capacity necessary at the time of a snap shot, on the basis of the monitored information for the fixed period, in the case of receiving an instruction of calculating the capacity necessary at the time of acquiring the snap shot which makes it possible to refer to the data at a certain time point within a disk unit.

Storage system and control method of the same

For using a plurality of files contained in one logical device with a plurality of processing systems, sharing of a data storage unit among the plurality of processing systems is realized without need for a host processing system to check use states of the files in a server storage unit. Information concerning extent (extent range) of an input/output processing request issued by a host processor is stored in a control memory incorporated in a control unit for allowing the control unit to make decision as to overlap of the extents of the input/output processings to thereby effectuate exclusive control on an extent-by-extent basis.
