An ultrashort pulse laser processing apparatus for processing a processing target includes: a laser head which includes a seed laser source emitting an ultrashort pulse seed laser, and emits a laser pulse; an optical fiber which guides the laser pulse emitted from the laser head; and an emission end unit which includes a compressor that compresses the laser pulse emitted from the optical fiber to a laser pulse of a predetermined high peak power and emits the laser pulse compressed by the compressor to the target.

A corneal surgical apparatus for incising a cornea of a patient's eye in a layered form has a suction ring having an opening, which is vacuum-fixed to the patient's eye so that the cornea is projected from the opening. A cutting unit has a blade and an applanating member so that the cornea projected from the opening is incised by the blade while being applanated by the applanating member. A height changing mechanism is further provided, for changing a height of a tip of the blade in a visual axis direction of the patient's eye with respect to the suction ring.

A corneal surgical apparatus, which can smoothly incise the cornea (particularly the Bowman's membrane at the cutting start) while ensuring the cutting ability of the blade with a simple arrangement. After a suction unit is fixed to a periphery of the cornea of patient's eye, the cornea projecting from an opening portion provided in the suction unit is applanated substantially flatly, and the applanated cornea is incised in a layered form by a blade. The blade is moved such that any point on the blade depicts an arcuate locus of the same shape.

A corneal surgical apparatus for incising a cornea of a patient's eye in a layered form includes: a suction ring unit, having a circular opening, that is to be vacuum-fixed onto a peripheral part of the cornea; a rotatable shaft; an eccentric pin projecting from a distal end of the shaft, the eccentric pin being located at a position offset from a rotational central axis of the shaft; and a cutting unit movable in an incising direction above the suction ring unit. The cutting unit including: cornea applanating means that applanates the cornea within the opening into a substantially flat form; a blade that incises the cornea; a first oscillation transmitting member having a part with which the eccentric pin is engaged; a second oscillation transmitting member having a part with which a part of the first oscillation transmitting member is engaged; and a holder that holds the first and second oscillation transmitting members to be movable in a lateral direction which is perpendicular to the rotational central axis of the shaft. Movement of the second oscillation transmitting member in the lateral direction causes the blade to be moved in the same direction.

An apparatus for operating upon a cornea for delivering a laser beam having wavelength in an ultraviolet range emitted from a laser light source to the cornea, and for correcting ametropia by ablating the cornea with the laser beam, the apparatus comprises a correcting-hypermetropia optical system having a first aperture to restrict an ablation area, for correcting hypermetropia by changing a passing area for the laser beam, input device for inputting information necessary for defining a corneal shape after ablation, controlling device for defining an ablation shape based on the information inputted by the input device, and for driving the laser light source and the correcting-hypermetropia optical system, and a second aperture located by decentering for the center of the cornea, for transmitting the laser beam within an area of a near-point portion, whereby correction of presbyopia may be performed so that the cornea has double focal points by driving the laser light source and the correcting-hypermetropia optical system under condition that the second aperture is located at a predetermined position.

A cornea surgical operation apparatus for incising a cornea of a patient's eye into a layer comprises a fixing device having an opening put into contact with the surface of the cornea and for being fixed to a peripheral part of the cornea with the opening as a center, a press device for nearly flat pressing the cornea protruded from the opening, a blade for cutting out the cornea pressed into a nearly flat shape by the press device, a movement device for moving the blade in such a way that it passes a center of the opening, and a rotation device for rotating the blade moved at least to a Bowman membrane by the movement device with the center of the opening as the center of rotation.

Binocular stereo microscope including an observation optical system to observe the patient's eye through binocular vision, comprising laser transmitting optical system for transmitting the therapeutic laser beam coaxially with the optical axis of an objective lens in the binocular stereo microscope to the patient's eye, alignment light beam projection optical system for projecting the alignment light beam onto the patient's eye to form an alignment index on the eye. CCD detects the index image projected on the patient's eye by the alignment light beam projection optical system, CPU judges alignment situation based on the image detected by the CCD, moving unit for moving the patient's eye relatively to the binocular stereo microscope is moved based on a judgement of the CPU.
