In a motor-driven power steering apparatus having a preload means which energizes a bearing of a worm gear in a predetermined preload direction, the preload means has a guide case as well as having a bearing case, and the guide case accommodating the bearing case in which the bearing and a spring are accommodated is attached to an attaching portion which is provided in a gear housing.

Motor-driven power steering apparatus

In a power steering apparatus for a small vessel, an electrically driven assist device () and a helm pump () formed of a swash plate type axial piston pump are arranged in parallel on a common base (). The electrically driven assist device () and the helm pumpare connected through a transmission system () under the common baseand integrated into a steering oil pressure generating unit () functioning as the power steering apparatus. The electrically driven assist device () is carried on an instrument panel (). The parallel arrangement of the electrically driven assist device () and the helm pump () allows the steering oil pressure generating device () to be reduced in vertical length, so that it is possible to shorten the distance between the instrument panel () and a bottom () of the vessel and to lower positions of a handle and an operator's seat, thereby realizing the low center of gravity.

Power steering apparatus for small vessel

An electric power steering device including an input shaft to which a steering wheel is connected, an output shaft connected to a wheel side, a torsion bar provided between the input shaft and the output shaft, and a torque sensor that detects steering torque input from the steering wheel. An electric motor is driven in accordance with the torque detected by the torque sensor. A worm wheel is provided on the output shaft to transmit rotation of the electric motor to the output shaft in a housing, wherein a boss of the worm wheel is fitted into an outer circumference of the output shaft, and a bearing fitted into the outer circumference of the boss is supported on the housing.

A motor-driven steering assist apparatus includes a single unit body covered by first to third housings, an upper end portion of an input shaft and a torque sensor are supported to the first housing, an upper end portion of an output shaft, an electric motor, a worm gear and a worm wheel are supported to the second housing, and a lower end portion of the output shaft is supported to the third housing.

Motor-driven steering assist apparatus

In an electric power steering apparatus, a bearing of a drive shaft provided with a worm gear is connected to the drive shaft in an axial direction. It installs an elastic body (a holding device) which elastically deforms so as to move the drive shaft in an axial direction at a time of load input when tooth faces of the worm gear and the worm wheel are brought into contact with each other.
