A tire holding member for a tire testing machine includes: a bottom rim, which is attached to a bottom spindle that is able to rotate around a central axis in the vertical direction; a top rim, which is disposed above the bottom spindle and which is attached to the bottom end of a top spindle that is able to rotate around the central axis with the bottom spindle; and a convex-sided member. One of the bottom rim or the top rim has a hole with the central axis at the center thereof. The other of the bottom rim or the top rim has an end surface facing the one rim. The bottom rim and the top rim are positioned by each other in a state in which the center of each coincides at the central axis due to the protruding section and the hole engaging with each other.

Provided is a tire testing machine including: a spindle shaft that rotatably attaches a tire as an inspection target thereto; a tire outer shape measurement sensor that moves close to the tire or moves away from the tire and detects a deformation amount of an outer shape and a diameter of the tire attached to the spindle shaft; and a collision preventing sensor that includes a probe formed in a linear material and a contact detecting portion detecting a state where the probe contacts the tire in order to prevent the tire outer shape measurement sensor from colliding with the tire, wherein the probe has a bent or divided shape in order to ensure a wider contact detecting range contacting the tire.

A hydraulic press includes a fixed mold, a movable mold movable closely to or separately from the fixed mold, a hydraulic cylinder for moving and pressing the movable mold, and a hydraulic circuit for controlling the supply of a pressing oil in the hydraulic cylinder. The hydraulic circuit includes: a variable capacity pump connected to the hydraulic cylinder by an oil tube through a solenoid direction switching valve; a solenoid proportional flow control valve interposed on the way of an oil tube bypassing the solenoid direction switching valve; a detecting sensor for detecting the position or speed of the movable mold; a speed setter for setting the pressing speed of the movable mold; and a controller for comparing the output value of the detecting sensor with a speed set-up value thereby adjusting the opening of the solenoid proportional flow control valve. With this construction, it is possible to smoothly control the pressing speed in a low speed pressing region of the movable mold irrespective of the leaked oil amount and load on the pressing cylinder side.

A molding compound metering system meters a molding compound in supplying the molding compound from a molding compound stocker into the injection chamber of an injection barrel by detecting the backward stroke of the injection plunger of an injection cylinder, axially slidably fitted in the injection chamber and detecting the pressure of the molding compound in the injection chamber of the injection barrel. When the injection plunger is moved backward by the pressure of the molding compound supplied into the injection chamber, the discharge of the working fluid from the back working chamber of the injection cylinder is regulated to apply back pressure to the injection plunger by an adjustable-pressure relief valve, and a regulated pressure is applied to the front working chamber of the injection cylinder. Thus, the adjustable-pressure relief valve is able to regulate the back pressure in a relatively high pressure range and, consequently, the back pressure can be accurately regulated to enhance the reliability of the metering operation.

A mold aligning method and device for a compression molding machine comprising a bed, uprights standing upright on the bed, a crown block joined to the tops of the uprights, a slide block guided for vertical sliding movement by the uprights, and a hydraulic cylinder actuator mounted on the crown block to drive the slide block for vertical sliding movement, for maintaining an upper mold attached to the lower surface of the slide block in parallel to a mating lower mold during a compression-molding operation. The mold aligning device comprises a plurality of mold position adjusting cylinder actuators disposed on the bed, position detectors associated respectively with the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators to detect the strokes of the latter, a hydraulic source for driving the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators, and a control unit for controlling the strokes of the piston rods of the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators with reference to the zero points of the piston rods of the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators determined beforehand. The zero points are decided by placing the upper mold in close contact with the lower mold and extending the piston rods of the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators so that the piston rods are pressed against the lower surface of the slide block. The strokes of the piston rods are controlled during a compression-molding operation so that the upper mold is maintained precisely in parallel to the lower mold.

A method of controlling a hydraulic press wherein changing over from velocity control to pressure control can be effected at an optimum point of time in accordance with a condition of material being filled. When a movable mold half of a metal mold is moved by a hydraulic cylinder to compression mold a work within a cavity defined in the metal mold, the velocity of movement of the mold half by the hydraulic cylinder is controlled until pressurization of the work is started, but after starting of the pressurization, the pressurizing force of the hydraulic cylinder is controlled. During the velocity control, a parameter which varies as the compression proceeds is successively detected during the velocity control, and changing over from the velocity control to the pressure control is effected at a point of time when the detected parameter coincides with a preset value--that is, when the work is fully filled in the cavity. A device for controlling a hydraulic press is also disclosed wherein optimal pressure control can be assured in accordance with a current condition of material for molding.

A mold aligning method and device for a compression molding machine which includes a bed, a plurality of uprights standing upright on the bed, a crown block joined to the tops of the uprights, a slide block guided for vertical sliding movement by the uprights, and a hydraulic cylinder actuator mounted on the crown block to drive the slide block for vertical sliding movement, for maintaining an upper mold attached to the lower surface of the slide block in parallel to a mating lower mold during a compression-molding operation. The mold aligning device includes a plurality of mold position adjusting cylinder actuators disposed on the bed, a plurality of position detectors associated respectively with the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators to detect the strokes of the latter, a hydraulic source for driving the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators, and a control unit for controlling the strokes of the piston rods of the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators with reference to the zero points of the piston rods of the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators determined beforehand. The zero points are determined by placing the upper mold in close contact with the lower mold and extending the piston rods of the mold position adjusting cylinder actuators so that the piston rods are pressed against the lower surface of the slide block. The strokes of the piston rods are controlled during a compression-molding operation so that the upper mold is maintained precisely in parallel with the lower mold.

A press working control method for controlling the press working operation of a press having a pressure cylinder for applying a working pressure to a workpiece, a press slide operatively connected to the pressure cylinder and carrying a movable die, a bed fixedly mounted with a fixed die, a plurality of control cylinders supporting the press slide in a level position during the press working operation, and a press control system for carrying out the press working control method. The press control system comprises a first pressure detector for detecting the operative pressure of the pressure cylinder, quick-response control valves each for regulating the height of the control cylinder, height detectors each for detecting the height of the control cylinder, second pressure detectors each for detecting the operative pressure of the control cylinder, servovalves each for detecting the operative pressure of the control cylinder, and a control unit including a computer for deciding manipulated variables for the height and operative pressure control of the control cylinders on the basis of data obtained by the detectors. Method for adjusting the compression stroke allowance of a vertical injection-compression molding machine including a slide plate mounting thereon a mold clamp cylinder and an upper mold in opposition to a lower mold on a machine bed, and a lift cylinder for moving the slide plate up and down along tie bars, the method including the steps of: downwardly extending a piston rod of a hydraulic cylinder connected to the slide plate to a stroke end: upwardly extending a piston rod of an air cylinder connected to the bed thereof, with the upper and lower molds in contact with each other, until a micrometer at the upper end of the air cylinder piston rod abutts the lower end of the hydraulic cylinder piston rod; fixing the air cylinder piston rod in this state; upwardly retracting the hydraulic cylinder piston rod; setting the micrometer at a desired compression stroke allowance; lowering the hydraulic cylinder piston rod to the stroke end thereof; and lifting the slide plate so as to allow for injection-compression molding operation.

An injection molding machine is disclosed in which molten resin from an extruder is injected into the cavity of a mold through a nozzle. A runner body disposed between the mold and the extruder has a substantially L-shaped hot runner for supplying the molten resin from the extruder to the mold therethrough. The runner body is pivotably supported by a support assembly and is horizontally slidable relative to the support assembly to accommodate thermal expansion, whereby the nozzle mounted on the runner body can be brought into or out of intimate contact with the mold. To accommodate the thermal expansion of the runner body only toward the extruder, a stopper is provided on the base frame.

A mold clamping device for an injection molding machine wherein a movable table which supports a movable mold is moved in directions approaching and moving away from a fixed table which supports a fixed mold to thereby bring the molds into open and closed states, and wherein mold clamping is effected in a closed state of the molds by mold clamping cylinders. The mold clamping device includes tie rods for guiding the movement of the movable table, the tie rods projecting upward from the fixed table and being each provided with an engaging groove such as threads or the like formed on the outer peripheral surface of its portion projecting from the movable table to the side opposite to the fixed table in the closed state of the molds; and split mold-like locking members capable of engaging with and disengaging from the tie rods each through each engaging groove in the closed state of the molds, the locking members being slidable in the axial direction of the tie rods. The mold clamping cylinders are disposed between the locking members and the movable table. Since the tie rods which receive the mold clamping reaction are so constructed as to also be employable as guide members for guiding the movement of the movable table, it is possible to attain a structural simplification and reduction in size in addition to advantage in terms of maintenance.
