A mechanical seal capable of preventing charge accumulation on a rotary shaft includes a fixed sealing element which is held at an inner periphery of housing members of machines to be installed and has at least a fixed seal ring, and a rotating sealing element which is held at an outer periphery of a rotary shaft rotatably supported in the housing members and has at least a rotating seal ring. A conductive element is provided between the fixed sealing elementand the rotary shaft or a rotary shaft member fixed to the rotary shaft.

Mechanical seal

A lip-type seal shaft seal device equipped with a lip seal for sealing a rotary member and a stationary member concentrically disposed to the inside and outside in a radial direction, has a plurality of aeration-creating parts for creating aeration through relative rotational sliding of the lip seal and the rotary member, formed in separated fashion in the circumferential direction on the outside peripheral surface of the rotary member. The aeration-creating parts are configured from a plurality of fine grooves arranged in the circumferential direction, extending along the axial direction of the rotary member. The lip of the lip seal extends towards the outside atmosphere side, leaving a portion of the aeration-creating parts at the sealed fluid side in the axial direction.

Shaft seal device

To facilitate recycling and prevent rotation of constituent parts, a lip type seal has a first lip seal member constructed from a rubber-like elastic material, a metal-made retaining ring held at the first lip seal member without bonding, and a resin-made second lip seal member and a backup ring which are held at the retaining ring by caulking. The first lip seal member has a tubular portion, a radial portion, a seal lip, and a collar portion. The retaining ring has a cylinder portion, a first flange portion, and a second flange portion, and the second lip seal member and the backup ring are held between the first and second flange portions by caulking. A convex portion is provided at a position in the circumferential direction of the first flange portion, and the convex portion engages with the second lip seal member to prevent rotation of the second lip seal member.

Lip type seal

To enable to use a lip type seal at installation positions where shaft diameters are same but shaft hole diameters are different, an installation structure is made such that a lip type seal () is installed to an inner periphery of a shaft hole () via a cartridge () arranged at an outer peripheral side of the lip type seal, the cartridge () has a large-diameter tube portion () and a small-diameter tube portion () via a step portion (), and is fitted to the inner periphery of the shaft hole () by an outer peripheral surface of the large-diameter tube portion (), while the lip type seal () is fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the small-diameter tube portion (), and only a diameter of the large-diameter tube portion () is set in conformity to a diameter of a shaft hole to be installed.

Installation structure for lip type seal

A shaft sealing device includes a seal assembly equipped with a fitting part having a fitting surface hermetically fittable within a hole defining surface of a housing and a rubber elastomer first seal lip extending inward from the fitting part and having a seal surface which seals a fluid inside an internal boundary thereof. A seal sleeve made of metal or resin material is equipped with a slide seal surface that is in slidable contact with the seal surface of the first seal lip. A concave rotor surrounds a seal surface region defined at a longitudinal end of the slide seal surface, and includes a close-contact fitting surface that is hermetically fitted to a rotary shaft. A discharge port defined by the rotor facilitates the sealed fluid being pushed back to the rotor in a direction extending away from the seal surface region.

For easier separation and sorting by material of constructing parts and better assembly retainability among the constructing parts and installing workability, a lip type seal has a elastic material-made first lip seal member () including a cylinder portion () fitted into a shaft hole () and a first seal lip () arranged at a sealed fluid side (A) and contacted with a shaft (), a resin-made second lip seal member () including a second seal lip () arranged at an atmospheric air side (B) and contacted with the shaft (), a metal-made spacer ring () arranged at the sealed fluid side (A) of the second lip seal member (), and a metal-made retaining ring () retaining the spacer ring () and the second lip seal member (), and these parts are assembled without bonding, so that the retaining ring () is fitted to the first lip seal member ().

In a sealing device of the present invention, a support ring is fitted in an annular recessed part formed on the inner peripheral surface of a seal lip part independently of a reinforcement ring to support the seal lip part from the inner peripheral side, and the support ring is supported axially by a reinforcement ring via an interposed part. Thereby, when a rotating shaft is inserted into the seal ring, a contact area between a seal part and the rotating shaft can be made appropriate, and when a high pressure is applied to the seal lip part, an increase in contact area between the seal part and the rotating shaft can be suppressed within an appropriate range and the seal part becomes able to follow the eccentricity of the rotating shaft.
