There is provided a machine tool for suppressing the adverse effect of run-out of the rear end of a spindle on the rotation detection accuracy when processing a workpiece within a processing area. The machine tool includes a rotation driver, the spindle that is rotated by the rotation driver, a rotational angle detector that is provided to face a part forming the spindle in order to detect a rotational angle of the spindle, and at least two bearings that support the spindle and are arranged on a side of the processing area with respect to the rotation driver. The rotational angle detector is arranged at a position on the side of the processing area with respect to the rotation driver, the position being on the side of the processing area with respect to the bearings, on a side of the rotation driver with respect to the bearings, or between the bearings.

Machine tool

A machine tool is provided capable of detecting an abnormality caused by detaching a spindle. The machine tool includes: the spindle configured to rotate a workpiece or a tool; a sensor configured to output a signal according to a rotation angle of the spindle; and a controller configured to detect occurrence of an abnormality in at least one of the spindle and the sensor when an electrical signal different from the signal output during each of rotation of the spindle and halt of the spindle is output from the sensor.

NC lathe

A machine tool that comprises a fixed bed, a pair of tool posts mounted on the fixed bed on a side closer to an operator and a carriage mounted on each of the tool posts is disclosed. A headstock is provided on a side of the fixed bed farther from the operator so that a workpiece disposed in the headstock is subjected to a cutting process by moving the carriages and the tool posts relative to the workpiece. The machine tool also includes a headstock base having the headstock disposed thereon. The headstock base is structured and arranged so as to be movable between a workpiece machining position where the workpiece can be machined at a position farther from the operator and a workpiece loading and unloading position where the workpiece can be loaded and unloaded at a position closer to the operator.

A machine tool such as an NC lathe having a machine body is disclosed. The machine tool comprises a fixed bed, a machine body having a carriage with a tool post mounted thereon is provided on one side of the fixed bed nearer to an operator, and a headstock for loading a workpiece thereon is provided on another side of the fixed bed farther from the operator. The machine tool also includes a cover having a front wall and a side wall to cover at least a front face and a side wall of the machine body, respectively. The cover is provided so as to externally surround the machine tool, and wherein a portion of the side wall of the cover adjacent the tool post includes a door opening formed therein and a side door for opening and closing the door opening. Thus, the tool replacement work is facilitated and the overall workability of the machine tool can be improved.

A correction apparatus comprises a correction amount setting section and a correction execution section and provides in an NC lathe equipped with a first tool rest and a second tool rest which are movable in the X-axis direction and in the Z-axis direction. The correction amount setting section sets correction amounts for canceling the displacement of the second tool rest in the X-axis direction caused depending on the position of the first tool rest in the Z-axis direction and for canceling the displacement of the first tool rest in the X-axis direction caused depending on the position of the second tool rest in the Z-axis direction. The correction execution section corrects movement target position data regarding the first tool rest and the second tool rest in the X-axis direction on the basis of the correction amounts.

Correction apparatus for NC lathe

A machine tool comprises a fixed bed; a carriage with a tool post mounted thereon is provided on the fixed bed on one side; and a headstock is provided on another side so that the headstock is connected to a headstock base and is movable between a workpiece machining position for machining a workpiece and a workpiece loading/unloading position for loading or unloading a workpiece. A spindle device for machine tools that can eliminate the need for laborious air bleeding work and labor-demanding fitting/removing work for maintenance. The spindle device for machine tools includes a drawbar that is axially movably inserted into an axial hole of a tool spindle body. The drawbar serves to bias a tool in a clamping direction. An unclamping cylinder mechanism is provided in a rear of the tool spindle and serves to move the drawbar in an unclamping direction. The unclamping cylinder mechanism has a cylinder block fixed to a rear end wall of the tool spindle body and includes a plurality of bolts. A relay oil passage allows a hydraulic passage in the tool spindle body and a hydraulic passage in the cylinder block to communicate with each other.

Spindle device for machine tools

The invention provides a clamping device for machine tools capable of preventing the occurrence of impressions. In a clamping device for machine tools, a tailstock (movable carriage) is provided on a top face of a fixed bed and the tailstock is positioned and fixed with respect to the fixed bed. The tailstock is supported by linear-motion bearings (guides) which are disposed between the tailstock and the fixed bed. Blocks are slidably engaged with rails extending in the travel direction with rollers interposed between them. Further, a recess portion extending in the travel direction is formed in the top surface of the fixed bed. A cylinder mechanism is arranged so that left and right inner walls in the recess portion are pressed by a pair of pistons provided on the undersurface of a headstock.

Clamping device for machine tools

A tool changer for machine tools is capable of transferring a tool transfer pot with a stroke smaller than the transfer distance of the tool transfer pot. The tool changer for a combined machining lathe includes a tool magazine having a multiplicity of tools and serving for transferring and indexing a next-process tool to a specified tool takeout position. A tool transfer mechanism transfers the next-process tool positioned in the tool takeout position or the tool delivery position to a tool changing position. A tool changing mechanism changes a process-completed tool loaded on a tool post body with the next-process tool positioned in the tool changing position. The tool transfer mechanism comprises a transfer arm pivotally disposed between the tool delivery position and the tool changing position. A tool transfer pot is coupled to a front-end portion of the transfer arm and serves to support the next-process tool.

Tool changer for machine tools

A machine tool is provided where the support rigidity of the saddle is improved without increasing the height of the headstock. The machine tool includes a headstock situated on a fixed bed and a saddle having two different heights disposed on the fixed bed so as to be movable along a direction of an axis line of the headstock. A tool post is present on a column placed on the saddle so that the tool post is movable in a direction perpendicular to the axis line of the headstock. In this machine tool, the height of one portion of the saddle located toward the rear side of the tool is larger than the height of another portion of the saddle located toward the front side of the tool.
