Disclosed is a method for detecting a position receiving a light beam by using optical fibers. One-side end face of a plurality of optical fibers are arranged in a line or plane. Each optical fiber is branched by a light beam splitter having a plurality of output ports. The branched optical fibers are bundled into groups. Each group of the bundled optical fibers is connected to a light beam detecting sensor which consists of one light beam detecting member for detecting a position receiving a laser beam. Therefore, a large number of light beam sensors are not needed. As a result, the accompanying electronic circuits can be simplified, and high speed processing without any delay is also permitted.

A method of detecting light receiving position utilizing optical fibers comprising: a plurality of light receiving surfaces each of which is formed by end surfaces of a plurality of optical fibers arranged straight, and which are arranged in parallel with each other to form rows which are divided into groups to form output ports; light receiving sensors each of which is formed by one light detection device, and which are connected to the corresponding groups, whereby laser beams from the light receiving surfaces are detected by the light receiving sensors through the optical fibers.

Method of and device for detecting light receiving position utilizing

A laser interferometer wherein a laser beam emitted from a laser device at a fixed position impinges on an optical lens mounted on a movable member, and interference fringes are produced on a semitransparent mirror formed at an end of the optical lens opposite to the laser device. The interference fringes on the semitransparent mirror are converted to electrical signals by a photoelectric transducer including a bundle of optical fibers arranged along concentric circles and photodiodes located opposed to the end surface of the bundle of optical fibers. Based on the electrical signals from the photoelectric transducer, the number of the interference fringes passing by and the direction of movement of the interference fringes are detected to determine a relative distance between the laser device and the optical lens.

A moving apparatus for a pneumatically supported membrane structure is described herein, which apparatus has a rigid movable frame disposed along a lower peripheral edge of a pneumatically supported membrane structure, the rigid movable frame being constructed in such manner that upon moving the pneumatically supported membrane structure, the structure can be moved while maintaining its shape under the condition that said frame is separated upwardly from a floor surface on which the structure is moved.
