A floating connector comprises a fixed housing, a fixed shell, a terminal, a movable housing, a movable shell and a regulating portion. The fixed shell is attached to the fixed housing. The fixed shell is provided with a first shell contact portion. The movable shell is attached to the movable housing. The movable shell is provided with a second shell contact portion. At least one of the first shell contact portion and the second shell contact portion has a resilient property. The first shell contact portion and the second shell contact portion are in contact with each other in an up-down direction by the resilient property of the at least one of the first shell contact portion and the second shell contact portion. The regulating portion regulates a movement of the second shell contact portion away from the first shell contact portion in the up-down direction.

Floating connector

A connector includes contacts, a mid-plate and a housing, each contact having a contact portion at a front end portion and having a length corresponding to an effective connection length along a fitting direction, an exposed portion adjacent to a rear end of the contact portion and exposed from the housing, a connecting portion at a rear end portion, and a holding portion between the exposed portion and the connecting portion and at least partially embedded in the housing, the contact portion of each contact being disposed away from the mid-plate by a predetermined distance, each of a plurality of pairs of contacts having a separation portion separated from the mid-plate by a separation distance longer than the predetermined distance, the separation portion including the exposed portion and a part of the holding portion adjacent to a rear end of the exposed portion in the fitting direction.

Connector

A connector includes signal contacts and predetermined contacts maintained at predetermined voltage levels. Each contact has a horizontal portion, an intersecting portion extending along a direction intersecting with the horizontal portion and a coupling portion coupling the horizontal portion and the intersecting portion to each other. The contacts include a first contact group made up of the two predetermined contacts and one differential pair of the two signal contacts. In the first contact group, a size of the coupling portion of each of the predetermined contacts in the pitch direction is larger than another size of the coupling portion of each of the signal contacts in the pitch direction, and a size of the intersecting portion of each of the predetermined contacts in the pitch direction is larger than another size of the intersecting portion of each of the signal contacts in the pitch direction.

A connector includes: a housing, which includes a hole portion extending forward from an insertion slot into which an object is to be inserted; a plurality of terminals, which are arranged in the hole portion; a conductive shell, which is configured to at least partially cover the housing; a grounding spring pieces, which are electrically connected to the conductive shell, and is formed at a position apart from a terminal group toward a right side or a left side so that the grounding spring pieces are brought into contact with a grounding pad of the object; and a partition wall, which extends between the terminal group and the grounding spring pieces along a front-and-rear direction, and is configured to partition the terminal group and the grounding spring pieces.

A connector is capable of selectively connecting different types of cards. The connector has a first connector portion having a first contact for connection to a first card, and a second connector portion having a second contact for connection to a second card. The first contact and the first card are connected together in a fitting/removal direction, while, the second contact and the second card are connected together in a direction crossing the fitting/removal direction. When the first contact and the first card are connected together, the second contact is prevented from contacting the first card. When the second contact and the second card are connected together, the first contact is prevented from contacting the second card.

Small-size connector enabling selective use of different types of connection objects

In a card connector for use in connection of a card, a guide portion connected to a connector body. The guide portion is adapted to guide movement of the card with respect to the connector body. A selecting portion is connected to the guide portion and has an engaging portion. When the card has a predetermined thickness, the selecting portion is elastically deformed by contact with the card to allow further movement of the card. When the card is thinner than the predetermined thickness, the engaging portion is engaged with the card to inhibit further movement of the card.
