A method of injection molding an opening device on sheet packaging material for packaging pourable food products; the packaging material has at least a first and a second layer, and an opening formed through the first layer and sealed by a cover portion of the second layer; the method includes the steps of injecting molten plastic material onto a first side of the cover portion of the second layer, feeding the molten plastic material along the cover portion to cover it on the first side, and feeding the molten plastic material through an annular peripheral portion of the cover portion to form a spout of the opening device projecting from a second side, opposite the first side, of the cover portion; the molten plastic material covers the cover portion to define, with the cover portion, a user-removable sealing portion of the spout.

A packaging container capable of reducing a tensile or compressive stress in the paper container caused by folding the pleat portion thereof to maintain the strength characteristics thereof, and providing a wide roof portion on one side thereof so that a large-sized spout can be fitted thereto. The packaging container including a pouring spout fitted thereto is characterized in that the top part thereof formed by folding the pleat line is formed of a surface tilted forward on the front side of the top part and a substantially flat surface adjacent to the tilted surface on the rear side of the top part and that a flap derived from the formation of the top part is allowed to abut on the container side-walls adjacent to the top part by the folding of the pleat.

There is provided a capped container in which the angle of rotation of a screw cap required for unsealing the same can be rendered small and in which a cut piece can be prevented from being completely cut away from a container body. The capped container includes a container body () including a wall portion and a rupture portion () formed at a predetermined position of the wall portion; a tubular base portion attached to the wall portion and surrounding the rupture portion (); a movable tube () disposed in the base portion and thread-engaged with the base portion; and a screw cap () disposed outside the base portion, thread-engaged with the base portion, engaged with the movable tube (), and adapted to rotate the movable tube () while being rotated. A cutting member () including a plurality of blades (tto t) and adapted to cut the rupture portion () as the screw cap () is rotated is formed at a lower end of the movable tube (). A bottom portion (br) is formed between pointed tips (pand p) of two predetermined blades (tand t).

Capped container

An apparatus and method for sealing a sealing area of a packaging container in which the sealing area has a predetermined exterior shape. The apparatus includes a generator, a horn and an anvil. The anvil has an abutting portion that conforms to the exterior shape of the sealing area of the packaging container. The plurality of slidable plates may be composed of a ferromagnetic material, a paramagnetic material or a ceramic material. The plurality of slidable plates are supported on an elastic sleeve that allows for the inward movement of the plates when the force exerted by the horn on the sealing area exceeds the elastic force of the sleeve thereby allowing the corresponding plurality of slidable plates to conform to the exterior shape of the sealing area of the packaging container. An electromagnet may be used to restrict the movement of the slidable plates subsequent to their conforming to the exterior shape of the sealing area.

A pull-tab for a liquid container according to the present invention is designed in form of a sheet, and by providing a cutting line in form of a ring, leaving a connecting sector on the periphery, it comprises a handle sector, being the portion outside said cutting line, and a main sector, being the portion inside the cutting line. By providing another cutting line in convex arc in the direction away from the connecting sector on the main sector, a fastening sector is formed. In this pull-tab, the main sector covers the pouring mouth when the connecting sector is positioned near outer periphery of the pouring mouth of the liquid container. A sector between an end of the main sector opposite to the connecting sector and a fastening sector is bonded to the surface of the liquid container. When the handle sector is lifted up and the main sector is pulled up with edges of the bonded sector as a supporting axis, the fastening sector is turned, and its forward end is stopped on the surface of the liquid container.
