A vehicle seat comprises a seat back, a seat bottom, a headrest mounted on an upper portion of the seat back. The headrest includes a reverse U-shaped support section having downwardly extending two pillars and a horizontal section which connects upper portions of the pillars with each other. A lock plate is fixed to the horizontal section. A headrest frame is provided with an engagement disk which is changed over between a lock position where the engagement disk engages with the lock plate to disable the headrest to rotate about the horizontal section, and an unlock position where the engagement disk disengages from the lock plate to enable the headrest to rotate around the horizontal section.

An automobile seat height adjuster includes a linkage base frame between the seat's side frames and seat brackets so as to be vertically swingable. The base frame has two pairs of linkage members interconnected by respective shafts. Each of the linkage members extends between one of the side frames and one of the brackets so as to be collapsable. A power transmission mechanism transmits to the linkage base frame power generated by operation of an operating knob and causes the linkage base frame to swing vertically, thereby causing the seat to move vertically. Stops on the linkage base frame abut the installation surfaces, limiting downward movement of the seat and keeping the seat in a lowermost position at which side frames of the seat are spaced from the installation surfaces.

A sliding-type automobile seat comprising a seat cushion frame, a slide rail mechanism for allowing the seat to be slidingly moved, slide lock mechanisms for causing the seat to be releasably locked at predetermined positions, a substantially U-shaped operating lever for causing the seat to be released from a locked state, and connection mechanisms for causing both end portions of the substantially U-shaped operating lever to the slide lock mechanisms, the slide rail mechanism comprising a pair of parallel lower rails mounted on a floor surface of an automobile, and a pair of parallel upper rails attached to a lower portion of the seat cushion frame and slidably engaged with the pair of parallel lower rails, each of the slide lock mechanisms comprising a lock member swingably mounted to a corresponding upper rail and urged upward at one end portion thereof by a spring, the lock member including a first engaging member, and a second engaging member provided at a corresponding lower rail, the first engaging member and the second engaging member being adapted to be releasably engaged with each other, to thereby cause the seat to be locked at the predetermined positions, each of the connection mechanisms comprising a connection member having a member for stoppingly engaging the lock member, and the member for stoppingly engaging the lock member being engaged with the lock member, whereby the operating lever is connected, via the connection mechanisms, to the slide rock mechanism by one-touch operation.

In a bored headrest, a garnish includes a front garnish and a rear garnish that are attached to a through-hole of a skin member in front and rear directions of the through-hole to seal an opening. The front garnish has a first holding portion that can hold a first skin edge portion, and a first connecting portion formed at a near side to the rear garnish. The rear garnish has a second holding portion which can hold a second skin edge portion, and a second connecting portion formed at a near side to the front garnish. Ends of each supporting pin are projected to both sides of each link plate. Each supporting shaft is fixed by welding to each link plate at a position near one end side of the plate. A pipe-like connecting shaft is axis-aligned to and fitted on an end portion of the supporting pin which projects inward from each link plate, so as to be supported between link plates. An end portion of the supporting pin which projects outward from each link plate is passed through a side frame section and fixedly riveted over. Further, each link plate is fixed by welding to both ends of the connecting shaft, and a link base frame is assembled between side frame sections.
