A liquid discharge head has an element base plate provided with a plurality of heat generating members and electrode wiring formed by thin-filmed electrode and common thick-filmed electrode for applying driving signals to the heat generating members, and with the structure arranged to form a flow path structural member to constitute discharge ports and liquid flow paths corresponding to each of the heat generating members, the common thick-filmed electrode is covered and sealed by the flow path structural member, and then, the driving IC assembled on an IC assembling and others are sealed by use of sealant, hence making it possible to secure the sealing capability, while making the distance between the common thick-filmed electrode and the driving IC smaller for the effective utilization of the area of the base plate. Thus, the element base plate can be made smaller.

Liquid discharge head

The process of the present invention for producing an ink-jet recording head is simple and does not require an additional solid layer on a first solid layer. The process comprises the steps of forming a solid layer in a space for forming a liquid path and a part of a liquid chamber on a first supporting member having thereon a discharge pressure-generating element used for discharging an ink, forming an opening portion at a position for forming an ink-supply opening in a second supporting member, placing the second supporting member on the first supporting member, providing a curable or thermoplastic resin for forming walls of the liquid path and the liquid chamber onto the first supporting member so that the solid layer formed on the first supporting member is covered with the resin, curing the resin in such a state that the resin is interposed between the first and second supporting members, cutting from the above the cured resin of the opening portion formed in the second supporting member until the solid layer to form an ink-supply opening and at least a part of a common liquid chamber, and removing the solid layer to form the liquid path defined by the first and second supporting members and the resin.

Process for producing ink-jet recording head

A process for producing a liquid jet recording head comprises the step of laminating a solid layer for formation of a liquid channel, a photosensitive material to be provided so as to cover over the solid layer, a discharge opening plate provided with a discharge opening communicated to the liquid channel in this order on a substrate; the step of irradiating an active energy ray in a pattern on the photosensitive material layer; and the step of removing the solid layer and the uncured portion of said photosensitive material layer corresponding to the pattern to form the liquid channel.

Process for producing an ink jet recording head

A method for producing an ink jet head comprises providing ink pathways formed of a photosensitive resin on the surface of a substrate and laminating covering over said pathways, and said photosensitive resin is exposed to light and the unexposed portion thereof is removed, the covering is placed over said photosensitive resin, and thereafter said photosensitive resin is subjected to the curing treatment.

Method for producing ink jet recording head

A method for producing an ink jet head by providing ink pathways formed from a photosensitive resin on a substrate surface and laminating a covering over said pathways comprises providing a protective layer comprising an inorganic oxide and/or an inorganic nitride on said substrate having arranged an ink discharging pressure generating element thereon, treating the surface of the protective layer with a silane coupler or at least one organometallic compound selected from the group consisting of metal alcoholates, metal carboxylates and metal chelate compounds, and thereafter laminating the aforesaid photosensitive resin.

An improved ink jet recording head is provided which comprises a substrate, and a cured film of a photosensitive resin for the formation of ink pathways and a covering over said pathways. Said covering comprises a flat plate made of a UV-light transmissive material having a photosensitive resin film adhered on both surfaces thereof. This ink jet recording head is precise, reliable and durable.

Ink jet recording head

An ink jet recording head is made by laminating on a substrate a cured photosensitive resin film for forming ink pathways on the substrate and a cover of said pathways are provided. In the head, the thicknesses of the wall defining the ink pathways, the grooves and the spaces are not more than 15 times the thickness of the cured photosensitive resin film. Such ratio of the wall thickness to the film thickness and the existence of grooves and spaces serve to prevent the peeling-off at the lamination interfaces. -
